For now difficulty increases exponentially over time, and there is no cap on balls level

There are some bugs, exploits and lack of content but I hope to work on it after the jam! 

The game you might think of is "Super auto pets"

The only cap is max step, which is the current leaderboard one, if you beat current #1 on step x, you will enter a final preparation phase and your creature will be register for step x+1. But I think we might be hitting the current versions limit there

Its basically a super auto pets remake :) And yeah the second dimension can add some potential, but I've been struggling to find intersting mecanics during the jam. Hope to get back to it later !

Hi Horatio, I 100% agree with your point, and it was also frustrating for me during the jam because I had some ideas, like adding much more non-weapon stuffs (keys, bomb etc) but it was a bit too late and I felt like the concept wasnt made for a boss rush format :(

When selecting items the game is already x10 slower 🤔

The one shot thingy is weird because you cant lose more than 1HP and get a 1sc invunerability after taking damages, I'll look at it tho 

If you are wielding a key when the doors spawns, there is a high chance that one will be a chest room, which contain a weapon of the same rarity as the key (you can upgrade keys), and an amount of gold equivalent to the price of that weapon

Gameplay is refreshuing, top visuals, top music, and special award for the incredible boss/level designs !
The only thing I could point out is that the exchange mecanic is not the center of the game

Thats an ok space shooter, the exchange mecanic is a bit weak IMO
Sometimes boss shoots unavoidable bullets patterns :(
Cool visuals and color palette :)

As been said, controls feels great but dealing damage is tedious
Lower the speed treshold needed to deal damages or make Toddo pass through enemies would make it easier
Great pixel art anyway :)

Good art indeed, for me what the game lacks is a better way to identify hitboxes, mainly for the players attacks (and maybe add a visual weapon slash with a bit of reach as I made in my entry :wink:)

With some animations and more variety this could be a great game ! :)

A shame because it looks fun !

The game lacks some feedbacks, the bosses seems braindead and I didnt understand how the spells work apart from, when I use red, it consume blue energy ?
Despite those facts, the generated terrain are a pleasure to watch and move around !

Yo, really nice game ! Visuals are top notch and music super engaging !
The game currently have some spot where the boss can't hit you, which can be exploited to never die

Controls arent the most intuitive for me (you could have swapped J/K for Left click/right click), and gamepad control would have been fire !
Either way, nothing much to say, its bloody gorgeous !

I wished dodge would cancel attack animation but that the only thing I could think of

As its been said, the game is enjoyable but lacks some kind of feedbacks (eg : current turn indicator, mana well glow on the "mini map")
Either way, the music and general mood is really good !

Jars have a chance to drop a heart, increasing drop rate as your HP lowers

Campfire rooms will also heal you to full HP

I will provide a windows build this week-end! 

There are two stones to unlock, one by beating the boss, the other by picking up a specific upgrade

Really well put together setup, I really liked the audio and that ps1 shader was good :)

The only thing is that its unclear how to scan frequencies (a visual help would have been great), and how scans makes you progress or not (if its the case, I've scanned at least 5 times but couldnt check kitchens items)

Write some movies already ! 

Amazing storytelling/game skills at work, 10/10

First time you pull the wire like "waaaaat", in a good way :)

Like its been said, post processings can be a bit too harsh in the end (wavy one too wavy)

Oh and the audio was really nice !

Very good visual implementation ! 

Some added mecanics could lead to a really interesting puzzle game, like having a limited number of cells and the possibility to fail if the required combinations are ruined by your own moves, all that with a fixed camera ... but that's a whole new gameplay :)
