that was really fun! I think the only thing that would improve the game feel would be adding sound effects to the attacks, like a hit sound whenever reimu hits a ying yang or a master spark six or something. Also I didn't use the defend command once , too risky to waste a turn not doing dps. maybe that could have been a once per turn heal instead?
I love the monopoly-esque cards especially the angry chimata one , I'm sorry chimata!!! I don't know how capitalism works.
Also I got trapped by a kokoro doki doki card, had no resources and could no longer progress or quit. Definitely coming back to this one to figure out a strategy.
Wait IS THAT HANA!?!?!?whoa!!!!!
This overall is a greatly polished jam game! the visuals, design, and storytelling are all top notch. the game movement also feels good and the 3d stages look super well done for a 3 day jam! The only place where this game suffers is difficulty balancing, the game feels really unforgiving if you play it by trying to weave between bullets like in a danmaku game, and the way I beat it (by memorizing where the enemies spawn and destroying them before they can shoot bullets) feels like I cheesed it. Other than that very good!
I think if this game leaned more into the "use your dearly departed mikos to beat the kaizo traps!" angle more, like a puzzle platformer, I'd personally enjoy it more. The second to last level certainly feels the most suited to it (it's also the hardest I feel). It's neat how you don't have to rely on the gimmick to beat the game , but Miko yeets herself too fast for precise platforming to my liking.
Music and graphics were very charming!
I too live in fear of the Snaunn.
When Yuuma showed up I was expecting her to also add another "helping" stage hazard and was disappointed when she woke us up. I wanted more game!!!! make MORE game!!! dodging the funny barking snail was fun and the dialogue between the matriarchs was also fun. I just wish there where more levels!!!
it took me the longest time to realize that I could let go of the "z" key. and then I could play the rest of the game!!
the dialogue was very funny 10/10 would read again and the music was also a bangers (plz put that yuyuko stage mix on youtube plz) the danmaku was really dense tho, a little too dense for my liking but no lives system means no problem!
I had fun!!!!
I'm sorry Ringo!!! but I find playing as Seiran way more fun!
I really like how there is like a sweet spot to hit enemies with the mallet, and nailing a bunch of enemies that are lined up feels really satisfying. There're lots of other touches that really add to that arcade-y game feel, such as those screen shakes and zoom ins that make playing feel really good! the little introduction comic was also really well done .
awesome 10/10 honeymoon would make Seiran and Ringo kiss again
This visual novel had such pretty art direction! I was wowed by that special picture for the bit at the end. the UI was also really clean and cozy! The little movement animations, although simple, really added to the storytelling and the music added lots of atmosphere too. I really liked kutaka's goofy theme the best! This and room of a thousand petals are probably my favorite vns from the jam.
good job echoing hearts team!
