Thank you very much for your feedback ! You can roll to switch weapons, by moving while pressing CTRL, ALT or right click. It’s only randomly switched when you take damage

The graphics are quite basic, but the visual and sound effects are really pleasing ! The difficulty curve is a bit weird, it’s really easy for the ~25 first jumps, then it gets much harder very fast.

Still, it’s a nice game to play during transit, a bit lile flappy bird with more juice

My brain overheats each time the character & the shade cross the horizontal line ^^

I find it a bit disorienting that switching characters also switches the terrain. Maybe a color change / visual effects could be enough to show the control changes?

Very cool game and good level designs !

yes, I think you’d need some kind of A* that allows to backtrack once you reached certain points of interest, taking into account that you cannot have over 3 hearts, that monsters disappear when killed with a sword, etc.

Some people can probably do this in a few minutes, but it’s not something I would tackle in a 48h game jam :p

It’s actually quite hard to automatically find the best path for the character (take an item, heal a bit, another item, heal more, take the exit).

We considered that taking the first available route was a decent alternative, since you can decide yourself which objective are available first with the order of the pieces.

I think you misunderstood what happened.

The final version of the game (the one you can play right now) was uploaded 11min before the original deadline. You can also check for yourself on your game page that you cannot upload new versions of your game, because it is currently being reviewed for the game jam.

The date you see at the bottom of the game page is the modification date of the game description & information (as allowed by the rules), not the game itself.

Cute little game :) The cursor shaking is a bit unwieldy on desktop, but it’s nice to have it

A lot of fun ! I wish the game lasted longer :(

BTW, I’m a bit disappointed that you set an altitude limit in the first screen, I immediately tried to fly into space after finishing the game :p

Also, +1 for the gross cuteness of the artstyle :)

I wish the character could aim toward the cursor, instead of rotating by moving the mouse left / right Otherwise it’s pretty good and the art is visually pleasing :)

Relaxing & pleasing, with very good graphics ! 5/5

Amazing !

The controls are a bit unwieldy at first, but fine since you can always drop planks on the floor to align them.

I wish there were more levels with more complex joints :)

Very beautiful art, with compelling fire/cold breath animations !

I love the game mechanics ! This is a really interesting coop game, that could easily become a “full” game. I love the mouth animation while jumping ^^

Thanks a lot for your feedback ! :)

Repositioning pieces was definitely on the roadmap, but we were in a rush before the deadline ^^

With a bit more time, we would probably have made decent character and monster sprites, with basic animations. Curiously the sound effects only took a few minutes to record ^^

they were fun to make :)

Thank you so much for your feedback !

This jam has been a lot of fun to participate, and we’re looking forward to ExtraCredits Game Jam #7 ;)

TBH I never thought about how a hex grid could be handled. I found this very interesting https://www.redblobgames.com/grids/hexagons/ (especially the cube coordinates)

Thanks for hinting me toward this :)

Nice and chill game !

It’s a shame that you didn’t have enough time to fix the plant merging :(

Very funny and cute, and the platforming felt good :)

Just one very minor remark: jumping when the jump key is down (rather than when pressed) is a bit more forgiving when you have the tendency to press jump a fraction of a second before landing (I’m not great at pressing the buttons at the right time ^^)

Thank you so much <3

Level 16 is really one step harder than everything else. We added it because first play testers found the game “too easy” :p

Simple and relaxing game, with incredible art style ! Everything is very well polished

(1 edit)

Alright ! I unmuted everything and it’s much better now :)

Great polished entry !

Nice little game !

Maybe a more top-down view would have made it easier to spot incoming lumberjacks

Thanks for playing and for the comments :)

We had a relative that reported a random game crash near the end, but we could not reproduce the bug. Maybe it happens when the game runs for too long. Anyway, you can restart the game and skip the levels you already solved with the arrows on the top left corner ;)

The art is really awesome ! Most people using the 4-color palette went for pixel art, but your vector-like graphics are really dope !

IMHO the game is a bit punishing when you kill the hero after spending some time to move to the right spot.

Nonetheless the gameplay was very enjoyable :)

Cute art and animations <3

Great idea and graphics !

The controls are a bit too unwieldy for my taste ^^ (especially the bump you get when getting damaged)

Really interesting mechanics !

I love how naturally you use the flame to shield you from bullets because it’s always at the opposite side.

The art is very good too.

With a bit more content it could be a fully featured game !

Nice infiltration game ! The music and visuals are excellent :)

Level 2 felt like a good challenge, but I got caught after reaching the level exit and before clicking continue :/

Good game idea, I would loved to get a bit more time to finish at least one painting ^^

I found it a bit hard to know if a cell was dirty on darker paintings

I love the art style (the owl is so cute). You achieved a very clever use of the 4-color palette !

I found it very hard to drop the crates at the right position: sometimes it would fall between two tiles, making small gap between two crates

Nice game ! It gets really hard if you don’t kill the demons in time (which is good)

It would benefit a lot from sound effects (like simple beeps when the player get hit and when killing a demon)

I love how the cat is animated and has different sprites depending on its state (dirty, asleep, etc.)

It would be interesting to have some cards with negative side effects (like lasagnas that gives +3 hunger and -3 dirtiness)

If you’re curious, the level 10 introduces the sliding mechanic and is very simple ;)

I added the button on the last day, because I couldn’t stand the music any more. Don’t get me wrong, the music is really awesome (huge shout out to Scott Buckley for composing such lovely musics with free licensing), but after listening it non-stop during the whole game jam (we found it quite early), muting it while keeping the hedgehog sounds was a relief ^^

I don’t know why but I find some munchies very disturbing…

Maybe you’ve gone a bit too far on the juiciness, especially for the screen shake on each shot.

Anyway the mechanics are pretty good, and it’s always great to learn new things while playing :)

Buzz buzz ! (this should be a meme :p )

The mechanics are very simple, but the result is very satisfying !

The art is sketchy and great, and the animations are the cherry on top !

It would be great to be able to get a hint for where the people want to go, so the player could try to save them immediately rather than losing and restarting the level (especially for level 4)

Nice little game :) It would be cool to find a way to pressure the player towards the hands (like shaking hands once it’s clean, or dead ends in the level design), because right now it’s a bit too easy to avoid them
