Great game! It is an interesting take on the endless runner, the bombs were a nice touch.
Definitely fun and chaotic game. It was a bit difficult to try and sometimes impossible to jump to next platform, but I can't really complaint since it was made in a week. Good job and I really liked the visuals.
This is the Dark Souls of endless runners.
But seriously, this game is awesome and a lot of fun! Excellent work!
This was amazing, I played it over and over for a solid 20 minutes. Obviously if it was fully completed post-jam you would do checks for impossible bs, but I think it worked great for this jam and it's theme.
One of my personal favorites so far.
Great job!
If you have another person and a controller available to plugin please check out my game!
Yo, this game is fun! It has that addictive, "I wanna make it farther" quality that flappy bird had, but with a lot more actually going on to make it interesting. Genuinely very enjoyable.
(high score was 176)
WOW that's a high high score!
It became difficult pretty quickly, but the music kept me vibing for a while! I think this concept could work well in a larger screen resolution, so the player could anticipate the changing terrain a bit.
I think the difficulty ramped up too quickly as well. Level's quickly became unwinnable. But, I loved that you took a restriction like the gb palette etc and made a super smooth, good looking game. The fun is there, it just needs a tweak or two. Great idea.
Cool game! Enjoyed it :)
I think this is an excellent game but held back a bit by the difficulty. Very impressive that you managed to make this in one week, especially the procedural generation system, it certainly fits the theme of chaos well, especially when combined with the destructible environment. The fact that you managed to reduce the control down to just a single button gives the game an almost tactical element. But I think the fast movement of the character combined with the bombs dropping and other hazards to avoid feels a bit overwhelmingly difficult, at least for me. So most of my runs only lasted for about 10 seconds at a time and sometimes I got lucky with the level layout/bombs and made it a bit further. If the player had more time to plan their next move and a larger window to react in I think the game could be a bit more fun to play (just by the virtue of getting further even). It feels like sometimes there is just no way to avoid death and that's a bit frustrating.
Otherwise the old school Gameboy look and sound really turned out great! I especially like the pixel art of the background and the characters animation. So yeah, nice game, fits the chaos theme very well!
Amazing! I really like the idea. It really fits the theme! Controls are so smooth! Well done!
Certainly fits the theme, though maybe I'm a scrub but I don't think 'chaos' means it has to be impossible to last more than a few seconds! With some tweaks to the impressive random generation this could be a really fun game. Visuals and audio were excellent, top marks there
I'm thoroughly impressed by this game, its simple but fun, and feels like it could be a classic Gameboy game.
This was really fun to play. Easy mechanic and nice small tutorial to start. Chaos was there very fast! Great!
I wanted to play this game way more than I did. It was such a cool look and the music was amazing, but there were some sections that were unwinnable. I would jump and then the platform under me would get blown away. Or I would land on a platform that had been lowered by a bomb and couldn't make the jump only to have the platform I was on get blown up.
When it wasn't doing that, it was so much fun though. Great job.
I like the random generation aspect but it would be cool if there was an option to play pre-built levels over and over until you've mastered them. As it is I get thrown into a different level every time and usually die immediately. If you do that and have the difficultly go up slowly(starting with almost no bombs and eventually getting to cheat code range impossible) i would definitely play this more
Thanks for the honesty! I first wanted to make prebuilt levels, but I figured random generation would be easier to make and have more replayability. I'll definitely add a 'story mode' when I can.
Cool game, although it has a lot of situations where u cant get out and get stuck ( or die). Also, grass should fall down if the ground gets destroyed. I like the idea of the clouds!
Would be awesome if you could play & rate my game aswell! Thank you, tiimo :3
I like the aesthetic of the game and it is so much fun to play with one click, try to build it as a mobile game (Android/Ios)
Get rid of the fish, put it on iOS, and sell this baby like hotcakes. A very good concept pulled off extremely well. I think it should be a TAD easier, maybe ramp up to the difficulty it's at now, but it's fun, easy to pick up, and addicting for a tryhard like me.
Music slaps, visuals are on point (though I wish the character was just a bit farther to the left to give me more time to see incoming obstacles), and the tutorial is lovely and diagetic. Full marks.
Love the gameboy artstyle and the music is straight banging.
Creative game design and really nice graphics. Audio's really on point too. Love the retro GB style
