You there should be more advantages for burning the candle and shrinking your size, and the game doesn't fit the theme that well, but next time you'll do better, aviv :>

also, i really like the visuals

(edit) wait, you gain more light the more you burn the candle? oh, i didn’t notice, maybe you should make it more noticeable

Developer(+1)

Yeah the Light mechanic is tied to the size change, I tried to keep the tutorial as simple as possible, maybe i should have made a part that will make it clearer :>

thanks for checking out my game :D

A cool game

Loved the music and the concept of sacrificing to gain light. Easily understood and fun!

Incredibly cute! Amazing mechanics and the floaty jump really adds to the mood of the game. Instantly understood how to play, I have no complains. 5/5 review.

thank you.

I really liked the music and visuals of the game. It was pretty cool seeing how the character itself was the health bar instead of just a separate bar. Was easy to understand and was enjoyable.

Developer

Thank you! I wonderer if i should display a healthbar that would show the health, but i think that what i ended up with was cleaner.

thanks for playing :)

Dude, i loved it. The idea of "failing" in the sense of "shrinking and losing health" in order to progress and get passed obstacles is very original and fits the theme of the Jam very nicely. The art was awesome and well polished. The particle effects felt really satisfying. Music is well chosen and fits the game. The game mechanic of seeing only things in range of your light was fun! This game made a very good impression on me ;) Well done dude!

Nice game, I like the mechanic, however it can get tedious at times

Developer

Im sorry you felt that way, i tried to put the right amount of checkpoint to make it so you dont get bored or frustrated, but i guess I didnt quite work out that well.

Nah, it's just a nitpick, I enjoyed the game

Fun game! It seemed to have a good idea with purposely shrinking to be able to get forward, which was later dropped. I would have also have made obstacles/enemies glow in the dark as it seemed they sort of popped out of nowhere. The music and visuals were very nice, and without considering the theme it was a short, fun game. Good job!

Developer

Thank you, I've interpreted the theme of the jam in this game by making it so every time you die you leave a small spot of light that makes it easier to see the enemies, thats also why you cant see them in the dark spots.

I liked the art style in this, its cute and well animated. I felt that some parts were a little unfair because you cant see the enemies till theyre right on top of you, maybe that was a design choice? either well, well done.

Thanks for checking my game out!

I tried to make some parts a bit harder to pass on the first run, because the main idea of the game is that when you die you make your next run easier by lighting up the map, but if I had more time I would probably balance the difficulty a bit :)
