Nice, I like how fast-paced this game is, and the music and art reflect that as well!
I was only ever able to get one wave to spawn, and the game runs a little fast, but it wasn't half bad. The upgrades I tried seemed rather small, but I imagine things would get more and more elaborate as the waves continued, though I probably would have had a hard time keeping up. Music and art were great and did a really good job of selling the "city under dire threat" vibe you were going for. Good touch!
Very nicely designed with a great aesthetic. It needs some work to make it feel a bit more impactful, and having to switch between keyboard and mouse hurt the pacing. Overall though it is a cool concept and I would love to see something like this developed further into the mecha version of something like Risk of Rain or Vampire Survivor.
I saved City6!
Nice aesthetic, and great job with the music, it really gets you pumped!
I went full armor regen and blades, which turned out to be an incredibly OP combination hehe. No punch/electric wave needed, I was just charging into enemies like a madman and destroying everything in my path. Very fun. Great job!
Loved the upgrading system and the movement of the mech. I think it needs platforms to jump to and enemies spawner should in varied places after the floating platforms are made.
Tough side scroller survival game. Needs a little tweaking but pretty good. Wave spawn timing feels off because I was waiting for a long time between waves to spawn. Might want to add a button to press to instant start next wave or stand in location for that. Might want to add health drops, I made it to wave 3 but was losing a ton of HP with only one way to recover and the regen was super slow. I suggest adding a select upgrade system that doesn't involve the mouse, you are asking players to take a hand off the keyboard and then rush back after selecting an upgrade. If not able to find a way to use keyboard to select upgrade, might be nice to add a couple seconds of invincibility with level up. The mechs look really cool and the background is a bit too good cause I want to stare at it for a bit, haha. Is it a recording or are there actual enemies spawning and turrets shooting them? I think this could be much more fun with just a little tweaking. Best of luck.
Yeah... using the mouse was a bad idea, but duo to planning my schedule badly I had to rush with some implementations haha
Thank for your feedback! :)
And yes, the background is happening in real time! The screen shakes that happen from time to time are in fact when the turrets fail to destroy an enemy when it hits the ground. I was going to animated even more but it was already too distracting haha, but I'm glad you like it!
Great arcade game! Kudos to the art style especially :)
I only wish there was a way to regain health automatically like with level-ups or completing a wave. Also reducing wait time between waves or at least displaying the remaining wait time with the top right timer would be nice.
Definitely I agree with you and others who mention the Wave Timer, I did a big miscalculation on how long would a player take to clean then :/. Thanks for your feedback :D
This is very cool. I love how you matched the color and style through and through. I loved the music as well. I liked the side scrolling action take on the survivors model too, that brought something unique to the idea I haven't seen yet. My biggest feedback is that sfx would be awesome for this one and I'm sad it didn't have any. It made it hard to tell if I was getting hurt or not as well. I also didn't love how you have to click with you mouse and then quickly jump back to using j and k to avoid getting hurt. Like others have said too, the time between waves was long. I think maybe that was intended so that you could regain some health in between waves, which I appreciate, but would have been cool to just regain it automatically without having to wait so long. I would love to see this more developed!
:`( the lack of time screw me over, I didn't had the time to find proper sound FX's, Also I agree with u and other comment who mention the mouse as a bad idea! Thank you for your feedback and I'm glad u enjoyed the art :D
Nice little game :)
liked the visuals and the upgrades felt nice, although waiting for the next wave to start was dull from time to time
I'm glad you like it! :D
the game is nice and a little problem between wave the time is too long.
Yeah, I did a HUGE miscalculation with the timer :(, thanks for your feedback!
Nice game, might be a bit too easy at points though!
I'm glad u enjoy it haha :), I was more focus on making it work before thinking about difficulty.
This is a fun, arcade-y concept, but there needs to be more feedback when hurting enemies and being hurt yourself. There's also a game-breaking bug where, when at the end of a wave, the enemies don't spawn and the wave lasts for...for a while (I went five minutes before giving up and restarting). I also don't know if all the upgrades work as intended...
I will check for bugs on the Waves, thanks for letting me know :) !
I thought the presentation was great and I was having fun, but the first wave never ended and the enemies refused to spawn D:
All the waves are timed so maybe that's that haha, but I will look it up for any bugs :)
Thanks for playing!
The visuals and animations were solid! The upgrade system did trivialize the game somewhat though. After I got the blades upgrade, it was easy for me to stand outside one of the enemy spawners and instantly destroy them as they came out while I spammed attacks at the enemies coming from the other direction. Still, it had a nice feel to it and the inclusion of upgrades at all made the gameplay surprisingly robust!
My initial idea was making more enemy types, so "exploiting" would be necessary in the final waves, but I didn't had the time :( .
All in all thanks for playing my game :D
I really love the visuals! The feeling of moving around is really nice and I like how fast-paced it is. Love the upgrade system. I can't help but wish there were sounds for attacks and enemies and such as it would add so much to the feedback of the game BUT being a solo submission, its absence is definitely understandable. Overall great job! Really cool submission :)
Thanks for understand haha :) I wish I had managed my time better for this one but at least I was able to make some musics for the game! Thanks for playing :D
