Cool concept! I found it fun talking to the coworkers and also found the boss in his office. I had a bug though where I could choose one of the three dialogue options when talking to the boss but then the continue button just didn't work. Other than that though I found it fun, nice job!

3 dollar paycheck letsss goooooo

Great little game, I really like the puzzle designs and the idea fits well with the theme. The one thing I didn't love was the music as it got kind of repetitive after like 15 minutes (mostly when I was just failing on one level because I'm incompetent but still lol).

Amazing art style and great game feel, nice job bro! I actually just sat down and kept playing this game for like 30 minutes because it was that fun lol, rip my productivity

Yeah I have a ton of respect for composers and sound effect people because that shit is insanely hard! I don't know what happened with the composer but the early work he showed me was super solid so I think he has a ton of skill, no bad blood between us at all or anything, sometimes life just gets in the way

Thank you! I did not compose the music since I have no skill at making music whatsoever lol. I was going to work with a composer but they kinda just disappeared halfway through so I ended up just finding music online instead.

Oh that is actually a really smart idea, I think I'll test that out and see if I can get that implemented! Thanks for playing :)

I've never seen an art style like this before but I absolutely love it! Super creative and this game definitely has an insane amount of personality to it. Great job bro!

<3

Thank you so much for playing, I'm really glad you liked it!

No problem about the technical issues, that's super common in game jams and I've definitely experienced it myself before as well. What matters is you use it in the future to improve and you already have a super good base so I think your future projects are going to be super cool! I already mentioned this but I really love the art style since I'm a sucker for retro games lol.

Thanks for playing, I'm definitely considering making it into a full game so that might happen some day soon!

I really enjoyed this game! I love tower defense games especially so it was really cool to see one of those here. The one thing that looked a bit unpolished to me was the ground texture, but other than that it all looked very good. Nice job!

Thanks so much man! Honestly the part I was most worried about was how people would interpret the theme but I'm really glad you thought it matched. I agree with the machine gun feedback, I initially had it take more health when missing but my single playtester had awful aim so he told me to make it less so I did (should have just told him skill issue though lol)

(1 edit)

Oh ok update I managed to get into the game but the screen is a tiny window for some reason, the graphics are still really cool though! Also just did the boss fight and the animations are surprisingly good, especially for a game jam. I think with some polish this game could be something really amazing!

Hey this game looks really cool in the screenshots but unfortunately I think I found a bug because the UI kept like printing over itself right when I press enter? It says I died like 15 times repeatedly and I'm not really sure how to progress lol

Love the art style and the gameplay is unique and creative! I think that the down arrow shield thing was a bit inconsistent maybe as sometimes I pressed it but still died? Other than that though I really enjoyed it, nice job!

Nice job, the game is simple but fun and I enjoyed playing it! The (I think?) procedural generation of the maps is super impressive and I also like how the character can jump up 2 blocks instead of 1 how most games do it.

oooh that is a really cool mechanic, I didn't make it far enough to experience that though so that's why I was a bit confused lol

Liked the aesthetics a lot! The gameplay was cool, though I did die one time and I wasn't really sure what killed me so maybe making it a bit more clear would be good? Great job though, I liked the game a lot!

Thanks bro, I really appreciate the feedback and thanks for playing! I could have made it more clear but there is actually a bonus for hitting headshots, it does extra damage and also heals you more than a regular body shot

Thanks for playing! I tried to focus more on the player's skill at aiming rather than with lowered accuracy on the machine gun because I find that to be kind of annoying in games

This is super cool! I love to see another boomer shooter and my first reaction when I loaded in was "oooh shit this is actually really cool" lol. The graphics are really good, I especially liked the environment assets and the slight green tint on them to show that it is in a sewer. I also liked the rat theme as you can tell from my profile picture lmao. One thing I'd do to improve the game feel a bit is add some camera shake when you shoot the weapon and also maybe give a bit more of a visual indicator for when you get damaged. Maybe a red flash around the screen or something would work. Overall though great job, one of my favorite submissions so far!

Cool game, I like the Helldivers style direction input mechanic a lot! The monologue at the start was also cool and it subtly taught the gameplay without being obviously just a tutorial. Great job overall!

Cool gameplay concept, I liked the vision cones on the enemies because that made it a lot more clear to the player when they were going to get detected or not. Nice job!

I love the art style and the effect of the fire spreading, the gameplay is relatively simple but it is still a lot of fun, nice job!

Really fun little game, the combat is surprisingly satisfying! I didn't fully understand why some of the upgrades were negative though, as it seemed like it kind of made the choice between them just boil down to choosing which one is going to give you a positive effect. Other than that though I think it was all very well done and I liked it a lot!

Just played it for a bit and I think it is a really cool concept! I love the story idea, I think maybe the two different letters at the start was maybe a bit long (maybe just 1 would have been better?) but the story was cool and I liked the voice acting. For the game part, a mouse sensitivity control would have been greatly appreciated because my sensitivity was super high, even on the lowest sensitivity setting on my mouse. Also, the cursor seemed to just be on the screen at all times which was a little strange. I unfortunately couldn't figure out what to do in the opening garden area even after searching for a while so maybe a bit of direction or a pop up message at the start would have helped. I am also kind of awful at puzzles in videogames though so keep that in mind lol. Overall though I really liked the concept, nice job!

Thank you so much for playing! I appreciate the feedback, there are definitely quite a few places on the map that you can just walk out of bounds basically so I probably should have but up a few more kill zones lol. There is an option to load the last save if you press escape in case you get to a point where you are fully stuck. Thanks again for playing and I'll check out your game now :)

Love the concept, simple but really fun and I ended up playing it for probably too long lol

Thanks bro, definitely not as good as ultrakill but I appreciate it lmao

Thank you! I used Unreal Engine 5.4 and I used the plugin "Anim to Sprite" to pixelize the enemies!

Thank you!

Hey thank you for playing and the feedback! I will definitely take all of that into account for my next game, some of those are really good ideas! I also just released another game on itch.io for a game jam if you want to check that out too lol

Nice, this is actually really fun!

Yeah that seems kind of strange, hopefully if they were actually uploaded before the jam started then the owner will remove those submissions

Nice, thank you so much for giving it a try, that's what motivates me to keep making games!

Hey thanks for playing! I made this a while ago and it's pretty bad but if you want to see my more recent work check out my game Cryptis on steam which is basically a much better version of it (it's free!). https://store.steampowered.com/app/2421370/Cryptis/

Thanks for playing! Yeah, there is also a crossbow weapon that you unlock after killing a few enemies in the second arena room with the hole in the floor. If you jump straight into the hole then you can miss it. I probably should have made it easier to find because multiple people couldn't find it lol. Thanks again for playing and the feedback!
