"Since you have enemies coming from the sides why not use those as arrows" - Yeah, I think this is the route that I WISH I had taken.  I'm glad someone called this out.  I started by prototyping the arrow movement and patterns and then added the monsters, but if I had a little more time to design the game, I would have went this route and had the monsters be the actual arrows.  And, yeah, the lack of beat matching is a drawback too.  Anyway, I really appreciate that you took the time to write up this great feedback!

Thanks, mate! I appreciate it!

Thanks for playing!

Agreed.  I didn't have time to try to match the actual beat of the song.  Maybe I'll make a simpler rhythm game that does that.  Thanks for playing!

Thanks for this really thorough and thoughtful reply!  I think your feedback is terrific, and I'm adding it to my notes for the next update to the game.  I really appreciate you taking the time to type this all up.  This post made my day!  Happy Halloween!

Thanks for playing!

Also that dialog box during the tutorial is so great!  I love how it moves and the text pops out of the border!

I got it to work!  Somehow I was short-circuiting out of the tutorial and the game was getting stuck.  Worked better in fullscreen mode!  Very cool game!  I just LOVE the overall aesthetic!

I struggled to the keyboard input to work, but I want to play this so bad!  The art is awesome!  I felt like I went back in time and am playing on a computer in my den in 1988!!

I think this is a great start!  I like the player and ghost sprites a lot!  Could use some sound effects, but it's hard to get to everything in a week!  Nice work on this one!

Pretty darn fun!  Great spooky vibe!  Love the setup and gameplay!

Nice little match 3!  Catchy music and I always enjoy playing these sorts of casual games!

Cool video!  That's so awesome that you are taking the time to play and share these jam games on YouTube!  Happy Halloween!

My girlfriend said the same!  She wanted to look at the dance moves instead of playing! 🤣

Thanks for playing and posting!  I appreciate it!

Thanks for playing!  If I had a little more time, I would have made a tutorial.  I'll do that when I make the first update!  Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks for giving it a spin!  I appreciate it!

Thanks, mate!

Oh, I'm sorry!  My bad.  Thanks for taking the time to play and comment!  I appreciate it!  Happy Halloween!

Got it!  I'm going to fix that in the next build.  Thanks for taking the time to report it!  Happy Halloween!

Ah!  I'm going to play again and get the key and see what happens next!  Thanks for the tip!

Oh man, I totally hear you on version control!  Sometimes just getting the basics out of the way can be so challenging!  I'm glad the too of you stuck with it and completed a game for the jam!  Great work!

I really like the color palette - it's bold for Halloween, but it works so well!  Lots of fun puzzles to work with here too!  Nice work!!

Sweeeet!  Really enjoyed this one.  From the visuals to the voice over, this one really captured the mood!  Great work and Happy Halloween!!!

Really really cool game!  Reminds me of VVVVVV, an all-time indie classic.  Also great work work on the music and juiciness!  Everything felt super fun and polished.  Definitely coming back to play this more!

So true!  I was in that same boat trying to do my game solo!  One week goes so fast when you're by yourself and trying to balance a job and life!!! 🤣🤣

Many thanks for the kind words!

Thanks for playing!  What sort of glitch did you see?  Do you mean where the text starts on one line and then wraps to the next?

Silly question, but what do you mean by "sticky"?  I'm hoping to do an update post-jam to fix bugs.  Any feedback is appreciated!

Could be the WebGL build.  Seems to lag on some systems.  The downloadable might be better.

Good premise! I struggled a little with the lighting, but I know that was intentional to create the claustrophobic, spooky vibe!  Well done!

I like the lighting and vibe.  Wasn't crazy about the quiz questions, but that's probably my own hang-up of dreading tests! :)  Good execution overall!!

Nice vibe, very ethereal.  I think this is going in a good direction.  Nice work!

Took me right back to the NES days!  Really like the style here and you implemented this very well in one week!  I'm going to have to check out some of your other games too!

Love the main character art.  And it feels like a spin on Pac-man.  I struggled with the controls though.  Maybe WASD/arrow keys would work well?

This is a fun little NES-style top down horror adventure game.  I would tone down the walking sounds, but I think this is a nice game!

I like the art and visual style.  I'm a little confused by the fire ball mechanic and what I should do as I walk around, but I think there is a start of a fun game here!

Solid little platformer here.  I dig the music and enjoyed playing it!

Oh and feel free to reach out of you're looking for a jam partner in the future and need a programmer!

Great feedback!  I only tested the WebGL build on my computer so it likely has some issues on other systems or browsers.  I'll try to tighten up the controls in a future build too.  Thanks for taking the time to play!!!
