Was having fun until I was in the room with the countdown button and I walked off the screen somehow, and everything was black. Bug?

A fun little metroidviania. I found a couple issues:

When the game is fullscreened, the text gets gray anti-aliasing pixels. It looks perfectly non-AA at the size in the embed however, so I didn't remove points for that.

Trying to jump back up after falling from the double jump room can variously either black out the screen or let you walk outside the map. I thought it was intentional at first, since the text encourages you to try the double jump. (Unless there really is a secret there 👀)

To be honest, I did not even realize that I added a Fullscreen button, and you were right about the text(nice observation)! The way the game works is that it teleports the camera +800 or -800 on the x, y, or whichever direction you go. That is most likely the cause of the black screen, as the entire background is set to a default black! Thank you for these observations, and I will do my best to fix them in the future!

Thank you!

Very atmospheric! Simple, yet very well executed. I'll be honest, I got a little stuck after I picked up the water, but very cool game still. Nice!

Submitted

I really love this! The pickup messages were super fun. A very nice casual/chill platformer.

Developer(+1)

Lol thanks! I worked super hard on it!

I had a bit of trouble figuring out where to go with the water can, but when I figured that out I had no issues with the game, really fun little game!
I do think the jump felt a bit floaty

Like the minimalist style of the game. wish the gameplay is longer. overall very chill game.

Developer

Thanks! I also wish the gameplay was longer, but I got really lazy and out of ideas so -_-

Really fun little metroidvania! The controls feel really good and i like how funky the walk animation is
Great job!

Really liked the minimalist aesthetics, and chill music. Plus it's surprisingly packed with features for a short game)

Developer

Thanks! I made all the art, which was actually inspired by some random  google image lol!

Really enjoyed this one and especially loved the challenging twist there at the end. I think you made good use of the tools that allowed you to backtrack and uncover areas that were previously blocked off.

Submitted

Enjoyed that. Nice pacing and a great little mini-Metroidvania game :). Really good.

Developer

Thanks!

The game is certainly not the most original, but jeez how much I love metroidvania, and this metroidvania within a jam is executed just beautifully

Submitted

Simple but interesting. There no much advance mechanic but that all  we need. Congratulation.

Developer

Thank you! *Fun fact! This was actually my first time using screenshake, so chatgpt was a lifesaver :D

Submitted

Short and sweet, really enjoyed this! Great atmosphere and focus on little details (like the music changing when you're underwater). Nice job!

Submitted

The music changes and chunky pixels are lovely. In the final section, when the red floor chases you I didn't feel much pressure as the floor was out of sight after a while. Otherwise, very good!

Developer

Thanks! I thought about having the lava speed up the farther you are away from it, but my mom tried out the game, and I wanted to appeal to bad players too lol!

Submitted

Vibes are immaculate, feel like this could be a fully fleshed metroidvania

Developer

Thank you very much! Maybe I will revisit this again in the future!

Submitted

I played this right after posting my own game, I'm cooked D:

Developer

I tried yours, you have a pretty solid chance of getting at least top ten! But don't worry, I feel the same way about A TON of games too :P

Submitted

really really cool!

Developer

Thank you! You are bound to win tho with how many comments and stuff you have on your game lol. Good luck!!!
