Impressively polish presentation !
I was so happy when I realize I could jump again and reroll the number dice if I wasn't happy with it. This adds reflexes to the randomness and gives a bit of control.
The -1 on the number for each reroll is also cool.
Very cool game ! A bit too random for my taste still ;)
Of all these "I am a dice that rolls and defeat foes with my numbers", this is one of (if not) the best.
1) The preview on the ground lets you see what you will roll before commiting
2) The time stops when you're not moving leaving you some time to consider what to do
3) You can roll several time a small number to beat a bigger one
These seem to be "small" improvements on paper but the stack up and make a huge difference !
Congrats for doing one of the most polish games in this new genre XD
You know what... I rarely give full score for a game... But there you go !
The concept, the art, the game design ! Everything was awesome !
It's a bit hard to understand at first. And there is obvious room for improvement (like more ways to interact with the structures and slimes) but it is super fun and creative !
Really impressive work !
Thanks !
I definitely agree with you ! The game sorely lacks background music and tutorial levels (and a control guide).
It's just a shame we didn't have the time to add any of it.
As for what the structures do... Tbh, they do nothing at this point... We only had time to implement the summoning tiles : 1, 2 & 3.
The four-tress (see what I did there ;) ) was supposed to block ennemy movement, and the 6-temple was supposed to heal/ressurect units.
It just was too ambitious a scope for such a short jam.
Godamn that presentation ! Art, music and animation are all top-notch.
If I had to nitpick I'd say "it's sad the guy you fight is not the same as the one you see in the room" XD
I loved all the mini games. I especially liked that, at some point, I just knew how to win "drop the ball" every single time.
Great game !
