Thanks for playing that really made my day! I agree, your king becomes a powerhouse that becomes the only piece to care about. I think if I were to flush out the game, I'd limit scaling overall, so that it's more of a strategy game than a number game.

Thank you everyone for taking time to play this game! Means a lot to me and I loved the feedback. I had a blast playing other peoples games!

Haha funny you mention that I'm testing a version where the player can move multiple pieces right now! Thanks for the in-depth input! (Checking out your game rn)

No I wrote it in the description below that there's a specific action that will sometimes crash it. Thanks for playing though!

Yeah the wizard is one of my favorite pieces. That's a great idea with the hotkeys though would help with the mass amount of clicking required.

Best of this game jam in my opinion. Phenomenal work!

We had vaguely similar mechanics. I really like idea of auras boosting each character. Much like what people are saying with my game, it took me awhile to understand the enemies. Maybe the ability to click them and understand their potential moves/attacks would be helpful. Nonetheless super interesting game and I had fun playing it through.

Great play on the theme. Did spot a bug that I think occurs when the camera changes to the clone that's already on a door once you get the key. Caused a gray screen. But nonetheless super fun nice work!

You have a great idea so I really hope you push this further. Definitely top 5 for me

Perfect fit about the theme. Playing with two people would be pretty fun. Some caveats I didn't like was not too sure about what I was picking up (assuming it was to do with ammo but couldn't see my ammo). Graphics/Theme/and Innovation are perfect marks from me though. Great game!

.exe downloads don't get enough love/rates. Big game for a small amount of time but I loved the graphics. Everything was clear, hit markers were fun, and I felt my skill did help me progress. I think the core is there and FPS games are a real challenge for game jams. I'd say the only weak point that I though was a design choice rather than a time constraint is the machine gun just felt better than the pistol in every way. But overall it was fun to play, and satisfy to shoot!

Thought the controls were okay but the difficulty coulda been harder (maybe because I cheesed and stood under a spanner for a bit. (I completely get the struggles of difficulty I was struggling with that as well. But overall the concept was pretty cool and it's very satisfying to play for a bit.

For infinite runners I like how you used the theme as a mechanic to make it different. Using mouse it became pretty fun when it got super fast.

Besides like what other people were saying about the one sound effect, I enjoyed the premise it would be cool to see it fleshed out more after the Jam is over!

Honestly one of my favorite games of the jam. I totally get the time constraint. (I sacrificed displaying information) But at its core I love the mechanics and I hope you continue with it and add a little more. Each level brought something new too so the pacing for each level was good.

Haha looks like you have a chess obsession and an Undertale obsession. I do too but more so with chess as you can tell from my game. I enjoyed the humor which with these kinds of games matters most in terms of keeping it fun and keeping me playing. Nice work!

Kind of regretting my decision not to add any background music (since I like to listen to my own music) but I should of made some for the game and then just add a mute button to appease both audiences. Thanks for the feedback!

I enjoy the premise and the graphics were beautiful. It'd be cool to see a little more methodical game play rather than shooting spam and the kamikazes were pushing me off screen sometimes but it's super fun to see the wave of bullets and would be love to play any updates.

I'll try to play and rate as many as I can!

I agree with the balancing after seeing more play tests I probably would have removed the health scaling from enemies and the sword item in order to make each piece have its strengths. The wizard piece is definitely a highlight since he gains attack when you're not using him. I tried to do the same with the knight having him kind of act like a tank. Awesome in depth feedback though really appreciate it!

Yeah I was debating on adding music but figured people may just want to listen to their own music while playing. Thanks for the feedback on that though I was curious!

King's Gambit https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-5/rate/927003

I sympathize with trying to polish difficulty curves I struggled with it in my game too. Really fun game to play though I love games like this.

I would of liked to see a little more variety when playing  to keep it interesting the more you play but the core mechanics were fun and made a very fitting game for the theme. Nice work!

I love the idea so far I think it's one of the most theme-fitting games this jam

Great to hear it! And I'm glad there's a challenge

Darn I should of put more things in the guide. Thanks for the feedback though!

Thanks for the feedback and thanks for playing!

I don't know I like the concept of this. Make sure on your sprites you remove filtering, (Point) this will remove the blur

Sweet! Thanks for the reply. My new highscore is 155 ;)

Well I had no idea it was a thing and it ramped up to a point it really was just a timer until instant lose.

Thanks for the feedback! It's nice to know my core ideas landed. Thanks for playing!

Neat idea but because of the perspective it was tricky to figure out where I was exactly. Also I ran into a bug where gravity didn't reset and I fell through to instantly beat the game.

Really unique gameplay! Really fun to play and great style. (It's fun to bounce off the top and bottom)

Looks good with great audio. The gameplay mechanic was neat but I didn't feel in control of the combat.

Great idea and I'd love to see a bigger and more aesthetic game be made from this.

Just want to thank everyone in advance who took the time to play my game. It means so much to me!

Thank you a ton for playing!
