Fantastic work! Especially on the sounds queues! The goat bleat when I get to a spot I need to pick it up is VERY well implemented, because I totally would have left it behind haha. The writing is excellent - All Hail Sel! The implementation of the theme is similar but still so unique and different to ours. I've really come to appreciate the game jam format for being able to see such AWESOME ideas (this is my first one).
Editing comment to add: You should Selebrate putting together such a big project. I was just salty I didn't think of that pun earlier :)
the first time playing the game, the camera got locked so I could only rotate it roughly 180, instead of being able to rotate it completely around the character. I spent a lot of time hearing footsteps without being able to move my view any further than the 9-3 o'clock scope relative to the world when loading in (so very limited). I was able to get it to work on the second time running the game.
Fantastic little puzzles - I didn't play all the levels but I did see that there are quite a few to play! Sometimes the pieces didn't want to snap into place so it took a couple tries. A button right on the level (instead of in the menu) for reset/restart that puzzle would have been nice, but still easy enough to find.
Knowing about the double jump mechanic you mentioned in the comments helped get me through the first level. The running animation, cute art and the sfx change between first and second jump was so cute, I just ran around jumping so I could hear it haha. Loved the music, would have been great to have it loop! A bit tricky level design to play single player for me, but great work!
Wasn't really sure where my character was when started playing the level! I liked the shooting fireball sounds, but wasn't sure what I was supposed to be shooting or hitting with my sword. I didn't seem to be able to damage (or health bars ran out quickly and I did too much damage? The mechanic/objective was a bit unclear). Similar to not knowing where my character was, had a hard time telling which way I was facing when I was moving around. I liked the idea of different team compositions for levels.
Loved the graphics and menu details, including sound adjustments! The music was very good. It took me a few times to reach the end, but wanted to jump right back in and try again. The little flag checkpoints and lives were an excellent touch and intuitive. The GIANT wolf chasing really got the adrenaline running when you respawn at a checkpoint and see it's so close! really fun, will come back to play other difficulties.
Capybara protagonist was cute! I did find the exploration to collect sticks and the temple door puzzle a little long. I was almost ready to give up before accidentally finding where the teleport happens to get the stick visible from the walkway. The dialogue text boxes contained a lot of scrolling text I found myself needing to hit space to stop it from making me a little dizzy. I didn't replay to see the other possible endings from my choices, but nice use of the wildcard.
