Excellent game here! Love all of the little jokes here and there in the design phase. I played the game for quite a bit, and while it was fun, it did feel kind of slow at some points. It reminded me of old flash games I used to play! Honestly, if you sped up the game a bit, I think it'd be perfect.
Nice work here!
Really nicely done! Lots of nice touches with player feedback as well.
This is a gem! I had a blast with this one, the gameplay overall felt simple yet really fun and the visuals are stunning. The intro where you build your own mech with the different parts were nicely done, great work! I feel like it is lacking a bit on the sound department, it got a bit repetitive after a while.
Loved the game as a whole! The pixel art is really awesome and all the mech and enemy design are so well done! Gameplay was really fun, its simple but addicting with a lot of cool customisation parts, and I love that those parts really add some great replayability with all the different stats and having to balance everything well.
Great and interesting movement and shooting. Took time to get used to it.
I really enjoyed this one - lots of cool customization options and it's interesting to have to consider different options such as the weight limit, speeds, health, etc. Weapons all felt pretty varied and interesting and the game loop was easy to understand. Also kinda addictive haha, was easy to feel that "just one more run" feeling. Game looks really cool too, great aesthetics.
Loved the mech customization aspect and the visuals,
the controls were kinda hard at first but it got better after playing for a bit
Good game overall :)
Solid top down arena shooter.
I really like the approach of being able to build your mech and fully customize its loadout before you head into the arena to kill some bugs, the UI is also really well made and i dig the closing door transition between screens.
The pixel art is also pretty nice, the mech parts and ants seem all nice and detailed.
My main gripe is that progression feels a bit slow, it’s quite hard to survive all that long the the default guns so you can’t rack all that much cash each run, i feel that other parts & weapons in the shop should have info on how or when you can unlock them cause some parts i had the cash for but they were still not available to purchase so i had no idea what to do to unlock more.
other than that the name’s fitting cause it was a blast to play :D (couldn’t resist the joke sorry)
Nice game, Good job ^^
This game made my pp hard while I played it.
Very fun game, the customization felt great!
Honestly really great. I love how you took this genre and added tank controls. I think it's awesome you had a solid progression system in a jam game that made me want to keep replaying it. I think the real thing here if the focus on the gameplay loop and really not adding any fluff that is unnecessary.
The art is really consistently well done. Everything feels really well designed, I genuinely think that's hard to do in a jam game and especially with this high quality! Even the animations are consistently styled.
I think the mech building mechanic is really cool and how the head and legs have some similar values and expands more on flexibility of playstyle rather than being forced into one playstyle based on leg choice for example. I personally really enjoyed the frog legs and the high mobility, but being a weapon of a mech was pretty fun too.
Really cool game and I loved the background music.
This is a perfect jam entry. It has tons of replayability through the different combinations of Mech Parts but a round length is still pretty short (i think i averaged between 2-3 min). Different mech parts have different strengths and weaknesses, which then also enable different playstyles. (Beeing very mobile single weapon vs beeing heavy with a ton of firepower, but extremely hard to manouver). Sounds and visuals fit together nicely, the mech feels appropriately heavy and there is no lack of weapon impact (the appropriate amount of screen shake).
The movement feels pretty janky at first, because you’re rotating 2 elements against or with each other, which is quite complicated, but it offers the possibility of skill expression through the combination of those 2 rotations, which is great. You can mitigate a slow turning tower with turning in the same or opposite direction of your base, so in the end i think this movement mechanic is great.
The crafting is also great, the weight limit makes you really think about what kind of combinations you want, without just picking the most overpowered ones always, so you’re really inclined to explore which combinations work best for you.
I have 2 minor issues, one is the Plasma Bullet hitbox from the bug feels a bit ambiguous, i often thought i was getting hit but it just passed me, but i guess it’s hard to balance between not making the hitbox the whole mech. The secon is that the gattling gun is quite loud compared to the rest, i think it can be toned down a bit.
I also had some sound glitches, which was hard clipping on all sounds. On the web version this happened immediately, so i tried the windows one where it only happened after playing quite a while. (Especially when using the gattling gun, seems like there are probably too many sounds playd at the same time / too many sounds created at the same time)
I just have one question to ask. What did those poor ants ever do to you? :P
whoever wrote the mech part descriptions deserves a high five. audibly chuckled at them :))
It is a really cool and adictive game, i found engaging making different builds and loved the visuals. I might play again to get all the parts.
Great gameplay, and I love the sound and music!
Super fun game! My favorite robot parts were the quick ones (frog and, cob?), with the piercing weapon. I wasn't very fond of the heavier ones hehe. The customization in this game is amazing, y'all did a great job with it.
Oh, and that UI when assembling your robot is an eye catcher. Good job!
Really awesome game and enjoyed it a lot. Loved the large selection of parts and customization. Wish the legs turned a bit faster. That's the only gameplay gripe was that turner was so slow and even slower on the heavier legs. I would have really liked if the game could go Fullscreen, I heard there is a function in Godot to allow that. Blasting the bugs with all the different weapons was a lot of fun. It was great that the Plasma Bugs had armor and that some weapons could damage the bug through the armor. I really liked the strategy involved in that. I would love to see more levels, mech parts and enemies.
Great game
