Thank you very much for your feedback ! You can roll to switch weapons, by moving while pressing CTRL, ALT or right click. It’s only randomly switched when you take damage

yes, I think you’d need some kind of A* that allows to backtrack once you reached certain points of interest, taking into account that you cannot have over 3 hearts, that monsters disappear when killed with a sword, etc.
Some people can probably do this in a few minutes, but it’s not something I would tackle in a 48h game jam :p
It’s actually quite hard to automatically find the best path for the character (take an item, heal a bit, another item, heal more, take the exit).
We considered that taking the first available route was a decent alternative, since you can decide yourself which objective are available first with the order of the pieces.
I think you misunderstood what happened.
The final version of the game (the one you can play right now) was uploaded 11min before the original deadline. You can also check for yourself on your game page that you cannot upload new versions of your game, because it is currently being reviewed for the game jam.
The date you see at the bottom of the game page is the modification date of the game description & information (as allowed by the rules), not the game itself.
TBH I never thought about how a hex grid could be handled. I found this very interesting https://www.redblobgames.com/grids/hexagons/ (especially the cube coordinates)
Thanks for hinting me toward this :)
Very funny and cute, and the platforming felt good :)
Just one very minor remark: jumping when the jump key is down (rather than when pressed) is a bit more forgiving when you have the tendency to press jump a fraction of a second before landing (I’m not great at pressing the buttons at the right time ^^)
Thanks for playing and for the comments :)
We had a relative that reported a random game crash near the end, but we could not reproduce the bug. Maybe it happens when the game runs for too long. Anyway, you can restart the game and skip the levels you already solved with the arrows on the top left corner ;)
I added the button on the last day, because I couldn’t stand the music any more. Don’t get me wrong, the music is really awesome (huge shout out to Scott Buckley for composing such lovely musics with free licensing), but after listening it non-stop during the whole game jam (we found it quite early), muting it while keeping the hedgehog sounds was a relief ^^
