so yeah disqual
The staircase rooms were fine looking similar, as they had numbers to distinguish them, but I feel like the actual floors themselves need more variety, as they all use the same floor, walls, tables, etc. Maybe some floors being carpetted or having wood flooring instead of the tile would help, as well as having more debris and objects in the environment like water coolers or different desk variations. I also think there should be a way to regain sanity, as (as far as I was aware), you only lose it and if you don't know where youre going its very easy to waste sanity looking around empty areas
the artwork is literally the best ive ever seen (ignore that i made it lmao)
camera struggles to keep up with player when moving vertically, its easy to fall directly from one of the intended cliffs into a pit obstacle which you couldnt see, the hand obstacles dont appear to do anything and jumping feels like it slows down the pace of the game
The art and music is amazing, game is really creative!!! I like the idea of having to scavenge for a nightlight while trying to keep the monsters away, although if you center the flashlight on yourself you become immortal. There's also some collision issues with walking against obstacles (especially the bed in the beginning room). Overall I really really like it :) :)
I love the atmosphere, the explanation of the theme just being "horror" doesn't really make sense, but it follows the theme fairly well regardless. You can use the skyline to find the shapes of the candles without needing to hold out your lighter, and if you stand with your lighter the monster will walk right up to the candle and stand you down. I love the atmosphere, using the footsteps to locate the monster is great, I hope you work on this outside of the jam
character controls feels good, remote that you can pickup has no difference between the other remote that cant be picked up, which caused some confusion. Majority of lights just have switches, would like to see some more variety, but otherwise good!! Since the description says its to save on energy costs, I think replacing the timer with a counter of how much money on the electrical bill you've wasted could be a good way to better show the objective of the game. Otherwise, fun little entry!!
BWAH ITS REALLY GOOD I LOVE THE TRANSTITION BETWEEN LEVELS AND THE MUSIC LOOP!!! Wasn't able to rank it but I would've def ranked it 5 star for presentation if i could. Square sticks to walls, you can fix this by applying a physics layer to the walls and setting the friction to minimum mix. 3rd level confused me with the two keys but i was able to just jump over the bottom lock thingy so I assume I did it correctly? I think the key/lock might need more explanation. I hope you add to the game outside of the jam, it would make a really good sort of lo-fi style relaxing puzzle/platformer
Fun, browser embed was too small (as in the sniper and pistol were out of view on the selection screen). The assault rifle and smg should probably have auto-fire instead of me having to manually click for each shot, and I'm assuming theres an ammo counter as I have to wait for the gun to shoot after so many bullets, but if there is UI for it, it's out of view of the embed. Fun, but would like to see the embed fixed to show the rest of the screen
Very fun concept, amazing music loop, I liked being able to just walk through as your ghosts do all the work after enough deaths, but you can just dash past everything to skip all the enemies if you wanted. Maybe if each area was locked behind a door and you had to defeat every enemy? Maybe also you were limited to how many previous ghosts could be in an area so you couldn't just gaurantee a win by throwing yourself at it over and over? Very good idea, would love to see this worked on outside of the jam <3 (but no pressure of course)
very fun, i like how the enemies can damage eachother so you can trick crowds into killing themselves, the camera movement is a bit choppy but otherwise the game is quite good !!!! Would like to see more variety in playstyle while alive, maybe you'd be able to select upgrades on levelup? Very good !!
really nice platformer, controls are smooth, will say that the jump sound can get a bit annoying when you're scrambling up the side of a wall, and the mouse felt a bit too sensitive, but that could just be my fault. I like the idea of going ghost mode after a dash to utilize both abilities, overall solid game
