Yeah, I had 4 different enemies designed and implemented, but my wave system never got fully tested and broke at the end 😅

Thanks for the feedback!

It definitely has a number of rough edges, but thanks for enjoying it regardless!

Thanks for the awesome review, highly appreciated :D

It's pretty unclear due to having 0 tutorial, but the saturation actually indicates when a unit can attack! We've had a lot of people miss that detail though, so some sort of tooltip system would be really important for sure.
Thanks for playing and having fun!

We didn't get a chance to put any sort of tutorial in the game, but the saturation of the snake(s) actually indicate when they can attack. I'm glad that it wasn't too confusing for you though and that you stuck around for a second try :)

Implementing a shooting button would get pretty wild considering the amount of snake parts you end up controlling, but we've seen some other people express that same interest so I'm sure there's a way to design which'd work...
I think I agree with your point on the presentation as well. If we develop this further we might go down something to make it look more like a flash game or something with hand-drawn pictures. I'm glad you like the idea though, and thanks for leaving such an energetic review~!

Thank you! Glad you had fun even with the difficulty >:D

Love the idea, we'll keep it in mind if we decide to update the game in the future!

The last 2 waves are pretty hard for sure. We were talking about adding new fruits for different classes and possibly some boss enemies in a future update if we continue development. Thanks for playing and having fun!

We had to skip any sort of tutorial and just try to make it an intuitive as possible. Colour coordination was basically our tutorial of sorts, so even though it wasn't clear at the start we're glad to hear you got a hold of it eventually :D

Great presentation, but couldn't figure out how to get past the second room. It looks like an awesome mechanic you've built up but maybe because of bugs or unclear instructions the ball kept killing me no matter what I did or how quickly I tried to run away from it. It looks super interesting though and would love to try it again sometime

Had a lot of fun with this one. Managing your cable as your get wrapped around by oncoming enemies was very engaging to manage. Awesome stuff!

Looks great, gameplay is simple but well put together. Had lots of fun with this one!

The graphics and overall aesthetic are really nice! I would say it's very loosely tied to the theme, but good job on the game :D

A fun game, if only a bit tough at times. Good work!

A bit literal with the theme, but I like the gameplay. Reminds me of a small browser game I'd find online and play in the school library :D

Love the cute artstyle!

it's a simple mechanic but I quite like it! I think it's a bit hard at times, but it's a fun little game!

Presentation is great. Chat boxes and art are all really well done. There's maybe a little too much dialogue, but I get why it's there to set up the whole story. I think my characters started getting a bit glitchy, but otherwise you had a fun little story game created!

That's the one major bug that made it through to the build. We have a few ideas why it shows up, but thankfully our spaghetti code means you can still technically play whilst that's up. Happy to hear that didn't sour your experience though!
:D

Glad you had fun!

We never once talked about Centipede during development, but I've heard about it a couple times now. I think I'm going to check it out now because of this :P

Thanks! Balancing the art-style to not make it too overblown was a bit tricky, so I'm glad you enjoyed it :D

That would probably be my one criticism about the game as well, outside of the occasional bug and general balance issues. It was fun to recreate it's mechanics though and we learnt a lot from it!

We want to add mobile controls and try get it on the playstore at some point. We reckon it'd adapt fairly well to mobile devices.
Otherwise if you want an already finished and much more polished version of this type of game, check out SNKRX. It was our main inspiration and is astonishingly underrated.

As much as we would like to take all the credit for bringing 100% new ideas to the table, we did take a lot of inspiration from a game called SNKRX. I highly recommend checking that game out if you enjoyed this (we have a link to the steam page of it on the itch page). It goes down a more rogue-like autochess route, and if you can gather the basics you'll be spending tons of time on it, it's very addictive >:D

Thanks for the feedback~!

Cheers~!

It definitely gets a little wild, glad you had fun amongst the chaos >:D

Glad you enjoyed it! Do you like that the enemies can stack up on each other like that? We are considering making some updates and whether or not they can  stack like that is in the books for possible change.

Thank you! We took a lot of inspiration from a game called SNKRX, so if you like this I'd say to check out that game

The controls were unintuitive, attacking made me jump according to the tutorial text. If it was a bit more streamlined I reckon it could be lots of fun. Love the idea of the duck and her ducklings for a game :D

The game was unfortunately broken when I attempted to play. Tried both Firefox and Chrome but the resolution seemed to not scale properly. I also wasn't sure if I was pressing the right buttons to play, so some tutorial text on the game page or in-game would be nice. Eager to try it again if those issues can be fixed!

I could somewhat cheese some of the levels by just standing in front of the right + or - machines. Neat little block pushing game though

For a short dev time I'm pretty impressed. I Iaughed when I saw what your meant when reading your hint for the last 2 levels. "It's a feature" :P

Very nice aesthetic, fits the whole minimalist vibe nicely. Had to play by myself but would be keen to play it with someone else.

Great aesthetic and mechanics, I only wish I could see the block move you move it around (outside of falling off the map). Really impressed on the rolling about physics and all the calculations that would've gone with it, great game for only 8 hours!

The keyboard movement for the red square felt really stiff, so I just beat most of the levels with the mouse and crazy physics which was a lot of fun

Art is awesome! Gameplay felt like it needed more attention, I could just spam attacks and not get hit. Cool idea though, can see this being really cool with some more work

Art and music and great! The gameplay was a bit confusing, didn't get how to attack properly for a while, guns took me a good bit more to realise that the arrows mean that's where you're going to shoot

We tried to get that with the saturation of the blobs. When they're fully coloured they are able to attack, then go desaturated. We didn't have a chance to explain that mechanic so it's a little confusing. Thanks for playing and enjoying~!
