I love the slower start this took to get fully into the piece, gives you more time to enjoy the instruments and buildup rather than just rushing to the point. If this were used in a trailer for a game/movie/etc. this would be an amazing way to reveal it.

My only wish is that there was more to the song, it ends so abruptly right when it sounds like it's getting to the best part :(

One of my favorites in the jam, the fantasy vibe is hit perfectly and stays interesting throughout that I could listen to this all day! The vocaloid is just unnatural sounding enough that it elevates the otherworldliness another step, solid work :D

I love that the melody has this bittersweet tone to it that says, "it's over, but that doesn't mean it was for nothing" which is very pleasant to listen to. The acoustic guitar also gives me the idea of resting by a campfire now that it's sunset.

Personal preference but I think removing the very last note would give it a much more fitting "journey's not quite finished" ending. Going to the tonic feels to final for me, I'm not going to dock points or anything for it, still a masterpiece either way :)

I love this one. The piano, clarinet, and rain ambience come together perfectly for the tone you were going for of uncertainty to the future. The tinge of dissonance helps sell the idea as well.

Try to play around with rhythm a little more, I think throwing in some triplets or 16ths to spice things up a little could put more emotion into the piece if done well :)

I love the composition! Your use of dynamics and tempo changes make this piece come alive and reminds me of the score in a Ghibli film.

I do wish you used the clarinet and erhu a little more, it felt like a piano piece with some other instrument cameos especially towards the end when it became a solo piano. It was a missed opportunity to elevate the piece even higher than it is already.

Your choice and use of the instrunents chosen are insanely good, I don't think they could get any better! Nothing felt unnecessary or overshadowed despite having so many different parts, and switching up which ones play which part in different sections was a nice touch.

One thing I'd work on is the transitions in the beginning, they feel much more "computer composed" with a distinct start and end. They stick out even more to me when they flow much smoother in the later half imo.

Amazing work overall, I love it :)

I love the ukulele melody! The live playing gives it so much life and carries the tone for the song. Your choice of percussion is top-notch as well.

Towards the outro, the violin you used feels a little smeary between notes, it might be good to use a different VST/library once it becomes the lead or fine-tune the effects a little to prevent the overlap.

Doing things the hard way is always the fast track to learning faster, and boy did I learn a lot making this!

Thanks for the feedback 🙏

Now that you've said it I can hear how empty the harmony is, definitely something I'll focus on for next time!

Thank you for the feedback 🙏

pitch bending is so addictive and makes every melody 10x better instantly

Very glad someone used the erhu, it's a hard instrument to incorporate due to its unique sound and you used it well in this song. Very solid atmospheric piece I could easily see used in a game or movie for a somber moment :)

I love the use of instruments here, everything melds so well with each other and really sets the mood you're going for! I did think using the same melody in the second verse made the piece a little stale, some more variation there would do well.

Mixing could use some fine-tuning (drums felt a little quiet, bass was a little loud) but I love the back and forth between the peaceful flute/harp and the intricate bass, feels hip-hop structured in a way and was a really cool direction to take the piece!

Every instrument sounds like they're used to the fullest, the contrast between the solo harpsichord and the orchestral sections are beautiful! My only complaint is that the harpsichord itself sounds a little robotic, humanizing it a little would go a long way to making it fit better with the rest of the song.

The storytelling in this is perfect, I love the transition into sunset! Sounds very inspired by Stardew Valley's Summer theme and my favorite so far in the jam :D

Vocal only is a rarity nowadays, and you did this one really well! Your chord progressions are wonderful, and if you come back and fine-tune the dynamics this would be even more of a masterpiece than it already is. It would also be cool to see if using other choirs would add more variation to this as you said you only used the one library.

Having the buildup to the first chorus was a beautiful decision, you kept it varied enough to not make it boring leading up to it and the payoff is that much more impactful. I'm also a sucker for 303s so this is instantly a banger, keep up the good work :D

The mixing is a little bright though imo, adding more low frequencies would help this out a lot.

I love the use of slides in the synth, overall a very tranquil piece! The bandpass in the intro and outro was a top-notch decision, please keep up the good work :D

The intro sounds like it should have more of a lead-in, but everything else is absolutely amazing!! The violin adds a ton, and the drums are perfectly written. :D

You really nailed the dynamics and tempo on this one, every transition felt buttery smooth and the change into The Sun was being built up perfectly in Hanged Man. My only critique (which is honestly my impatience, didn't dock anything for it) is that Hanged Man runs a tiny bit long. Not anything egregious, but it felt like the 'slow' section was the main part of the song.

This sounds like something you would hear in an RPG or Stardew Valley, very peaceful and calming to listen to! I like that every instrument has a defined part to play in the song, it gives it that minimalist feel without being boring :)

I always try to experiment with new ideas in songs (although I don't compose very often), I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

Someone else said the bagpipes didn't sound too bagpipey, I'll try to go for something that makes a better distinct use of the instrument next time.

Thanks for the feedback 🙏

There's nothing wrong with using 4/4 time! A lot of cool songs can still be made with common time signatures, I just have a preference for the added wonkiness other ones have :)

Thanks for the feedback 🙏

The bagpipe I used didn't have much of a low-end making it hard to fill in the bass, I guess it shows lol.

Once I learn more about effectively mastering and EQing I can probably make it sound better, but it was a tough balancing act by itself to get the punchy kick without washing out everything else so I'm happy with it for now :)

Thanks for the feedback much appreciated 🙏

The bagpipe is a little loud compared to the rest of the instruments, but compositionally this is really good!! I like that the beginning is playful and carefree until the tinge of dissonance right as you start incorporating more of the drums, it gives it that twist to keep things interesting.

This is really catchy! The lead reminds me of Sega Genesis instruments, it's got that metally sound and really stands out as the main part of the song, and the chords go really well with it too. You might be able to use duplicates of your synth presets with some effects to add a little more variety into the second chorus (and maybe save some coins for more instruments !!).

Such a chill piece! It could just be the animation talking, but it sounds perfect for exploring on a bike especially with the triangle acting as a bike bell. I also like the drum choice, it's got that softness that adds a lot to the mood.

I like the structure of this a lot, the evolution of the piece makes it feel more and more complete until the end high note! This could use a countermelody or something to fill the piece in a little more as a single instrument (and drone) can only do so much. The bagpipe you used works really well as a lead and the triangle ding between variations was cool :)

The intro is a beautiful tone-setter for the rest of the piece, has a very melancholy feel like you're about to start or seeing the repercussions of a world-changing event. I do think the choir has a missed opportunity to be used a little more prominently, especially as the outro felt anticlimactic without it personally. Great job overall :)

It's got a massive 80's rock feel to it I absolutely love, hits the perfect spot of campiness and well thought out composition that matches what you were going for! i am also a sucker for organ solos

I can agree with that. I tried keeping the lead and chords as faithful to the original bagpipe sound, but I guess when they're played in such an un-bagpipey way it loses the feel regardless.

Thanks for the feedback 🙏

It is a bagpipe !! I don't remember if it was just one or two layered together, but everything is made out of the same bagpipe preset in FLEX.
