Just playing the game give me chils. I can feel the character. Well designed

Hey, this reminded me of "The Long Dark". I wonder if you have played that. Luckily I really enjoyed the long dark, so I also had my fun with this one. It is pretty simple but it has some good atmosphere and "It just works"! Well done! :)

Developer

Thanks, glad you liked it!  In the middle of the jam, when I was thinking about whether to add some kind of plot, I realized that it turns out the long dark in 2d😂

Great game, very atmospheric and I loved the feeling of impending doom :D I managed to get 4th on the leaderboard too! I did feel like it should show your score as you play as I wanted to know if I had beaten my previous score or not.

Thanks for the feedback!

Visible score is not interesting) I wanted to get rid of the interface completely, for more atmosphere and hardcore, but I can't figure out how to pass the campfire time without the UI.

Submitted

Yeah I also like minimalist UI in games :) But I feel like for a score based game there should be something there. Perhaps for the fire you could do something like have a crackling fire sound effect that gradually gets quieter, it may not be obvious enough though.

What a cool game! I love the addition of having the axe as a hidden pickup, made the game feel nostalgic

Oh, if I  had an axe... I like this atmosphere!

Developer

Thanks. Were you able to find the axe?:)

Submitted

Nooo! There was one?

Developer

Ha ha ha, near the house

House?? Now i'm gonna find it...
UPD: Okay, I did it. But now I have a question, if this guy have a house, why doesn't he get in, haha?

Developer

It's not his house. It is abandoned (at least I tried to make it so)

really cool presentation. is it possible to find the axe

Developer

Thanks. Yes, I didn't want to talk about it straight, but apparently I need to add hints that the axe can be found.
