The X is the quit game button, the triangle the play button 😁

I tried to go for that vibe :) Thanks

Thanks a lot!

Thank you! Do you mean the godot logo? It is the game engine I used to make the game!

Hey! I used the black blocks below the oranges to indicate the direction. Maybe I should make this somehow clearer in the game.. :)

Hey! Do you mean some sort of "ghost" which shows you where the cubes rolled the last play? Or some sort of direction indication? Thank you for playing!

Thank you for the good feedback and suggestions! I'm glad you liked it!

Hey, the performance can be attributed to the browser. I really optimized the game, but scene loading apparently takes really long in the browser. Thanks for playing! :)

Thank you for playing!

Hey! Stumbled on your little comedic game through the forum and it's really funny. I like the drawing style, shadows and storytelling. You could improve the gameplay a bit, maybe find another mechanic that keeps the player interested. Just clicking cars gets boring after a while, there is no learning curve involved. Other than that super cute game, good job!

Super cool RPG. Here are some things i noted:

  • The music really fits the game.
  • The images have a fitting vibe, but they feel a bit dead. Introduce some movement, maybe particles or a plant that moves in the wind.
  • The UI doesn't resize when you exit fullscreen.
  • Very good writing.

Overall very enjoyable experience!

Hey, I like the game idea! For me it gets a bit too hard too fast, maybe slow down the pace a bit. For the task choice you used things where there is not much room for improvement. From a game development perspective you always want to have a learning curve on your game, as what makes a game fun is when you get better at it. Choose tasks where you are only able to solve them slowly, but get faster over time. Then add some stress-inducing music (maybe fast paced jazz) and you would have a full game! The graphics are great! Good job!

Fun game and really well executed for a scratch project. A tip I can give you is start learning godot or other engines. You would have much more possibilites, like screen shaking, post processing etc, which could step up the feeling of your game a bit!

I really like the comedic way this game is presented. A little bit of interaction clarity is missing. Maybe write what words were already selected, and give textual instruction e.g. to drink water when needed, not only use audio for that, as it is sometimes overlapping. Really funny game overall and creative use of the theme!

Thanks for the feedback!

Thank you!

Hello and thanks for the feedback! I was aware of this problem during the jam but didn't find a good solution for it in time. I didn't want to implement rotation because it messed with the looks and lighting. Glad you liked it :)

Thanks for the review! Glad you liked it :)

Thanks!

Haha thanks! Maybe I made some Levels too difficult...

Thank you very mich!

Wow, your game really reminds me of my game (which is also an isometric puzzle game)! Super cool idea where there is so much room to expand on! Two small suggestions: Lengthen the music, introduce more diversity into the soundtrack. Check out my game how I did that: I used the environment itself to interact with the music and create a "variable" soundtrack. Also what could be optimized is when you click somewhere and interrupt it (click somewhere else), you have to wait for it to move to the old location. Maybe find a workaround for this (e.g. cancel it). Otherwise super high quality submission, grid transitions etc. I like it!

Hey, thanks! Be aware the puzzles get really really hard, as I tried to fit all difficulties inside during the jam, so the curve may seem exponential :)

Hey! Cool game! Maybe implement a few more strategic things, as it currently is a bit too luck focused. Also a small description when hovering items / cards would be cool! You can definitely expand on this game idea! Good job

Hey! As mentioned I can only play in browser, as I am using only Linux. Would love to play your game, though.

Good visuals and good audio, the gameplay lacks a bit of a "twist", i.e. it gets a bit boring after some time. Find something that makes the game a bit more strategic, where you have to think a bit, or plan ahead. Over the years I have learned that "fun" comes from a learning curve, where you slowly get better at something. You really have potential and could make something cool out of it!

Hey. I am a 22 year old MSc student of computer science (specializing in computer graphics / vision) and will rate your game and give you valuable feedback. Just comment your game below and I will look at it when I have time. I have one requirement: It has to be "Play In Browser"! First come first serve!

Please also check out my game! https://loerting.itch.io/rotocube

Thank you! No, I'm using modern day computation capatibilities for this, trying to recreate an older look. ;)

Thanks!

Hey! As mentioned in other comments it is hard to balance the difficulty as a solo developer, as you get used to the mechanics while developing, which introduces bias 😁. I'll try to get more playtesting in next time. Thank you for the valuable feedback!

Hey, thank you for the long and detailled feedback. What I can take from a few comments here is that I should add a few more easy levels into the game to train / prepare the player. Of course, while you are developing the game you are getting used to the mechanics and levels automatically become easier for yourself. This makes it harder to estimate the difficulty for new players. I will try to get more playtesting for my next game to finetune this better. Thank you for playing!

Added a fun twist to a classical game, good theme implementation! Add some music, sfx and you'd have a full casual game. I liked it!

Creative idea! I would bet money on that nobody made a game with the same theme before! Fun gameplay, maybe add some powerup or other diversity into the game. I liked it !

Very cool art game, I really like the style you went for, the fast paced jazzy music is very fitting. It gives a sense of urgency while also creating a feeling of not taking the dilemma too seriously.

Here are some points on improvement I noted:

  • The music is a bit too loud on standard setting, the starting dialog is hard to hear.
  • Leave out the main menu options for music, etc. You are the game developer and you decide what to use, be confident here and develop your own game style :)
  • Sometimes it feels maybe a bit too frustrating. Design the game in a way where you can make smaller mistakes and still be able to win. You want the player to feel good after all, right?
  • Design the interface (dialog / buttons) in a similar art style as the game. This makes it look much more professional.

What I especially liked about your game:

  • Story writing and art / game style.
  • The humor that was used in the game.
  • The main menu.

Overall a very well made project, lots of effort and thinking put into it. I really liked it and had much fun playing :)

I can see you put a lot of effort in it, but I can't seem to figure out the controls correctly. I can move the thing around and up and down, but grabbing a container doesn't work. Maybe it has to do with the browser version, the pause menu buttons also don't work sometimes... The style is good, I like the cell shading. Maybe focus a bit on using certail color palettes in post processing to give it a more characteristic look. Would love to play it fully but can't seem to make it work :(

Neat short puzzle game! Maybe work a bit on UI clarity and post processing. The art is lovely! Nice job!

Thank you for your long and detailled review of my game. I'm happy that you liked it! :)

Thank you really much for all the compliments! I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)

Wow, thanks. That means a lot to me!

Thanks!
