Ever wondered how to play backgammon? It’s a game with a history spanning more than two thousand years. Check out the blog post I just published:

bgammon.org is a free and open source online backgammon service.
I’ve just published a blog post about the software powering bgammon.org and my experience creating it using free and open source tools:
Boxcars is the official client for playing backgammon via bgammon.org, a free and open source online backgammon service.
It is written in the Go programming language, and is powered by the Ebitengine game engine.
Desktop and mobile clients are also available: https://bgammon.org/download

Box Brawl is a new fighting game created in 30 days for the Fighting Jam game jam. It is written in the Go programming language, and is powered by the Ebitengine game engine. This game was a lot of fun to make, and learning how the mechanics of fighting games work was fascinating. It’s free and open source, so hack away!

Very well designed and fun game. I really enjoyed trying this out and lost count of which wave I managed to reach. I found a few bugs:
- When a building is destroyed, if you had it selected it remains selected and the panel stays open.
- Skipping to the start of the next round does not reward the money that would have been given while waiting (this may be intentional).
- Right clicking the screen spawns an enemy.
Very well done and polished game. Tower defense games are always fun, and this one is no exception. At first I thought I couldn’t build on the paths. Once I realized I could change the paths where creeps walk, the game took on a new dimension of strategy. The pathfinding for building things is a little broken, but that’s not much of an issue. It’s awesome to see that you were even able to include support for network play. Nice work!

Thanks! I agree with your points, especially the bullets being more developed. In my head, they were throwing spinning plastic bottles into the ocean. But as usual with game jams, I ran out of time when trying to implement this. :) I might update this game after the jam to make it more graphically detailed!
Pollution… Destruction… The fish have had enough! It’s payback time!
