thank you so much!! this means a lot

amazing atmosphere! really solid interaction, dialogue, and movement systems, and sound was done really well too!

really nice art style and atmosphere

really lovely game. Art and descriptions are amazing, game concept is really solid. I couldn't figure out how to get any other endings, maybe between games there could be 'hints' or something. Really great work, you should be proud!

thank you!! I wanted to do more castle but the scope just wouldn't allow it, I think I'll make a followup that has you do more in/around the castle like walking on outside ledges and rooftops while trying to avoid detection from Dracula

thank you! that may have been a happy accident, there was a last minute bug that made the camera way too short and I may have overcompensated but I like it so now it's intentional

thanks! Yeah this is based on Dracula. and yeah the menus have some buttons that don't work, they'll be fixed after voting, I never got around to fixing those in the debug period

Great concept and very well executed. Does anything else happen after the thing blows your candle out?

I utilized this pack in my submission for Scream Jam 2024 and it turned out really well! https://novicewizard.itch.io/this-dreadful-place

Now this is what you can do with gamemaker, very impressive. well done!

you can't just put a big truck in the middle of the path to the first NPC because I WILL crash that truck before talking to ANYONE

really amazing stuff here, amazing story and implications, outstanding pixel art. bravo

wow, what a game, this is gorgeous!! and massive! very impressive

I'm so hyped to try out everyone's games

Lots of fun and some really nice art, well done!

In the end I found I made this one pretty robust (I will be wrong lmao)

I really like the vibe but I got stuck in the kitchen/living room and all the doors are locked lol

you can fix those doorways casting shadows (walls letting light in) by selecting all the walls and checking on "Shadow Two-Sided", I ran into that problem in my game too. Also, the default map is set to the demo one, not your game's entrypoint

"yeah sure why not" what's he gonna do, harvest my organs anyway? yeah. great game.

"yeah sure why not" I don't know what I expected. 10/10

hi! Here's mine, I'm going to play yours now!

Really lovely banter and an inspired art style. A few improvements could see this being a really solid point and click: dedicated cursor and clearly marked bounds where interaction will happen, I found myself clicking a lot trying to find what needs to be clicked, and it took me a solid minute to see the arrow lol. I really love the characters and hope you keep going.

Thanks! I fell in love with Dracula but found that there weren't nearly enough scenes in the Castle, and that inspired me to make this. I love building castles and ideally this has you exploring the castle top to bottom and outside on the roof, but that was way too big of a scope.

very nice!!

amazing game, played this for hours

10/10 unintentionally hilarious. I knew the car was the suspicious secret but the way it was was completely unexpected. absolutely spectacular game

thank you for your thoughtful reply! Yes this is directly inspired by Chapter 7 of Bram Stoker's Dracula. I really like the concept here, and we even have a fairly thorough and wonderful design document that our excellent writer made with all of the components, but the scope was just too big to put all together in a week.  I think I'm going to finish this in the next month or so.

super cute
