7th PLACEEEEEE!!!!!!  HOLY MOLY I finally beat your game!!!!! I loved every part of it!!!! lol  great job man!

I want to say congrats and i totally knew this was the top game!!!!!!!!! Great great job my man

Oh my!!!! I just watched the video you posted that inspired your game and I can't stop laughing.  9 times out of 10 the beetle craws out the frogs butt alive.  hahah how the heck did you spot this video and come up with idea?

It took me a minute to figure out the connection with the theme... I just hit play without reading and thought, okay a rhythm game, this is awesome... then I realized I was escaping out of  a FROG LMAO!!! That makes this even better. lol

Oh my!  What in the heck was going on here?  Is there a different ending other than the helicopter?  I tried a few times and that was the same ending each time.  100% the feel of the game as far as platformers go was very well done.  You could take those same mechanics and make a much longer game. (given time of course) Nice job!!!!

I don't remember the exact words but it was basically saying Windows telling me I should not download it.  I usually get something like that on Jam games but this time I got it twice.

lol awesome take on the Theme!  I love all the unique ways people came up with the ESCAPE theme.  If you were able to make this a multiplayer game that would have been so funny to watch a bunch of streamers pick their "key" and battle it out.

The gameplay was fantastic. With more time there could have been more enemies and powerups. I would have loved to see a leaderboard and some sound.  Great job getting your game complete and uploaded in time!!!

I was able to knock down the three lights on the ceiling but it still made the last hand on the right wall active.  Is there a 4th light I need to knock down?

Wow, man, this game is a hidden gem.  It gave me a strange warning when I went to download it but knowing other people downloaded it and it work, I decided to give it a try and I'm REALLY HAPPY I did. Excellent game.  Smooth controls!  I would love to see this one on a stream. Great job!!!!!

What is considered a good time? I was able to get 12.13 Seconds but that does not seem too good.  It took me a few play throughs to figure out the mechanics but once I noticed the left and right force(indicated by the purple particles) I was able to figure out the controls.  If it was not for the darn red guy I could do much better lol.  Nice game and great job getting your game finished and uploaded on time.

Thank you!!!  :)  I'm very glad you liked it!!

Thank you so much for your kind words and for playing our game.  I'm glad you liked the art. It was all hand drawn by my daughter.  She has a special talent for sure.  Thanks again!!! :)

Thanks for taking the time to play our game and leave some feedback.  I am really glad you enjoyed the art work and the sounds.  This was my first attempt at doing sound effects and it was fun process.  I know I looked ridiculous walking around the house making as many obnoxious sounds as I could.

is that you in your avatar pic?  did you draw that?  Very cool!!!!!

Thank you thank you!!!!!!  There are so many really good games out there for this jam so I feel honored you took the time to play ours.  The artwork was the main motivation for getting into this jam. I wanted to challenge my daughter (who is about to head off to college) to see if she could draw a ton of cards in a short amount of time.  We both got very very little sleep lol.  thanks again for playing.

Thank you!!!!!  I really appreciate your kind words.  I actually made the resolution on the game so that it would fit a phone screen and I made all the controls to be mouse only so that I could play it on my phone.  The only thing you can't do on your phone is put in your name for the leaderboard.  :)  I'm really glad you enjoyed the game and took the time to play and leave feedback!

Thanks for giving our game a shot! The scoring works by giving the player one point every time they make a decision that gives them an extra attribute point.  For instance you have the three attributes at the top (money, health, sanity) if you make a decision that makes any of these go up then you get a point.  Also if you find the treasure chest in the waterfall then you get extra points. :)

Gameplay
The indicator was a tricky part for us.  We wanted to show which attribute (stats) was affected by your choice but was not sure the best way to go about that.  I think in another iteration of the game we could make the attribute(money, heart, or sanity) shake when it is about to be affected.  The player gets one point every time they make a decision that gives them a positive effect in one of the three attributes. I had an idea in my head on how scoring was going to work but I just did not implement it as good as I wanted to.

