Developer

Thank you for playing! I'm glad you had fun with it ^^

It's pretty tricky to get the timing right  but I still liked it.

Try mine too if you like:  https://itch.io/jam/wowie-jam-4/rate/1663718

Developer

Thank you for playing! I'll definitely adjust the timing after the jam ^^

Developer

I can't play your game... My computer doesn't let me :/

My highest score is 2. I tried many times but I failed. Game is fun. Liked the music and game. Nice!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for playing! The trick is to get really close to the wall, basically when the AI is touching it, then press the buttons as fast as you can xD

Submitted(+1)

Sometimes my input wasn't registered. Nice endless game nonetheless.

Developer

Thank you for playing! The timing seems to be a bit hard to get right :') I'll probably ajust it after the jam ^^

Submitted(+1)

Took me a while to understand when the input window was, but once I did it was fun! Difficult, but exciting when I finally got it right. Good job!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed it! I'll add some other timing indication after the jam ends ^^

Submitted(+1)

Bit difficult for me, but cool game nonetheless!

Well done :D

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! The timing seems to be hard to get right... I'll work on that after the jam ends ^^

Submitted(+1)

Cool game! The timing is definitely very hard, but it does make actually getting through a wall much more satisfying.

Developer

Thank you for playing! Glad you liked it ^^

As everyone said, you need to remove timer. Besides that I really enjoyed while playing it. You always want to play one more round. My highscore is 7 and after a countless tries I can't even pass 1 now :D

Musics and graphics are really cute.  Gamedesign is 5/5 on topic. Graphics are really good and little details like potted cactus and USB flash makes the atmoshphere a lot of better.  Good job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed the art ^^

About the timing, I'll add something to make it better after the jam ends! But you just gotta wait until you are touching the wall xD

Submitted(+1)

Very simple game; although I couldn't quite tell what the timing was and it took me very long to figure out.

Developer

Thank you for playing and for the feedback! I'll probably ajust the timing after the jam is over ^^

Submitted(+1)

That's some good simple fun!  Love the visual style and colours, and the audio fits perfectly.  Gameplay-wise, the timing is a bit unclear so I just ended up mashing the buttons in order and praying...  Could be a great rhythm/combo game with some refining!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing and for the feedback! I'll probably ajust the timing or add some other indication of when to press the button when the jam ends ^^

Submitted(+1)

Maybe a gauge that fills up and you want to hit it at the right point?  It's the classic rhythm game tactic but I reckon it could also feel good and code-cracky in this context :)

Developer(+1)

Good call! Thank you ^^

The game was simple and sweet, liked the break the firewall mechanics . The difficulty curve wasnt much, maybe you could consider steadily increasing the speed of the game.  But good work , enjoyed playing it !

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much for playing it and for the feedback! If I decide to update the game, I'll definitely follow your tip ^^

Submitted(+1)

Nice art and concept! Maybe make the timing a bit more generous^^

Developer

Thank you so much for playing! Yeah, I'll ajust the timing if I decide to update this game after the jam ^^

Submitted(+1)

cute concept! timing is a bit hard to get used to, but other than that, fun highscore game! would work great as a mobile game too!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for playing and for the feedback! I'll keep it in mind ^^

Submitted(+1)

I like the art and concept but the timing felt a bit finnicky at times. other than that pretty good!

Developer

Thank you for playing and for the feedback! I'll try to give more hints on the timing if I decide to update the game after the jam!

Submitted(+1)

Really fun game! Good job with the simplicity and managing to tie it into the AI theme. I really like that it has the same reaction-timing concept of a rhythm game, but it's different in that you have to switch between planning out your next moves, and then executing them as quickly as possible, which I think makes it more interesting than just mindlessly pressing the buttons at the right times. Overall great job!

Developer

Thank you for playing and for the feedback! I'm glad you had fun with it ^^

Had a lot of fun with this one, my strategy is to mash every button, I know that's not the supposed way but I really enjoyed it  ! :D

Developer

Hahaha thanks for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed it ^^

Cute little game!

I liked the visual style, helping the Ai on a computer. Although, were probably just getting a virus getting it past this many firewalls...

It can be hard at first to know when to press the buttons, since all we are given is "when I am close to". Which led my first few tries just finding out how close "close" is. This can be a hard thing to develop for, since once you've played it for long enough you don't see this as an issue since you then know the timing.

I found some of the strings to be more fun than others, (while I assume they are randomly generated), ones like Up, Right, Down are fun since then you can "slide" down the arrows.

I can see more being added to this, like longer strings to type out (with more time to press them) and maybe some ways to change up the idea. Like doing a small sequence, then having to remember it and do it in reverse. Becoming a game like One Finger Death Punch.

I found most of my errors were just when my brain decided to stop focusing, and just get me out of sync. I think having the order be told through visuals would help this, since then you don't have to process the words.

Although I did find out that you can just spam all of the arrows, and you will still get it correct... maybe have some implementation to make sure the sequence is pressed in the correct order.

Nice job!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing and more the amazing feedback! I'm seeing people asking for the indication they pressed the arrow correctly and now thanks to you I know that they simply couldn't figure out the timing, so the colors never appeared for them :')
I might add more stuff to this game later, so I'll keep all these tips in mind! Again, thank you so much ^^

Some feedback when I press the correct buttons would make the game so much better

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thank you for playing! The feedback are those red, green and blue lights that appear! If you press the first one correctly, red light appears. Second one, green light. Final one, blue light ^^ If you press too early, nothing will appear!

(+1)

I like the art very much and this game has a very interesting game concept. The only thing I would add is an indication that I pressed all the buttons in the sequence. All in all, Well Done!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing! I'm glad you like the art! About the indication, that's why those red, green and blue lights appear! Thanks for the feedback tho ^^

Oh okay. You’re welcome!
