I love chess and this take on it, but it’s very hard to play when your pieces sometimes refuse to capture.

I would give this game every praise I’d give regular chess except that this is not as balanced. Interestingly, since the kings start on the same file (chessspeak for column), attempting a queen bomb early on doesn’t work as well as you would think since you just blow up every single piece of royalty on the board, drawing the game.

I’d love the bug fixed (Firefox) then I’ll see if I can troll anyone with this game.

Funny idea. It would be interesting to play with someone. You forgot one rule about checkmate, it is not here.

Added a fun twist to a classical game, good theme implementation! Add some music, sfx and you'd have a full casual game. I liked it!

A very good take on the game of chess. I love the graphics. And the drag and drop of the pieces feel great almost like lichess or chess.com.

Very fun game! I pranked my friend by telling him it was a normal chess game, then I exploded all of his pieces with my suicide queen. He was speechless. So, thank you for that moment — it fits the theme perfectly, 5/5! Also, we noticed that we can't check the king with the rook.

Hilarious twist to a classic game, sound and playing vs cpu would be welcome for sure, but it's a really nice proof of concept for a bigger game 

Well done submitting this game to the jam! I really enjoyed the concept. Chess with a twist - I like it! Maye consider adding some sounds and sprites that make the figures more distinguishable.

This is a great concept. Obviously would be better if vs CPU (even if cpu is not factoring in the consequences of the moves.. explosions.. Would be crazy to play against stockfish and see what happens... like does the computer kill itself?) Nice idea! 

Unique concept, was not expecting blocks to blow up and pieces sticking to each other(literally made me think game glitched but then I realized oh right nothing can go wrong).

this game was great, I like how you put a twist on a classic and still made it fit the theme, this was great though I have learned that if you play too long it starts lagging

I love chess in general so I had fun playing this, but honestly without a sound or a npc system is a bit boring, Maybe try to add some audio effects, I would like to play it with new features

The game looks good, but playing chess against oneself is a bit boring, even if I had a friend to play here it's still not that innovative. But great visuals and the explosions are giving a bit of spice into the game
