This is devastatingly lonely and really well done. The atmosphere and artstyle feel fittingly lonely, and I liked observing the town as I played. The climate of the region and how the characters live within it feels very real, and the way you present this game is unique and fresh. It's environmental without having to place values on the environment itself, if that makes sense. A few bugs prevented me from completing the game, but I'd really love to take a good chunk of time to finish it in the near future.
Well polished and delightfully minimalistic! I enjoyed adding sidewalks and bike lanes to my city, although it would've been nice to provide more customization options. The overall structure of the map is fun to work with but I was unsure if I was able to reconfigure parking lots or add more greenery. I'm assuming a lot's dependent on the emissions level going down (I presume I ran into the same glitch as other commenters here!) Would love to play once this is fixed.
I really like the game overall, but I fear the scope worked against the game's design. The map and systems are vast and well thought out from what I can see in the game design document, but I didn't have enough direction on what exactly to do. I was only able to collect 2 ingredients (the flowers and the sunburnt mushrooms), as I was unable to get past the river and clipped through the map when I reached the area with the goo mushrooms. I'm really excited to see this polished though, the artstyle is charming and reminds me of older Playstation games! I'd say this game would be able to do a lot more if you shrunk the map and put a lot of thought into the remaining areas, especially with how complex this game's progression system is. Overall, there's a lot of potential here, so looking forward to what you do with more time.
I really like the art direction in the promotion, and I'm excited to see how it looks in the final product. I'd like a lot more direction in how I should play the game - the controls feel disorienting and it's hard to justify exploring when that's the case. The themes are also interesting, excited to see how this ends up.
Cat game! Cat Game!! Wahoo!
I like the idea of blending the natural and unnatural (and I am curious if you'll talk about domestication and cats in urban spaces as well) and the focus on green transport is great. Paper prototypes and level layout looks great. I am having a bit of trouble understanding how the puzzles function, but there's a lot of promise in the concept.
+ I'm also excited to see how you'll develop the world!
