Sorry for such an expository ending, i did not have the time to properly write it; it was done literally at the last hour.

This one is a masterpiece! You did a great job!

I really like the visuals, music and musical transitions, day\night transitions.

Faced a bug as everyone else here did so won't be saying anything on that :)

The story is interesting, intriguing and kinda dark. I loved dialogues though.

Anyway, it's 10/10 man!

i really loved the aesthetic. the pencil-like art style along with the music and story really made this game stand out. perfect length too, it didn't feel rambling or dragged out.

the story itself was lovely. it fit the theme perfectly imo.

the dialogue section between the keeper and two flames has a bug where the sequence will replay itself if you click the keeper again. nothing to rate down on of course, but just thought i'd mention it.

overall this was fantastic.  great work with this :D

Thank you for playing and for your comment!

Yes, everyone seems to find that bug while i did not see it until the very end. I guess this is because i knew where to click next, so i never tried anything else :-P

cute story. Even though I'm not good at English, it is not difficult to read.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I am not good at English either, so i do not write difficult texts :)

Really really cute stuff.  Great little story. fun character portraits. There's a clipping issue on the second and last nights where the Keeper is down stairs flipping from ghost to ghost. the same happens upstairs when the ghost appears.

Your game was an absolute treat.

Thank you for your comment.

I saw the clipping issue but had no time to investigate its cause before the deadline. Nevertheless, thank you for letting me know!

Really cute ! Love the graphics (especially when night come over, I find that really pretty).
I don't think the end was "rushed", I loved it !

Overall, really great work ! :D

PS : the sound effect to tell you you can interact (with the mouse), made me laugh, cause it made me think of a weapon xD

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much for your comment! I really appreciate it.

The interactivity’s sound effect is actually a camera shutter, but it would not surprise me if it was a common Foley trick used for gun reload or the like, so yes, it sounds very alike.

Wow, what a fantastic game, it's not often I'm that blown away by a jam game!

In your game description, you say that the hand-drawn style took you a long time, maybe too long, but it's really worth it in my opinion, everything is beautiful, like an animated story book <3

I think if you're planning to keep working on this game, I would love to see what you originally had in mind for the ending, but it does feel a little bit rushed compared to the rest.

Thank you for making me discover this composer too, the music was perfect for the game!

Thank you very much for playing, and for your comment!

Now that everything is done, i also believe that the hand-drawn style was worth the time and effort it took, if only because it is different from what i usually do, but during development i could not help but think that it was taking me too much time.  Time that i could better spend on some other parts, such as the ending, that feels rushed because it is—had to do it in four hours or so.

I love Kevin MacLeod’s music for games: It is unusual that i can’t find a suitable piece from his collection, and they are licensed in CC that makes it even better.

This is such an amazing entry. The story-telling, dialogues, graphics, sound, transitions, ... everything was spot on.  Not sure what else to add :D

Fantastic job and I can't wait to play more of your games.

(p.s. there was a small bug after the dialogue with the two flames - the interactable object remained in the scene so you could keep replaying the same dialogue)

Developer

Thank you for your uplifting comment! I am glad you liked it 😊.

As for the bug you found, it happens also with the scene with the single hitodama/flame, but i only saw it when as recording the GIF at the very end and did not have time to fix it.  Nevertheless, thank you for reporting it.
