Glad you liked it especially the art! I don't consider myself an artist so that means a lot :).

Thanks of the comments. Aware it is potentially a bit too difficult :D

Nice tower effect! I wanted to do something similar with my game but it wasn't as good. Nice work :)

Thanks for adding browser support, it is a super impressive game. Enjoyed my time with it :)

Enjoyed this! Nice and simple puzzler.

Music slapped. Jump SFX could be a bit lower. But great stuff!

Ah that is a shame, I do think the difficulty is probably a bit on the hard side :( - thank you for playing!

Hi Bruno,

Thanks for your detailed comment. I really appreciate your feedback. Was going to answer a few of the points below. Rest assured I welcome the feedback and the kind comments :), and I do broadly agree with you

-Audio levels: Music is really quiet. SFX goes up to 0dBFS (clipping). I turned the volume up to listen to the music and as soon as I lost the sfx woke up the person in 1 room away.

Thanks for this. Interesting. I felt when I put the music on top of the sound effects I couldn't hear the SFX or it sounded garbled, so reduced the music. Happy to take your lead on it though and decrease the SFX volume to a similar level.

-The tower-rotation effect would benefit from 2D cylinder warp effect (time consuming. totally understandable it wasn't a priority).

It is my first game jam and also my first real experience with developing games with a physics/graphics engine, so I will say not only was it not a priority, but I didn't know what a Cylinder Warp effect was until you mentioned it! Cheers, will explore :)

-It could be smoother for the gameplay if losing wont send you back to the title screen. Also reducing the 3,2,1, timer would make insta-retrying multiple times smoother and encourage replayability.

Interesting. I put in the 3,2,1 timer because a) I realised the music kinda kicked in after 3 seconds so I wanted it to sync a bit, and b) I didn't want people to feel unprepared when starting (the timer kicked in straight away and I wanted a preparation like in a racing game). But yes, I think maybe a "retry" and "go to title" buttons may be better? To give folks a choice rather than forcing them back would be an acceptable solution.

Thanks again for the kind words :)

First comment on the art style! Glad you loved it :) (I don't consider myself an artist XD).

Thanks for playing. Glad you liked the music :)

Not sure if if you updated this before the update below but I couldn't draw a circle around the base, and found it tricky. Nice work :)

Fun take on the tower defence formula. My only slight criticism was the music seemed to stop and start, and the two different tunes didn't gel together I found. But good fun :)

Thanks for playing! Yeah may have ramped the difficulty up a bit too hard :)

Glad you liked it. No bias necessary :)

Nice and chilled game. Like you said very much similar in style to mine :) - but I love the chip tunes, and its a lot more chill. Like the idea suggested below of a free run mode without the meteors and appreciate the difficulty curve.

Really enjoyed this puzzler! Couldn't complete but really good :)

This is exactly my sort of game, so a big fan of it. Probably my favourite of the Jam so far.

Enjoyed that. Nice pacing and a great little mini-Metroidvania game :). Really good.

Fun concept to the game! Enjoyed it :)

Thanks for playing! :D

Thanks for playing.

Yeah the difficulty I'm keen to look at the next version. Either the gradual difficulty or a bit of a slow down mechanic. Maybe bigger hit boxes.

(1 edit)

Nice time! Reckon it's the best I've seen so far.

Did you get the screen below for about 3 seconds and then the title screen? I think I set the "Press mouse to continue" to fire when the text box appears, which may explain it. Will fix.

Thanks for playing :)

Ooh! I like. Struggled a bit with the controls on a laptop and double click for the bow but I'm fairly sure it's my end with issues. But for the Game Jam it's a great little RPG :)

I was promised de_dust!

Enjoyed it :)

Thanks for playing! Yeah I regret making it too hard. Seems to be a common theme with the feedback, probably should have made the hitboxes a bit bigger. Ah well. v2 will have that.

Pretty good :) - enjoyed it. Slightly wonky collision detection but played it through to the end :)

Thanks (and thanks for the review). You can do it! :)

Thanks for playing and glad you liked it - hope it wasn't too frustrating and well done for climbing the tower! :)

Enjoyed this :). Fun way to kill half an hour. Great job!

Creative mechanic! Like other comments I do think a better explanation on how the bubble scales would be great, but a definite enjoyable game there :)

Love this!

I'm nitpicking here, but maybe something visual to know "Restart" is in the "Pause" menu, I got stuck on one level and had to hunt. And a sound when you flick the switch.

But a very cute art style. More please :)

Enjoyed it! Probably the best game I've played at the GMTK Game Jam so far this year :)

I did find it quite easy mind. I couldn't work out what the "Fractal Integrity" was (I ended on -10k). Maybe some way to offer jeopardy. So a bit of tinkering with the difficulty, or a high score method, would be great :)

But overall, a good fun game :)

Really enjoyed this! :) Probably my favourite Balatro clone out there.

Polish wise I'd like a way to disable the music/sound effects, and balancing probably a little on the easy side, but definitely a game I'd love to play more. Hell I'd probably pay for it if it came out on Steam/other systems.
