Very satisfying little game (loved the music in the background)
I enjoyed playing it !
For the controls, looking back it, after a couple of days out of the game: they are difficult to see at first glance, every binds (beside the repo bind which indeed cannot be changed in this version) works perfectly for me (even after being rebinded), the intent behind letting the player switch keys was to let them play with their favorite keys layout (maybe they like all game keys close to each other, maybe they like to have them far apart, etc).
For the game goals (as stated in the game description): you need to gather resources (with your gun) to repair your mech and re-establish contact with the outside world, you can view and be reminded of the objectives by popping the escape menu and click the help section, now I did thought after submitting the game that it lacked a bit of explanation (which I added further down the game page) but since I didn't know if we were allowed to modify after submitting, I left my game build unchanged.
Sorry for the inconveniences and thank you for playing !
Thank you for playing and for the feedback :)
The terrain change was on my mind but I decided not to add it and rather put the emphasis on the blocks.
The more horsepower/less weight the car has, the faster it goes, it's just that some upgrades takes a couple of turns to be activated (as indicated).
I did tried to fit a level counter on the screen but it didn't work with the UI (it just made it bigger than it should be and more invasive onto the art)
Yes, I heard of the erase launch bug and it will be fixed next update :)
Thank you for playing !
Yes, a day or two after submitting, I did felt like adding extra indications at the beginning could have served the game better but I didn't wanted to be the kind of dev that literally hold your hands throughout the game with invasive tutorials, so I didn't explain everything, thinking that players would figure it out while playing, that's clearly on my part (I'll do better next time on this specific section).
The terrain/biome changes every 5 levels, but yeah not much in terms of gameplay difference then again I've put the emphasis on the blocks mechanics.
Maybe I'll comeback to this game, I don't know I am kinda busy with other games projects :)
Simple game with nice art & sound and it's in 3D too ? Now that's gotta be pretty high in the rankings
...also I purposely lost the first time to see what happened if you failed and was (like the ship) blown away, very cool ending sequence: the light/music change, the space view switch and the ship animation !
