nice work! Was a little thrown by the melodic transition in the middle.
Really good melodies in this song, that part at 0:20 thru 0:25 is amaze. I noticed in many of your songs you like to take the song on a brief walk into the darkside before bringing it back (0:30-0:45) which is an interesting idea in many songs, but for a waltz that was really cheerful it felt like a brief moment of anxiety before coming back to reality. I enjoyed the ending, it had a strong finish! Overall good work, I liked it :)
I think it's the first 3/4 I hear in this jam, which works great in setting the tone for a waltzy dance in some palace halls. The sound palette worked fine in general for me, with just maybe the drums appearance standing a bit out of place. I also digged the transition to a more dark harmony at the second half of the piece, before returning back to the beginning. I felt this road could be explored further to take the track to a more enigmatic place.
I liked that you used the synthesizer; I think it adds a lot. Plus, the strings sound great, well done!
How interesting. This songs sounds just like the soundtrack to something christmas-y and simultaneously splendoroislt royal as well. Such a cheery upbeat song.
This song does seem to lean more into the 'castle' of the 'crystal castle' theme this jam had going. There's not very much crystal-y-ness. Although this does song like a Christmas song, and in my experience crystal-type sounds have a lot of overlap with cold sounds, so maybe not idk.
The square synth surpisingly sn't out of place with this orchestral song. It makes it sound like it's out of adventure time or some kind if cartoon.
Pretty cool. 👍
I found it a bit hard to keep up with the triple meter for the whole way through- I think a bit more emphasis on the first beat in some parts would have been nice. I enjoyed the light ish feel throughout, and I actually enjoyed the percussion with the orchestra! The transition between the darker section and the lighter one in the second half felt a little unnatural, but something like that would be an easy enough fix. I thought overall that it was a nice mix and fit the theme. Well done!
nice execution on waltz, can hear the triple meter.
Not sure why exactly. but the snare didn't seem like it belonged in the mix. i would have enjoyed this song without the snare in general. Maybe i just have some cognitive bias with snares alongside orchestral instruments? or maybe its that orchestral instruments are usually heard from a distance with a reasonable amount of reverb and the snare sounded too dry and close in relation to the other instruments? Not sure to be honest, just didnt fit for me. But great job nonetheless.
Very nice arpeggio drive in the strings and a very clear mix!
