Looks nice, although it's assets flips, so... take that for what it is. It's way too hard and it's missing any juice to give the player excitement and sense of reward. I couldn't beat the AI a single time in 5 rounds and just stopped having fun. I think a big part of that is you're giving the player nav points in a maze or narrow corridors they have no yet explored. Intentionally making the first few rounds have only one item to retrieve and giving the player a lot of time would give them a chance to learn the layout a bit before just losing repeatedly. Also misses the mark for the action verb in the theme of "collaborate" with AI because you're just competing against it (and the "AI" is really just the time limit). I think with some more development time it could be fun though.

Developer

Hi thanks for the feedback. Try getting upgrades if you want to win, but the purpose is to find a way to contact the AI and not just do what your boss tells you.

Cool game! Really hard though

Thanks for trying it out! You’re correct, and it sounds like most people need to buy upgrades before they’re able to consistently beat the timer.

I’ve actually taken a lot of this feedback and made bug fixes to my submission to the LTGD game jam that ends this week. Really appreciate everyone’s feedback.

Tried to find the AI, could not, needs more hints to the solution very clearly, if nobody can figure out the answer, then it's too obscure

Developer

Yeah, it takes a bit (too much I guess) of exploration. (There’s a big hint in the thumbnail)

The game looks really nice and holy cow, the protagonist sure doesn't skip leg day with those jumps! Other than that, the gameplay is pretty simple but it doesn't really fit the theme very well. But it's really fun to play Parkour with the warehouse :)

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

I guess the hint isn’t obvious enough, the point is not to win or lose, it’s to find the AI and convince it to stop fighting :/

I don’t think anyone has found the solution yet lol

Submitted(+1)

Yeah, I remember the boss saying something about that. I think part of the problem is that after he mentions the AI you don't really see or hear anything about it and there aren't any major visual clues to show you where it might be.

Developer

Yeah, the clue was the flashlight and the thumbnail of the flashlight. But I think people worry about the timer too much and also instantly forget about the upgrades.

Probably just too much to hold in your head at once for a game jam.

The visuals made my laptop struggle to load them, the timer was way too short, and even after reading the instructions I was confused (although that might just be because i'm very tired today),

Developer(+1)

Yeah, I figured it might be too heavy for a game jam but I was also doing a challenge for YouTube which meant I could only use those assets, so shrug.

Incredible art. Good job !

Developer

Thank you! Just to be clear, I didn’t make the assets myself. I also do this challenge on YouTube every month where I restrict myself to use the assets in Unreal’s “free for the month” giveaway to make a game. So I decided to enter this jam and do my challenge at the same time.

Submitted(+1)

It is more incredible if you did this with restricted asset :)

Submitted(+1)

I didn't quite understand the game but visual are really good ♥

FEEDBACKS :

  • no AZERTY support…
  • visual seems realistic so I wasn’t expecting to jump that high
  • no clear tutorial
Developer(+1)

Thanks there’s a door marked with a (?), and it’s also directly in front of you when you spawn. I guess I should have just forced you to talk to it first.

Submitted

Yes, I saw it but after it, there is too many mark to follow. Maybe the first room could be smaller to do the first task really fast and understand "ok, that's what I've to do" :3

I dont think the time is fair for the player, i was late in every delivery. Pls increase the time. The graphics are awesome, did you made all the assets?

Feel free to check out my game

Developer

No, I actually work on a YouTube series where I try to make a game each month use Unreal’s “Free for the month” assets. So I combined that challenge with this game jam and restricted myself to use the assets that happened to be available this month.

Yeah, if you upgrade it gets really easy, but the point isn’t to win or lose, it’s to find the AI and convince it to stop fighting so…

You fellow unreal User! Our game was in Unity due to my team requests >.< but i wish we could make it with Unreal.

You built a very nice scene in this few time, good work! :)

Developer

Thank you, you can see the assets I used in the credits of the game. Since I do this challenge on YouTube every month where I restrict myself to use the assets in Unreal’s “free for the month” giveaway to make a game I decided to enter this jam and do my challenge at the same time.

Very good

Developer

Thank you!

Great work on the visuals, im blown away at your game in the given time crunch

I will become Aanaxom distribution center [N726-MD]'s employee of the month, just you wait!

9/10 would burn out slaving for a corporate AI again

Developer(+1)

Much appreciated! I think I should have made it really really obvious that you are NOT supposed to do that though ( ̄▽ ̄)

Submitted(+1)

Really good feeling to the controls and visually very nice! The timer is at some point a bit hard^^

Developer

It gets very easy if you get a couple upgrades, but I hoped people would take the hint to try find the AI instead of just listening to their boss (´;ω;`)ウッ… lol

Submitted(+1)

That was pretty fun! I got the ending saying that all employees will need to continually increase productivity. At first, the timer seemed too short, but once I used the upgrade terminals it became a lot easier. (I'm almost glad it ended there because I purchased a few too many speed upgrades. I was having trouble controlling the character at that point). Good job.

Developer

Thanks! It seems like a lot of people didn’t find the upgrades so I’m glad you did. I guess I should have made them stand out more?

Everything feels so clean, the visuals, the gameplay, I like how you implement the minimap and the objective markers.

Jumping, getting the items and delivering them feels so fun and responsive but I think half a minute it's just so thight that most of the time you'll be losing against it. Overall I like the idea, execution, visuals even the time limit in the paper is great. I liked it!

Developer

Thanks for the kind words! I guess I didn’t make it clear enough that you’re not actually supposed to win or lose, you’re supposed to find the hidden AI and convince it to stop fighting.

Maybe I underestimated how much people just really want to believe in what their corporate overlords tell them to do? lol

Submitted(+1)

WOW really like the visuals. Def made use of unreal's lighting and stuff. looks really good. I liked the character as well. Nice job using the sockets for the packages. I think the timer for the runs was a bit aggressive I struggled to get the jobs done on time, other than that great job! In case you are wondering about performance got about 80 fps on a 2070 and a ryzen 3900x.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I thought I had made the timer too easy, I guess I just got into a mode where I was playing a certain way.

Much appreciated feedback on the performance, I was worried about whether it might be too heavy for people as I don’t have really any experience properly optimizing things.

I hope people are able to find the different endings…
