Kinda like a reverse Will you Snail, I like that.

Thanks for the response and the suggestions!

About the goal and the theme:

  • The goal was just survive as long as possible without dying, I was aiming for a more arcade-like gameplay
  • I also don’t see 100% how it fits with the theme. I was having a lot of trouble when coming up with an idea and I decided to pick one that was generated on the live that started the jam and the most interesting one was this one

Hi, found the problem and fixed it. Normally when I’m creating an itch page I leav at start the “Disable new downloads and purchases” toggle on until everything is done in the page and this time I forgot to disable that kkkkkk. The page is now updated with the source available

Weird, I’ve putted it in the page itself the source code. I’ll check this out asap and notify you

If you want a more deep view on what I said, I recommend you to watch Nerrel’s video on the Metroid series (and why before Dread’s release the series was going downhill and then back up). In the first part of the video he goes on more detail on the points I talked

I disagree with this (not platformer = not metroidvania) point of view.

The main core of Metroidvanias are the focus on progression through power-ups, exploration (both of these are the factors responsible on the backtracking in the genre) and atmosphere. That doesn’t mean there is a need for jumping (most metroidvanias do as a platformer mainly because the genre was popularized with that kind of view). There is no better example to this point of view than Metroid Prime (mainly the first one). Even tough it’s not a platfomer (but rather an FPS), it still is a Metroidvania because it has those points as their focus.

So if your game has those points as the pillars for the gameplay, you can do whatever style of controls as you want and it will be a metroidvania.

Do some human/animal failed mutant experiments counts as gore visuals? Something that can clearly be recognized as a mutated human/hybrid animal, but failed (Something a bit like the Zombie Researchers from Metroid Fusion). Also it’s on a pixel art style (I’m going for something around 32x32 for the sprite size), if this affects anything on the judgement

Does this also count things that doesn’t affect the game directly, like Odin Inspector (which just adds some helpful attributes for better Unity Inspector workflow)?

When the rules says “Using paid assets is NOT allowed”, does that include editor-only tools like Odin Inspector for Unity or does it only apply to art and sound assets?

Muito obrigado pela gameplay!!! Fico muito feliz que você tenha se divertido bastante com o jogo!

Muito obrigado, fico feliz de saber que gostou!!! Saberia me dizer qual parede que ele entrou?

I’ve tested here and now I know what happened. Basically I setted my payout settings to sell it in USD, but my father was trying to buy in BRL (which is my currency). I had to change the currency so that he could buy it

Hello. I recently decided to select one of my games to be my first game with minimum price on itch.io. To test if I set it up correctly, I asked my father to buy the game, but he can’t finish the buying operation.

He goes with the card method (since he doesn’t have Paypal) and, according to itch.io’s documentation on how buying works, after he entered all informations he should be brought to the download page, but that doesn’t happen. Am I missing something that needs to be done?

P.S.: I’ve tagged as “Question” the topic because I didn’t know if I need to mark as “Question” or as “Bug”.

It’s already out the theme in the Discord for the jam.

The idea of the game is that you need to separate what news should be added in a retrospective and what shouldn’t br added. We based all the news from real life occassions that happened during 2020 so far, so for example, the missing actrees isn’t more important to put in a retrospective then the almost start of WW3

Just a quick announcement about my game: Unfortunately, I couldn’t get to make any sound or music to the game, it isn’t finished.

Whenever I create a game and submit it on this jam, can I publish in another platform (like Steam)?

My twitter is @Pedro_Marangon

I know there is been over a year that this jam ended, but I have one question: can I remake/upgrade this game for launching in another platform (like, publish it on steam)?

After finishing the game, can I keep working on my game after the jam ends to publish in Steam, for example?

Kkkkkk
