Hey! It's really useful to get such comprehensive feedback on my game. It's interesting to watch how another person plays, and even uncover bugs I didn't know existed (e.g. the boat not being there after a death :D)
Whilst i'm a little disappointed with the Enjoyment rating, I understand your points of frustration with the game. Thanks for putting the effort into such a detailed review
I really like the artwork, especially the character design. As others have mentioned, the void mechanic is super cool, has so much potential and perfectly fits the game. I'm also really impressed that you have made a more or less complete game.
I think implementing a world map was a nice feature, especially given the size of the world, but revealing the entire world at the start I think takes away from the exploration aspect.
Great job!
This game succeeded in being atmospheric, bleak and just strange. Kinda interesting concept to not go for exploration of multiple levels but to explore the same level over and over. Whilst that could be a cool concept it did make it very linear - perhaps multiple entrances and exits could solve this?
You did a lot with the minimal graphical style but I think it needed a bit more to make me want to keep playing the same level.
Very interesting though! Good job
Really good entry!
I really liked the aesthetics and audio, there was a nice variety of monsters which kept the combat fresh and exciting.
I also liked the camera being centered somewhere between the player and the cursor, it gave the game a different "feel".
The rabbit cave was really nice - after a lot of intense platforming and fighting, chatting to rabbits was a much needed respite!
Excellent job!
Hey! I absolutely loved the artstyle of this game, and I really appreciated the dialogues and story at the start. Levels were cool and spacious, and I wanted to keep exploring. The designs of the main character, npcs and monsters were super cool.
Personally I found the combat a bit awkward. It was quite tricky to aim at the enemies, and I think there should have been some pushback or stuttering when you did them.
Overall great job!
Great job on the writing, there were some really beautiful parts and I could tell you had put in a lot of effort with the story.
Personally I would have appreciated some more graphics and interactive parts like the gravestone.
Overall, I think this is a great entry and I enjoyed playing it. Well done :)
This is such an amazing entry. The story-telling, dialogues, graphics, sound, transitions, ... everything was spot on. Not sure what else to add :D
Fantastic job and I can't wait to play more of your games.
(p.s. there was a small bug after the dialogue with the two flames - the interactable object remained in the scene so you could keep replaying the same dialogue)
Hey!
The game had good narrative and and explored some interesting themes. From the small talk to the more emotional admissions, the conversation felt genuine.
I thought the choice and execution of the boardgame was perfect, and the combination of playing with the conversational dialogues really sold the concept. The only thing I would say is it became quite repetitive. After the 9th game, I had had enough of playing the same game and kinda just wanted to see where the dialogues went.
Graphics and audio were simple but fitting.
Good job!
