Very peaceful yet bright track. I can see it fit well during conversations between characters in-game. As well as be a overworld looping piece too. Nice work.

Thanks! I really did want to create two different moods because that's kindof how our minds are most of the time. I knew exactly which part you were talking about with the second track at 2:00. lol It did the same with me and I would just loop that part over and over and just feel. Thank you for the kind words and condolences.
Thanks for checking it out and the feedback. The anticipation frames would be where I'd lean to go. Cause of time constraints I had to set a timer for that attack collision to fire instead of programming it based on the frames in the animation which would have been better for the player to stop the attack from causing damage all together. I'd like to revisit this and flesh it out and make the animations instead of using mixamo in the future.
You got me by a few years (38) but it's never too late as long as we are able to get up each day and be healthy enough to keep pushing towards goals. By the way I made it all the way to LVL 50. Didn't expect a end. Halfway through I found a spot and said "am I safe here?" and as soon as I said that I got hit with a wine glass. lol Here is my little game if anyone wants to check it out.
To be honest, I was thinking about doing the 1 hp with my game but decided to not go full Dark Souls mode. lol Your game's mechanics and gameplay loop flow very well together. For me, the only thing that was a struggle sometimes was remembering there was a mouse cursor to show me where I was aiming. Most of the time I was just guessing by where my shots were going. The dash timing/iframes feels good too. Not one time did I feel like it was the games fault I was hit. I knew it was on me.
I love how it goes from a slight VN feel into running a hotdog stand. The one thing that I felt was overwhelm. The game running while the tutorial was going felt a bit overwhelming. I think mainly because there are a lot of things and text on the screen to take in very quickly. Also, don't know if anyone else had the same bug or if it's part of the game, but clicking on the customer not only shows again what they want but lowers rep each time you click on them. Honestly it made me laugh cause I would just click super fast on a customer to confirm this and I watched as my rep just dropped so quick. I believe your game would be a good one if fleshed out. Haven't really seen any hot dog stand simulation type games around.
Got to agree with the atmosphere and the storytelling. Both are done very well. I also like how the "teaching the player" tutorial parts are done. They are done more in a way that doesn't break the flow of the game much. I did run into the pause menu bug and getting pass the second area was a bit difficult. It's cool that you added checkpoints. The second heal pad in the second area seemed not to heal. I don't know if that was on purpose or not. But the wind was a bit of a hassle to deal with at that point.
Yeah the big enemy's attack at still fire if they aren't hit quickly before they start the attack animation. I wanted to set up the attack to fire only at a certain point in the animation but ran out of time so it's set up to a small timer instead. Honestly that enemy was getting on my nerves when I was trying to get a gun from it. lol I think the expressions are the best. I would love to flesh out this into a full game and give the slime hero many expressions and forms to evolve into.
To everybody taking part in this jam congrats. Whether you will be able to submit or not, the fact that you stuck through it all the way is an amazing thing. Be proud of what you made or what your team made together.
Balancing work/life with these 10 days was rough but doable. Here is the small little gem I created. Simple but I had a chance to create different systems and find ways to have them communicate which each other and get along. I have a little more time but because of the time difference here in Japan, I needed to finish and submit a bit early.
Hello everyone. I hope all is well. I just want to share a small project called Gimme Snacks. It is very short, with 10 waves in total with the current version. It's a small project I wanted to make as part of a 2023 goal of making 3 small games with 4 months given to each. It's a challenge but fun. My main focus is Japanese so that's why there is a lot of it and yes I can speak and use it. I made a few YouTube videos of the progress each month. I need to make the final one soon.
