This one was really fun. Good difficulty scaling. I can see the Vampire Survivors inspiration, and there’s obviously a ton more ideas from that game that could be incorporated here. My one thought is that the mana system feels a little bit awkward. I played 3 times, and in two of those runs it really hindered my ability to attack (the fun part), and I was unable to build around it. I think that could be improved by just increasing the base restoration rate though, or restoring much faster after waiting for a few seconds. Anyway, great job!
really fun game here, great progression and simple design, and it gets hard! but not too fast. I made it around 3 minutes my first time lol. I could really see this going the distance with some graphical polishing, but this is phenomenal for a game jam!
This has been the most fun to play for me. Great work
I've played around 20 minutes of it, it can become quite addictive to get as far as possible.
Leveling up is satisfying, the abilities increase not just by a little when you level them up, so you feel your character grow stronger each time. The music and art are my favorite part of the game, it's really well done!
One thing that I was missing was the ability to shoot at enemy projectiles, and thus giving oneself the ability to dodge better by simply removing the obstacle. The difficulty ramped up a little too quick in my opinion (or perhaps I just suck, haha!).
All in all, a very fun experience!
Good Game, I can feel Halloween Event Vibes of this game. This is great for a mini-game in a horror game.
Cool little game, wouldn’t consider it the usual horror type as there isn’t any story or scares but it’s a nicely made halloween themed roguelite and all the mechanics work well, cool stuff.
This was a really fun time! The gameplay was engaging, and the aesthetics were solid. Everything from the art and the music captured vibes that might not be horror but fits with the spooky times. 💜
We're so glad you liked it! This time we decided not to do something scary, but I have more than a few ideas for Capital-H Horror games that we may put to work sooner or later! We're so proud of our composer and artist for their brilliant work on the game, and we're delighted that people like their work as much as we do!

What a fun game! I had a build of regular projectile, homing laser, reduce damage, EXP to mana, and exploding enemies. After I fully upgraded my weapons, no enemy was able to stop me.
Really cool! Adding a reason in a STG to not shoot is a compelling idea. Killing big groups of enemies with the wave projectile was very satisfying. Awesome boss fight too!
This was a very enjoyable game. Very fun music, lovely artwork, and solidly fun game play make, in my opinion, an excellent entry into the Scream Jam!
If I was to comment on anything, it would be that some of the attacks (especially from the player), don’t have a weighty enough sound effect behind them (except the beam… I, and others, liked the beam sound). I’m thinking, specifically, of the blue bullets. They feel a bit lifeless.
Over all, very minor critique for a solid game done in 7 days! Excellent work to everyone!
Here’s a link to my stream of the game! Excellent for haunting your friends with! :D
Love the art style, love everything about it. It's like a survivors bullet hell game. Got addicted to seeing what the best build was - I think it might be the pulse lazer!
Overall, one of the best games I have played during this jam :)
I'd definitely say this is the most fun I've had playing a game jam game in a long time! The gameplay is very addicting. I always want to get the next upgrade! That's the kind of gameplay I wanted to evoke with Rotting Railway, but I didn't pull it off nearly as well. Great job, I'm definitely coming back to this one!
This was a really fun scroller game. I managed to get myself up to Level 9. My favorite projectile was the ord. Really great job on this. Loved all the different upgrades and projectiles you can choose from.