Aesthetics:
The Aesthetics is what my daughter and I were going for when we decided to join this JAM.  She was recently accepted into the Summer Residency Program at CalArts and I wanted to challenge her in making a ton of art in a short amount of time.  And it had to be good enough to really capture peoples' attention.  -- I'm not the best programmer (tho I love it as my one of my favorite hobbies) so I wanted to make the code simple enough to be both fun and aesthetically pleasing.  In the end, I feel very honored that you enjoyed the art.

Sound
This is the first time I did my own sound effects.  I used so many things around the house to make all the sound effects in the game.  I used Audacity to edit the sounds I made and it was actually really hard but I really enjoyed the process.

Thanks again for your thorough feedback and for taking the time to play our game!!!  :)

YESSSSS PLEASE!!!!

lol oh man!!!!!! I have been playing your game extra too find it. I think others have too which is awesome and hilarious! If I find it I’ll let you know

I got 7 points but I needed to look up super long words to get there!  lol  This was a very very interesting take on the theme.  Very creative.

Did you guys make this song?  lol the music was perfect!  I'm not sure how people on the leaderboard were scoring in the hundreds.  I played multiple times and the best I could get was 50+ points???

That would be a brilliant addition to the game!  It could be really funny too, the kind of conversation rabbit holes we go down when we are just trying to leave.

I got out of there at 11:01.  I like how the IT guy had messy hair-- very typical.  lol  Also, if I worked on the top floor I would need an elevator!  What kind of job is this? :) Great job getting your game submitted with still 6 hours remaining.

I'm now FIRST ON THE LEADERBOARD!  :)  Did you guys make your own sounds?  That was very very very dope sounds and art.  The intro was very unique and entertaining.  Of course it's a super hard game to control but hey, who has an easy time controlling a drunk person!  nice job guys!

That Story book mode is unreal!!!!  Fantastic job there.  Does your game have an ending?  -- I played a few times and never made it to the top 10 on the leaderboard so if there is an ending, I'm nowhere near it.... yet! :)

It looked great for sure.  That is the thing about making something look good, you give everyone ideas on how to make it look even coooler lol  Great job!!!

The controls felt smooth... my since of urgency to find a weapon was far greater than getting my hands on that cash lol  I did manage to get 7th place!!!!!

that is very kind of you to say!!!!!! Thanks again for playing it. I told my daughter (she did all the art) about your game and how the plot matched ours exactly. She thought that was funny!

lol man, I uploaded my game with 3 minutes left and I was shaking.... too much time spent to get get it uploaded so fantastic job!

I love the minigame concept.  The level I could not beat was the mouse/cheese one.  What the heck lol

7th PLACEEEEE!!!!  Oh man it took me a while to be able to get your game to work but I'm glad we figured it out. I had fun playing it and was eventually able to get on the top 10!!!  Nice job!

9th PLACE!!!!!!!  lol  Nice job on the game concept.  there is a lot you can do to this game to add on to it... animations like smoke coming from the fireplace of the houses

Wow, you have a really good game here.  Some have mentioned an ending??? Am I that bad that I can't get to the end.  I get far enough where the monster (very scary and awesome) monster chases me and then I die.... Is it endless or indeed have an ending.  Great time... and submitting with only 7 minutes left.... wow!!!!

Great news I was able to get it to work on a different monitor.  I played for about 15 minutes before I was finally able to get to the second yellow platform where I thought I had one but turns out that there was a giant hole.  I saw there was a sign there but everything happened so fast so I did not know what the sign said.  After looking at your screen shots I believe the sign is telling me to bounce back and forth on the wallssss. soo hard lol but I enjoyed being able to finally play your game.  Great job getting it complete and submitted!!!

Did you figure out who this is?  I need to see this video

Hey so my screen resolution is 2560X1080.  I still don't see the Continue bar.   The good thing is, now that I can't play the game, I REALLLLLY WANT TOOOOOOOOO!!!!! lol  I'm going to keep trying.  I'll try a different computer in the house and see if that makes a difference.

I am very curious as to what coding language you used to make this?  This is the first one that required me to install .NET.  This game would be an excellent enemy encounter for an old style RPG game.  Great job completing the game and getting it submitted with 11 hours left.

halfway through the jam I feared it would be a game that a lot of people would not get.  In my head it was simple but I knew after watching some family play that it was not as simple as I had thought.  lol thanks for giving it a shot.
