In what way does your game fit the theme?
As the game progresses, the player gets more and more powerups which apply to the player and the enemies, leading to loads of projectiles and other things being on screen.

Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
I made all the assets and code myself and from scratch, except for the script for playing my game's sounds, which is a modified script from my previous games.

Genuinely enjoyed this a ton! The power-ups provide a great way to ramp up the difficulty slowly. I found myself shifting my strategy as I added new power-ups. Also that "oh crap" moment when I realized that some of my power-ups affect enemy weapons as well :)

Well done! A great entry to this game jam!

Loved it. Really fun, a great idea, loved the choice selected at the end and I loved how the enemies got the bonuses as well making the player not feel overpowered. Well done and keep it up.

Cool game! A bit bland since there's only one enemy type in the game, and I did get stuck after a while, but still, a pretty fun game! The upgrades are actually pretty unique!

A funny game. I like the fact that you have to pay attention to bounces. After, a bit long at the end, with always the same enemy, and only one map, a little audio problem, where the shots sounds decreased on time, and the powerups also applies to the ennemies (like, if I choose the largest shot, theirs will be largest too, or split too if I choose this bonus, I don't know if it's intended like that ^^). But a really fun game nonetheless :)

A pretty fun little arena shooter. There were a lot in this jam (including mine haha), but I can definitely say that the upgrade system in this one is one of the most elegant ways of adding a bit a chaos to the situation. The split shot in particular was probably my favorite: a really powerful buff that comes with a major downside. Good stuff.

Didn't really run into any bugs in this one. Although, if you end up working on a post-jam version, I'd have two suggestions: For one, I'd really like to see some more enemy types. Some upgrades, while they help both you and your enemies, can be pretty easily turned into pure buffs by just circle strafing, which I  think could be really mitigated with a few different foes forcing you to play a bit differently. I also think the health bar is a little too generous: I never went below 75% until I actively tried to, and that was with the screen already covered in bullets.

Putting this aside, though, the game is still fun enough on it's own that I played through it a couple more times than most. A good idea with good execution. Not really much else to ask for from a jam game.

My entry's below if you want to give it a try. Hope to see you in another jam!

Great artwork, great mechanics! About half my game I kept choosing the "easy" powerups that didn't really affect my opponents, got bored, and chose two really intense powerups. That really ratcheted up the difficulty quickly!

Great game!

Developer

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it eventually!

I must say, I really liked this title. The artwork was pleasing and the mechanics were fun. I do think the enemy AI could be improved, but I know that's a large endeavor. Great job, nonetheless.

Developer

Thanks!  I definitely have a few ideas for improving the enemy AI if I ever come back to this game so I'll definitely keep that in mind.

Cool game after a bit, should be faster at the start.

Would be awesome if u can play & rate my game aswell! thanks, tiimo :)

Developer

Thanks! I completely agree with it being a bit slow, and I'll make sure to check out your game when I get the chance!

I like the gameplay and also the random upgrades:)

Glad you enjoyed it!

An overall solid game and cool concept, but like others have said, it should be faster. It doesn't feel very chaotic for the first few levels.

Developer

I agree.  My fear with this game was that it wasn't too chaotic until the game ramped up, but I'm glad you still liked it either way!

Very fun game, I've beaten 15 waves and I don't think I could improve that. The whole screen was bullets by then :))
Really good graphics and I liked the random upgrades.

Developer

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!

very cool but it felt a bit slow to shoot at first maybe enemies had too much health

Developer

Yea that seems to be a common issue.  Happy you still liked it though!

It's crazy risky to try and re-collect your own bullets, makes a great mechanic! Good job!

Developer

Thanks!

We liked the feedback when you hit an enemy and the graphics were good too. We think the player had a bit to much health though.

Developer

I appreciate the compliment! Thanks for the feedback on the player health as well!  I probably should've made it lower and given the player ways to get more rather than having too much in the beginning.

I enjoyed the game. The only problem I had was, that the cursor was not visible enough, it got kinda lost on the screen :)

Developer

I'm glad you enjoyed it!  I'll definitely have to add better cursors in future games.

GFXs are good!

Audio is Best!

Player controls are not that good

Developer(+1)

Glad you liked some of the game at least!  Sorry the player controls weren't the best though, I'll make sure to try and improve them if I ever pick this game up again!

Really clean graphics in this. I can tell there was a lot of effort put into this. I can see it turning into a decent bullet hell.

I have 2 main gripes with the experience.

1. I think the tutorial screen was too dense. With the small screen filled with different sized fonts and images, there was a lot going on and I had a hard time digesting the information.

2. I really think the player should have much faster movement. It got to the point where I spent the whole wave just circling the enemies because I had no other way to avoid their bullets. It's fine if they're slow because there's so many of them, but with how much health they have and how slow I am it can turn into a slog after a few waves.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!  Sorry the tutorial screen was so dense, I just kind of threw it together in the last hour and didn't think too much about it.

Very fun game. The level up system is great and I really like the pixel art (fire rate is kinda OP tho). Only complaints would be that it gets really easy the further you go and I got trapped in the wall a couple times. Other than that fantastic job  :)

Developer

Thanks for the compliment! I agree that the game definitely gets pretty easy at a certain point and the wall thing is definitely a problem but I'm glad you still enjoyed it!
