Thanks for checking the game out! (awesome name btw!) By biggest do you mean the biggest size you can grow to? The only way to avoid the guard attacks at that size is to either have enough space to back up, or to shrink ;)

FAKE NEWS, impossible!

Hello fellow pirate gamer, thanks for playing! It's definitely intentional, I wanted the player to feel "oh I can do that?!" and it's the type of thing that scratches my brain right haha. Glad you enjoyed it!

(1 edit)

Nice effort to continue working on it! The icon on the top left with sword and bow just sends my crew to death? Maybe it's not meant to be part of the "controller" UI and I just sent them off board, but it seemed like a button to me. The center button with the sail (?) I'm also not sure whether I can do anything with or I'm not noticing it. And the red flag on top I'm guessing is just visual flair? tl;dr: I guess just showing some (more? again I might be dumb and missing them haha) indication of what buttons/areas are actually control inputs/interactables. The cannons are great cause you immediately see them at work for example

Love the art style! Game seems to have a lot of collision issues, I got stuck on random things and the capture AI/sequence doesn't seem to be working? Also, for note to others I couldn't get past the first obstacle after shrinking it. It's like the collision wall never despawned. But that only happened on Firefox, worked fine on Chrome.

Good job!

Lovee the art and art style! Have trouble with the speed of the game and the objectives though. The music has a nice city vibe that fits really well. Good job!

Gonna have to try a few more times to get the hang of it, but I really like the idea and aesthetics! The slightly crunchy post processing (?) is pretty. It's a little confusing what some of the icons are; actually more precisely maybe some more visual feedback on what's happening would help. But I also think that's part of the fun is the discovering. Great job!

Flaming turtles are OP! Actually all the flamethrowers were my goto solution haha. All of the sprites and animations were very cute. I really liked the scaling music track though the looping at least on my browser seems a bit clipped. Not sure whether I just ran into a bug, but it didn't seem like stuff was spawning in wave 5 with the dragons. Good work to the whole team!

Really enjoyed it, short and sweet. I missed the note about Shift so my first playthrough I was able to do it without haha. Love the aesthetic and how cohesive it all was for the reference you were going for :) Did you already have more ideas to implement that you didn't get to?

The sense of scaling was awesome! I like the clean art style and models. Got lost for a while in the beginning but once I figured it out I found myself wishing I was faster, even with the sprint I wished I went even faster. I could see the animation for scaling getting tedious for longer puzzles. Music fit the style and the whole premise has a really cool vibe. Good stuff!

Absolutely immaculate aesthetics from the art to the music! So cohesive even with the gameplay. I got to the second level and accidentally locked myself by launching my partner Flutter and could not restart as the restart button was not working for me. Maybe in a game jam context it'd be nice to have all levels accessible.

Great stuff really! Will come back to try again.

The tight platforming was very fun! I enjoyed the scaling on the go as a mechanic. Artstyle and post processing were nice. Only thing I didn't quite like was the typing sound effect, but at least that's skippable. Not sure if I did Sector 3-2 correctly; I was able to just stay small the entire time. Great job!

Thank you for taking the time to play and comment! I figured part of the fun was in mastering the controls which I struggled with initially. Was it the controls or figuring out what to do that was hard for you?

Thank you for checking the game out and the compliments on the media!! I added a gif screenshot to the game page as a hint for getting past the first part if you are curious

Thank you for playing and for the compliments! I wanted to do one more iteration on the art exactly with what you suggested, to make it more pirate ship-ey. Sorry for the controls accessibility, wish I could have added remappable controls in time. Thanks again :)

Thank you for playing! Apologies for the controls accessibility; I wanted to add remappable controls but did not get to it. Not sure how far you got but if Z was a concern you were probably done haha

Thank you for playing! The music was thrown in very last second, but I thought it was better than the silence before haha. Did you play with keyboard or a gamepad?

Really fun once I understood what was going on! Finished on a nice idea. I was stuck on the first averaging level for a while. It took me time to realize how to get green/success. Also this game might be making me realize I might be slightly colorblind between the green and yellow. The blue background might make that harder haha. Great job!

Great idea and really fun to play! So much polish, well done! Like @PowerManPM, I ended up tapping instead of sliding at some point for more control.

What would you like to have added or changed if you had more time?
