This game is definitely good. The gameplay is smooth, all the SFX are well done and the art is amazing. It's really fun to open all those gifts so I wouldn't be surprised to see hours passing by while I try to complete my collection.  Texts are fun as well and overall is one of the best games i've seen so far. Congratulations!

If possible, check out our game too! we would apreciate your feedback!

Really fun game, i really liked the gameplay since it's kinda similar to OSU!. The gifts collection system is really good, and i enjoy having my yoyo collection there haha. Overall i truly enjoyed playing the game and collecting my gifts.

Developer

I loved that you were seduced by the collecting aspect, I love it too aha !!
Thanks for your review and for the time ! <3

A fun game~! I love the art style! Would have been good to include some kind of flashing/warning when a slider is about to run out. But otherwise awesome work!

Please check out my teams entry~! https://itch.io/jam/yogscast-game-jam-2020/rate/843977

Developer

Oh yeah I completely agree on the flashing point. Didn't have the time unfortunately :(
Thanks for the review !

Yaeh I'm gonna play your game, A.A fan as I am, I'm gonna enjoy it !

Amazing game, but next time try not to throw piles of text or many rules at the player. I mean in this case it is ok - just 4 rules, but next time, try considering an interactive tutorial. Overall, solid entry!

Developer

Thank you for the review !
Yeah I considered an interactive tutorial, but being the sole dev and with the amount of work
we still had to do, I didn't want to lower the game's quality by being late...so I chose a 'middle point' : text to explain and a training mode !
But I totally agree with ya, thanks so much !

I'm really bad at it, but it looks and plays great!

Thank you so much !

A super fun recreation of OSU-style gameplay, I loved all the different unlockable items! I think my only real complaint would be the amount of time given to collect the gifts in, as it can feel a little grind-y at times. Other than that though, it was a lot of fun!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing !
Yeah you're right on the grind-y feeling, it might need tweaking !

Tough but fun, love all the little details

Developer

Thanks !

My hand doesn't go quick enough xD
I found it quick tough of normal, but I won't let that affect anything. The game is really well made and looks really good - especially for a game jam game. Lot's of juicy features which made the game feel real good to play!

Developer

Thank you so much for your review <3
Yeah it seems like our testers weren't startled enough by the difficulty...

I am terrible at games like OSU, but this was pretty good. shame that (I don't know if it is because I am on web version) but the slider ones don't seem to work properly, you can just drag then to the end point, missing any like loop in the track.

Developer

Thank you for playing !
No it actually is not a bug from the web version it comes from the way the slider is calculated : it finds the nearest position from the cursor and puts it here...so on sliders where there are tiny curves, you can just tp to the end !
Thanks for the review !

The gameplay is very fun and I like the concept of opening presents to see what's inside (my favorite part of the holidays!). The gameplay is exilerating, it reminds me of OSU. It was hard for me to play with only a trackpad, but overall it was very good. Thanks for the fun : )

Developer

Thank you for that review and for playing the game !

Not my kind of game, but after a few to many 0 opened attempts got a 3 opened win, the graphics are awesome.

Developer

Thank you for keeping at it and persevering !

Well built.
Extremely difficult but its certainly fun.

Developer

Thanks ! Yeah it seems like it is hard indeed aha, our testers didn't find out that while testing !

Submitted(+1)

The difficulty seems to ramp way up, but it could be I'm just not great at the game. Love your graphics and design!

Developer

Ahaha no it's most probably not you, difficulty isn't changing in the same mode actually, but in spite of the game being played by some beta testers it seems like the game is a bit too hard !
Thanks for your review !

Ahh only 1 present on my first try, but at least it was a crown so I still feel like a winner. Did you develop the controls with a touch screen in mind? I feel like that would be easier than playing with a mouse.

Developer(+1)

Lucky you !
Yeah, it needs a bit of practice to go through properly in normal (one or two games, or a few seconds in training mode).
Touch screen would probably be easier, we went for a Osu! like ! But yeah in the future, why not a touch screen ! Thanks for your review !
