The music here tells the story so well! It's really sweet and comfortable all the way through even when each track is able to convey different feelings. I especially like the first one

Thanks! The falling quintuplet pattern in the 2nd track was something I had conceptualized as a major theme of the game, but I didn't get the chance to incorporate it more heavily

Oh my god, this is like an actual real video game that could exist. this is one of the most professional things I've heard so far in this jam. Every track is so distinct and evocative, and just plain enjoyable to listen to with never a dull moment. I would love to hear your music appear in an actual game someday, golly

HOLY SHIT. This has so much going for it. The piano melodies, the atmospheric strings, the effects created by the overlapping wind parts, and the really simple chromatic elements of that main melody add so much to it. The weird watery synthesized sound effects make the setting feel really alive; though they could probably be mixed a little better if you're planning on continuing this project. Sometimes the way they're done feels like someone's breathing into my ears or directly brushing the microphone. Sometimes that effect really works in the music's favor though, and it could be what you're going for? Either way this is amaaaaaaazing

I can clearly picture this track as part of an emotional climax; it strikes a balance between sheer intensity and a calm melancholy. Stunning work!

I've watched multiple Ghibli movies recently, so I can really hear the inspiration! Very pretty, I can imagine this as a movie soundtrack... in terms of games I can imagine this in something like owlboy. It does a great job of evoking imagery of nature and weather

THIS IS GORGEOUS! the chiptune and other instruments play off each other so well, and it strikes a perfect balance of having a really striking and memorable melody and being really atmospheric (I guess that's a good word for it? I mean the combination of instruments creates a really strong kind of soundscape).

also like everyone else, this reminds me of celeste, though it has it's own style going on, with the chiptune moreso emphasizing a sense of nostalgia, even if that wasn't intended. If you were going to expand on this soundtrack, it might be interesting to emphasize that aspect in the mixing and instruments used.

Also I think the mix could use a little more lower-end frequencies but that's the only real definitive criticism I have. Beautiful

Thanks! Yours is really cool as well, I'm going through it right now! It also sounds like it has a weirdly similar premise for the antagonist, though I didn't really get into the evil doppelgänger stuff in the description of my game. Funny how that happens lol

I know we're not supposed to use music we've already written obviously but if I were to use a story and characters and a setting that I've already come up with, would that be against the spirit of an event like this?

Hello there! I'm a composer looking to work on a game jam. I know there's a lot of musicians around, but if you're interested in my particular style of music let me know! I like to play around with themes and use them in various ways, using different harmonies, instrumentations, rhythms, etc.

These are some of my favorite tracks I've written so far:
