Hey, this is a cool & fun concept, you should expand upon this more after the jam, I really enjoy my time with it! The only thing to add that I could think of right now is transition animation for when the block is rolling. Regardless, really great work! :)

Congratulation! I dont really know how do you manage to create this kind of puzzle games!

Simple, clean and cleaver idea and aprocheach to the them.

Good job! I hope to see an animated version in the future on steam or google play!

Encountered an interesting bug that maybe you already know about, but I managed to "crush" a block resulting in it disappearing without adding to my connected cubes (though it seemed to just be inside them lol). May make for an interesting mechanic for further puzzles!

Developer

Yeah, sadly something I didn't get around to fixing in time :(

Very interesting idea   of   "rolling"   the   dice.   The   music   could've been looped, but   overall   it   was   simple   and   entertaining.

Fab idea and really loved how level 3's solution needed you to rotate the L block and think more clearly in 3 dimensions. I initally fell for the trick of lining up all 4 blocks on that level too, so the design made me feel quite clever when I worked out what to do (which is obviuosly what a good puzzle game should do!) Great work on this, with some more levels added post-jam this could be a really great little game

Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. That 4-in-a-row was what I used in my testing for death animation and it felt like a fun trick to leave in. Plus it gave more options for how you could try to build shapes :)

very cool idea!! the gameplay is very easy to learn, I like how the level of difficulty is structured!!
with 4th level, it got confusing with the shapes for me...

the controls are a bit strange and animation would be great, could be fun with those

Pretty fun game, I wished the movement was animated so that I could've visualized the movement a bit better (as sometimes I felt I moved completely differently than I should). The visuals were good for the game and the music fit it!

Very fun game. I kinda wish you explore this a bit more in the future.

I've made most of the mechanics (though there are a couple bugs), so it's really just about making levels, which is pretty easy to keep up with. I was also thinking about trying my hand at a level editor for the first time. Might be fun :)

When you do that, please let me know!

It would be nice but the camera following the block insetad of being fixed made it really hard to play and enjoy.

Developer

Hmm, the camera should be following the blocks while you move, so there might've been a bug :(

Really was clean and really well executed! Especially for 8 hours! The gameplay  he music and art fit well

Thanks! I tend to ignore the aesthetics (leave things as blank white or various colors that don't blend together), but I wanted a chill puzzle experience this time and it was only about 30 min of work to get all the colors to blend well together :)

That approach worked really well for this game and definitely paid off!

The game only needs block animations and more levels :D I loved bloxorz so this game was fun too :d

Nice work :)

Developer

Thanks!

Great aesthetic and mechanics, I only wish I could see the block move you move it around (outside of falling off the map). Really impressed on the rolling about physics and all the calculations that would've gone with it, great game for only 8 hours!

Developer

I was hoping to have time to get smooth animations, but the calculations to make the rolling look realistic was daunting to say the least haha. I'd love to get some smooth motion eventually. I feel like it'd blend more with the music if that was the case :)

Felt like a nice take on similar genres. Thought it was a bit samey on the first couple levels but thought it got interesting when I could connect to more blocks than 1 and create interesting shapes to solve the puzzle. That was unfortunately the last level!

Developer(+1)

Yeah, I spent so much time on the mechanics I forgot all about making levels haha. I built all four levels in the last hour... I wanted a tutorial that would be easy to understand the concepts without any text, but due to the lack of time, I definitely didn't give the first three levels any flavor :(

Submitted(+1)

Great job, loved how you were able to present the mechanic without any introduction or tutorialization and I was still able to understand.

Developer

Thanks! My favorite tutorials are the ones that are naturally built into the play of the game, so I like to practice that myself whenever I can :)

This is a nice concept! Could definitely see this concept used as a full game.

Not bad for the time frame! But yea it's mostly just Bloxorz...
