Fun game! I liked the use of a checkpoint. I think a progression system for your attacks could help break up some of the monotony you get in the game. Maybe different spells? Or power ups? Something so you don't just have the same attack over and over. Or maybe a special "freeze" attack that stops time for a couple of seconds to allow the player to get out of a situation. The dash was nice, but it seems like you're not invincible through the entire dash as I was passing through a spider, he moved with me and I died before I had stopped dashing. The core of the game was well done. Good job!

Yes, all sprites / tilesets were free assets on itch. Sfx, text boxes, particles, and mouse cursor were also free itch assets. I have linked the pages where I got all my assets in the description of the game.

Really cool game! I couldn't beat it but boy did I want to keep trying. That's the sign of a good game, I think. Neat idea and fun controls. I saw you commented on how everyone said it was hard, and I think one option to keep the difficulty but make it more accessible would be to add an additional checkpoint mode that has more checkpoints to restart from every once in a while, while keeping a current difficulty mode option. Great stuff, keep it up! Thanks for sharing.
thank you so much, I’m so happy to hear that you enjoyed the game! I really like the idea of a difficulty system like that because I am somewhat attached to the game being difficult, and I think some players will really enjoy overcoming that challenge, but many others can’t get past the first few rooms and I’d like them to experience more of the game. So I think the best balance is a difficulty setting like you mentioned. Thank you again!
I totally understand what you're saying! To me, a good level of difficulty is part of compelling game design, especially when it comes to survival- and exploration-based games. Got me some 8 hours of sleep just now so I'm looking forward to playing this game again and seeing how far I can get! I'm making a little video for YouTube about some of the games I played and found to be very compelling during this game jam, is it okay if I include this one?
This is a well-made survival game! I like your choice of assets; they all mesh together nicely. The controls felt really good, though I did accidentally restart my game when I pressed escape out of habit thinking it would pause the game instead. I couldn't finish the game, but I liked how the rooms gradually became greener after the checkpoint; it made me want to keep going despite dying so many times.
While playing I was wondering how many people made this and once I saw it was only you it made me even more impressed, very good job! Loved the assets you used and the feel!
Nice movement and shooting, a lot of fun to play. Pacing was also good, not too hard to start with (I see you rebalanced after feedback, which is great!). Liked the music and art style. Well done!
I liked the concept of a 1hp bullet hell game! The music, level design, and enemy sprites match well together.
There were some instances where enemies might get stuck behind pillars, perhaps some pathfinding tweaks will help with that. But otherwise, game was smooth with no bugs encountered.
Solid entry!
An effective bullet hell, well done! I like the art assets you used!
I'll admit, at one point I tried to access the menu by pressing escape and instantly restarted. I think tying "instant restart" to that key is a debatable design decision, especially since Escape is often used to free the mouse cursor from other types of browser games (or to open the game menu).
But the enemy designs are very good, and in general this is well-crafted. Great work overall!
Classical bullet hell, Love it. I'm noob at games. Pretty nice music thank you
I'm sooo bad at shooting the rats on the second room! I tried like a dozen time I do not know what should iI do to open the door. I really liked your music, please make more music, it's very good :)
Cool entry. It gets difficult, but oh well. I enjoyed having all the needed elements, sprites, animations, sound and music. Nice.
Love the sound design of this game a lot. Everything comes together so nicely. Had a great time playing it.
I like the game and the concept, reminded me of Smash Tv or Binding of Isaac. A little tough with 1 hp, but auto fire and spamming the dash helps. Encountered a few bugs like able to leave the room before enemies were dead, going through a different colored wall or still moving when dead. Only thing gameplay wise was enemies getting stuck on obstacles and it made it easy to pick them off later.
Simple concept but I love bullet hells and it's executed so nicely! Feels good to play and u need to see what's in the next room everytime you die haha nice job
AHH kept dying in the second room, I just can't get passed the spiders ;-;
Aside from my skill issues, I had a lotta fun playing this game, I'll definitely be coming back to it later to try the spider level again! The art is perfect, gameplay is fun and challenging, sound effects and music spot on, it surely can get addictive playing it more than once!
I liked the clean, good mechanics and smooth look of everything. Details like how the explosion looked when killing enemies as well as the subtle look of even the projectile you were shooting were pleasing and added to the unique cool look and feel of the game. Overall, great job!
Easy mechanic but still gives quite a challange to play! Well done mate!
If you have time, I would really like to hear your thoughts on our game and get your rating ;)
