Thanks for letting me know, Congrats!

This came out awesome! Congrats on doing so well thanks for letting me know you used my asset pack it's sick to see it in action again :D

I do be reading the comments 😎

Trail effects on the water would be super cool, I've been updating it with any free time I've gotten so maybe I'll have that here sometime soon!
Thanks for the feedback and good luck on the jam!

Really really a sick game! Great looking, good enemy variety, awesome but simple core mechanic

Good luck with the results!

Enjoyed it, I do wish the building mechanic was a bit less hard. Its kind of hard to balance that skill-based gameplay with fun from creative expression. Could definitely see it is really quite fun if you really found that balance!
Good luck with ratings!

Glad you enjoyed thank you!

Thanks!

Really simple gameplay loop, I can tell you really found the fun in the sort of calming ebb and flow of the literal waves

Good luck with ratings!

Really enjoyed it, the pacing was pretty much perfect for build-up. Overall a short and simple, but quite enjoyable experience!
Good luck with ratings!

Thank you! Simple but the fun is always the way to go for a jam, glad you think I hit that mark

Legendary high score world-record-holding #1 Tactical Fishing player in the world  FlipaPancake. Also, who knows maybe the fish just don't have much meat on them🤔

Thanks! Also yeah the cookie count was just a tad bit off but shhhhhh

I'm glad you liked how it looked, I feel like the schooling fish adds a lot to the look and vibe. Good luck to you as well!

Thanks a ton! I'm glad you enjoyed it

Yeah, my goal was to make starvation and the stress of hunger add a lot of pressure on the player. In a sense, I've kind of leaned into that kind of survival horror vibe with newer updates as well

Controls in the description now, hopefully, I'll find some time to have them show up in-game.
Also, I used boids and some other mechanics to make the fish act the way they do. Since I've updated them, I think they're maybe even more interesting now. I'd super encourage you to mess around with boids if you were enjoying the fish though they can be really fun

Good luck to you as well!

Glad you enjoyed the combat!

Thanks a ton, I'm really glad you enjoyed it! I've given it quite a few updates if you're interested in some more explosive fishing

Fun game, I really like that you had the combo system showing "x6" or however many you'd gotten. Mechanics like those are always fantastic

I love the eel getting torn apart insanely hype

Never was smh

I'm glad you enjoyed it thanks for playing!

Nice, RIP your left eardrum

Thanks, I'll be sure to if I get the chance!

Oh, well I hope you're computer's doing alright now. I'm glad you figured out the controls, thanks a ton for playing!

No I didn't realize you could do that

Yeah, wish I would've been a bit more generous with spawn distance to the boss for the original build. Thanks for playing!

Fun little game, I can't quite tell why the levels are changing but I like it, whether it's full-on crazy procedural stuff or generating out premade chunks it's nice not having to do the same thing over and over if I can't get through it. Wish it was a little more obvious from the get-go what the various items did without needing to sit through a tutorial.

The movement felt good and overall the game was felt solid. The level could have been a little more interesting and I think most importantly, sound effects would have made the experience a lot juicier. I liked the characters little animations too a cool lil dude.

Interesting game. I liked the 2 separate attacks and a block but kind of struggled to implement them. It could use a little more juiciness and polish but that's harder to do in a short jam like this.

Actually, after this comment, I played the downloadable version and the new button prompts made it easy as ever to play and I quite enjoyed it.

Super polished and responsive game, it reminds me of WarioWare which is a game series I've always absolutely loved. Sadly I have an Xbox controller rendering the controller prompts almost completely useless. Maybe beforehand having a popup of a controller highlighting the necessary buttons for the task would help with that? Although that isn't the most elegant of solutions. Better communicating how each little task is played would be fantastic, if you do this let me know I'd love to try it with that!

Really interesting idea, feels super cool to play and satisfying to finish the levels. Sadly halfway through I just gave up because it was so difficult. Having some visible "anchor points" or "landmarks" might make it a little  easier to not give up. That or giving lives or checkpoints maybe? I think it has the potential to be a really beautiful game with a little more time put in!

Oh my god, you spent 20 minutes playing my game that's bonkers, especially in the jam version. I thoroughly enjoyed the vid. It was entertaining and really nice to hear someone else's thorough thoughts on the game. Sadly I kinda over scoped for having started late, but most of the later work I did was just laying foundations for making adding more stuff easier. So there's undoubtedly more to come!

boo!

Thanks a ton for the feedback! The atmosphere is probably my favorite part about this game. As for the surprise captures, I was crunched for time and kind of just ignored the problem of getting sniped across the map by pieces, after the Jams over I'll update it. I already have a version with that working and some other pretty rad changes.

This is probably the most fun I've had playing  someone elses Jam game, starting off I was a little skeptical of the art though. The gameplay was super fun though, the music was nice too, I ended up playing through the whole thing, I especially thought the oxygen bar was a cool idea for essensially health. My biggest gripe is probably that the portals were pixel art and that seemed weirdly out of place. Super fun though!

I really liked the sounds for this game, super visceral. Overall the game was a spin on an interesting concept. Maybe having other identifiers for when monsters are coming like footsteps running toward you could add to the enviornemnt. I also feel like having a more diverse level layout would be nice. Overall, I enjoyed playing and I think this concept has a lot of potential.

I love the concept of this game and the art looked super nice in screenshots, sadly I think the size of the html window distorted the pixel art. It also took me a bit to start using the mechanics in the first few simpler levels. By the end though using the mechanics to get through the level and getting all the coins was really fun!
