(I'm using Unity 2022.3.9f1)

Bug: when using 'light' GUI theme, buttons in Better Rule Tile editor window are nearly un-readable.

Bug: toolbar button images are bit too large and "hang off" the bottom of the buttons

Maybe not a bug, but a code-smell: In Runtime/Scripts/BetterRuleTileContainer.cs, there are several functions with code like this:

    var cell = _grid.Find(t => t.Position == tiles[i].Position );
    if (cell != null) cell = tiles[i];
    else _grid.Add(tiles[i]);

In this case 'cell' is not used and the assignment will likely be optimized away, but the code is misleading (there are several variants of this code in the various Area / Block functions.

This tool is **SO CLOSE** to being exactly what I need for my game -- but I really need rotate/flip options on the sprites when I draw them in the better rule tile editor.  My tiles are symmetrical, and I'd rather not have to rotate them in photoshop when unity is quite happy to rotate them (since it means re-doing manual physics shapes, etc.).  Any chance of getting that feature?

Thanks for the review.  We are adding a "go down" button -- but different asteroids will also have different gravity (the included asteroid would be a larger, later level, but we included it because the actual first level is very short (tutorial, but didn't have time to finish it)

Very atmospheric. interesting concept!

interesting idea.  implementation needs some work.  Not sure how diving deeper theme fits in.  Why are the controls so sluggish?

fun but challenging game (I stink at this kind of thing!)

fun little game.  needs a little more tutorial, I think.

Thanks for your comments.  We've got a lot of plans for the game going forward.  hopefully we'll be able to get it together in a couple of months.

Thanks for the comments, and thanks for noticing the "little things" that we added! (My problem is that I get obsessed by the little things and the big picture of "making a complete game" gets sent by the wayside -- need to concentrate of making it a game, first, and then making those little tweaks).

Fun little game!  perfectly fits the theme (though I kept accidentally hitting the break-through-floor button :-) )

Super cool game.  Excellent, consistent graphics, fun gameplay and replayability.  congratulations!  More people need to see this game!

cute concept.  Hard to remember which direction is which -- maybe some kind of on-screen guide?  or giving a little more space for the initial poses?  Great job!

Thanks for your comments.  downthrust is coming, as well as enemies that are actually dangerous (and provide fuel for your jetpack when you zap 'em).

Thanks for your comments!  We have definite plans for juno.  She will eventually help you gather crystals, help with the enemies, and guide you to the final crystals on a map, if you miss one

A beautiful little game.  slower-paced ecco the dolphin vibe.

good solid first effort.  needs something to give it a sense of "speed" when you're about to burn up (and then one quick burst with the thrusters stops all of your descent?).  solid little game.

love it.  played through to the end. DAMN YOU STEVE!

devilishly difficult, but tight controls and a bit of a twisted sense of humor!  love it!

Excellent! cute graphics, tight controls and a leaderboard?  amazing!

Great little game.  The music and SFX are perfect for the game!

short but sweet (well, not exactly, but no spoilers :-)  amazing effort for 8 7 days!

Great game!  More levels, please?

+1 for folder dungeon.  one of the best games I've played in any jam.

... about as much time as defeating 10 roasters ;-) ;-)

(1 edit)

it's definitely unfinished.  We're going for the "cozy" demographic :-)

If you're talking about when juno's head appears in the telescope as she jumps around on the surface? that's actually a bug (that may stay in :-) ... the telescope "lens" is a sphere (the only "3d" object in the game) which is texture mapped with a RenderTexture from its own camera -- but I forgot to clear the "Radar" layer from the LayerMask of the camera, so you're seeing the (rather large) radar/minimap icon of juno :-)

thanks for your comments.  We have music for the levels, but a not-enough-time-to-fix last minute bug with the background music system caused me to pull it.   Being able to 'thrust' downward is also on the list of TODO'.

 After the grading period is up, we will have an enhanced version with _so_many_ bugs fixed :-)

If you think that cave is big :-)  But, juno will be much more helpful in the next version (right now she will pick up crystals for you, but she will eventually help you with the enemies and she will help you find the last few crystals if you get lost, or miss some!

yeah, the game was developed with 1080p resolution in mind, but I neglected to check other resolutions before I posted to itch.io.  I have a fixed version, but in the spirit of the jam, I haven't uploaded it (there are other fixes in there, too).  After the rating period, I'll upload a new version.  Thanks for the review

Nice. amazing that was all done in a week!

adorable!

(voting/commenting on Seashell Thief) ... cute little game.  a little on the short side, but the snarky dialog was worth the trip!

interesting concept and really nice graphics.  Controls are not very intuitive, though.

I'll have what he's smoking .... WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Interesting dungeon concept.  It's hard to see what card you land on because your piece is in the way, so I ended up going off of the sound cues, but it took a bit to figure out what they all were.

love the graphics and the music, but need a little more guidance on what's what!

It's no "comedy central presents... ", but it's a pretty funny and fun game.  Certainly a different take on the theme than most of us :-)

I think you nailed the theme and left me wanting more!  very atmospheric! (Did run into a small bug where the character got stuck in 'jump' mode, but was grounded, so couldn't jump again -- ended up 'breaking the cycle' by moving against a wall.  Great job!

cute graphics, fun game!

Fun and funny little crime puzzler.  Some of the dialog may be a bit too long, but overall, great job!
