I really liked the main character, he looked really nice! The ghosts where neat as well! I think there's an interesting concept of having to find the exit while hiding from ghosts but I had a hard time knowing where to go, it felt like I was aimlessly walking around. I think with more puzzles and more indications as to what to do this would've been better, but nice entry nonetheless!

Developer

thanks for playing, and yeah I do agree that something to guide the player would be nice as I got lost sometimes too while walking around

love the ghosts, don't need boxes to hide though, e works anywhere, which is fine with me. :)

Developer

does it? HAHA didn't notice that bug while testing, Thanks for playing :)

Nice mechanics with hiding and teleporting. I liked that the ghosts are faster than me. Good music. Maybe you could choose a bit more coherent assets next time. Also, I wasn't respawned after a few attempts. Nice entry overall, gg.

Developer

thankyou for the feedback, I get that the assets didn't mix well with each other, since I'm not an artist I had to get them of the internet so they weren't the same style, and I completely missed that bug, I'll fix it as soon as possible :)

I think this is a great start!  I like the player and ghost sprites a lot!  Could use some sound effects, but it's hard to get to everything in a week!  Nice work on this one!

Developer

Thank you so much :), if you're interested in the art I took it from the pixel adventure pack which you can find on the itch.io page :)

I hope you can expand a little bit further on the idea. I like the visuals and am eager to see what will be added next.

Developer

Thankyou so much for playing! I'm really happy you liked the idea

Game feels as not a game but as test build for educational purposes. I don't want to offend or anythin I'm just saying so sorry if i'm too harsh

Developer

I appreciate you playing but like I said I didn't get to work on it full-time for the last 7 days, so I get that it's not great, and don't expect much since this is a game jam

Music and art is nice, but I think that it doesn't really fit together with each other all that great. I think that the camera could be zoomed out a bit. It's very close and its hard to see where I'm going or what's coming, and I think that it should a bit more clear to where you need to go

HI, thanks for playing, in terms of the camera the idea behind leaving it zoomed in is that you can use the zoom-out feature, this was inspired by the mobile game Robbery Bob where you can hide in certain locations and zoom the camera out, but I should have made that more clear in the tutorial, and I actually have 0 artistic talent so I just got a ton of assets online, which is why it looks like 5 artists painted on the same canvas, but besides that thanks for playing

Here's are some suggestions to improve your game:

-Zoom the camera out so that the player can see their surroundings. I kept on running into spikes because I was not aware where I was going.

-Make the ghosts slower.

-This one's optional, but you can have a health system so that the player can take some hits before they respawn to the last checkpoint. I tried to fit through the spikes in one of the maze sections, but I kept on dying at that part. It didn't help that the ghosts were chasing me.

Thanks for playing  I really appreciate the feedback but for the level you were stuck on that was actually intentional, the game is a "puzzle-exploration" game so you actually had to find a different way out, you were not supposed to fit through the spikes, if you go above and then head to the bottom left corner of the map you would actually see a portal that allows you to get to the door, and regarding the camera it was actually supposed to be left zoomed in because you can use the zoom out feature, but I should have made this more clear in the tutorial, but anyways thanks for playing!

Wasn't really sure how to play. Tried with a controller but interact didn't really work. Cool music though.

you move with WSAD, and the rest of the instructions were on the main page
