I found this after finishing "A Date with Death" and looking for similar games - I gotta say it kept me well entertained for four days (yeah, one route a day). The whole cast is just so nice, I actually caught myself thinking about that cozy server during my days, would be great to have something similar irl haha. And VAs did a great job as well

Quest and xyx are my favs, although I have to say that I'd pay for OnionThief's route, he's such a husbando material for me.

Great Spooktober entry! I really enjoyed the characters, art, music and story ♥

I'm SO glad you're accepting donations, because I'd feel bad with only leaving 5 stars and telling all my friends about your games.

Skills, passion... Enviable. Amazing work.

Nice game! I dig the aesthetic. Although it's not the same genre, it gives me The Shrouded Isle vibes.

There are 2 things that I'd personally like to see - some small UX improvements:
- Visual indicator of stat being close to its max level (for example red color for stat which value is over 90),
- Result text after each turn could be more distinguished from other text - now it kind of breaks the immerse for me. Ideally, I'd like to keep the right sidebar story-only and left sidebar stats-only. As this can be tricky to do, a different background or text color for Results would help, too.

Anyway, good luck!

I like the idea and see so much potential in this one, like adding some things inside the safe packages (instead of nothing), making bombs harder to spot.

Very nice entry, good job! :D

I really like the concept. Great work!

Very fun, and that fast music really adds to it! My best score was 104 :)

So simple, but cool and definitely addictive. My best score was 16.86 :D

Very pretty and satisfying to play :)

Reminds me of... Helltaker :D Puzzle levels first, then suddenly BOOM!
Very good job, I love it!

Thank you! Actually it's not a shader, it's sprite mask ;)

Thanks for the feedback!

Song in the background is Awakening by Wataboi (info added in the description).

That game is polished to perfection. It has very deep lore, graphics are constantly updating when you progress treating you with sweet-sweet eye-candy rewards. Artstyle is pleasant, music is awesome, even SFX. This should be on Steam earning money! <3

Thank you so much for taking part in CrapJam! I hope you had as much fun as we.

I'd like to officially announce the winner - HAndLol, congratulations!

What is great about this jam is that all the "losers" can be happy too, because their game was actually... better.

I'd definitely host CrapJams regularly, probably once every two months, so the next one would be around 14-15.03. Mark your calendars <3 I saw few flaws in the rating system and I'll improve it. The "misunderstanding of the theme" was problematic to rate and would be modificated for sure, but I don't know how yet. "Unplayability" will be probably merged with "overall" score and new category regarding controls/mechanic will be added. I'm also thinking about making this jam a little bit longer - maybe 3 full days instead of 2 for all the latecomers.

If you have any suggestion for improvement please share it!

Unclarity of rules: Oh my... I wouldn't know what I was doing until @ProstoLyubo had told me... That intro was just sooo confusing for me. Very good job.

Visual ugliness: Paint-y bad, irritating colors, weird text placement. Classy, I'd say.

Audio mismatch: That computer-generated voice was gem. Others made me cringe and were "handmade" I guess, I appreciate it.

Unplayability:  Okay so at first it was so difficult I thought it just cannot be beaten. Come on the boss with 6 health, those FREAKING ARROWS... It was hard. Especially with those crappy controls. We tried with @Prostolyubo once. We gave up, closed that game. We tried second time. Again - was it supposed to be unbeatable? We gave up again. But that game just couldn't leave our thoughts. We HAD to beat it. It was our duty as a hosts of this CrapJam. And we did it. It was surprisingly exciting and 100% not worth it.

Proof:

Misinterpretation of the topic: I like your... approach to the topic. Fun and just kinda right.

Overall irritation/disappointment/cringe:  Frustrating difficulty, especially those arrows. Game with fat mom is cringy even without playing it.

I hope you had fun and will join future CrapJams as well <3

Unclarity of rules: Intuitive keys and compass indicating where to go, sooo I would say that the rules were pretty clear!

Visual ugliness: Graphic was, well, simple, but I wouldn't say it was ugly or anything like that. Just more retro.

Audio mismatch: That kind of simple sounds were always pretty irritating for me. But not that much.

Unplayability: That text while touching obstacles.... Brilliant!!! So frustrating, so crappy. Great idea, definitely my favourite part of this game. Other than that - it wasn't very unplayable.

Misinterpretation of the topic: Hmm, I'm having a hard time rating this one. I feel like it stick with theme quite well, maybe not with the "ancient" part.

Overall irritation/disappointment/cringe: Blue screen... Very, very disappointing... :< I would love to play a longer version, it was too short to show all the crappiness!

I hope you had fun and will join future CrapJams as well <3

Unclarity of rules: It was a simple interactive novel so there wasn't much to figure... Except of that controls I didn't see because of their color.

Visual ugliness: Oh my gosh, my eyes. They literally hurt while playing. Also the arrows color was not visible on my screen, but was visible on the other one, very nice. Bonus points for that ugly game page.

Audio mismatch: "Sound effect" was great, too bad that you didn't add some sort of background music as well.

Unplayability:  Game was so bad it was good, I had a good laugh especially while reading that commented sections. I don't know if the java bug (while clicking "pull out") was intentional (tried on few browsers, still there), if no I NEED TO KNOW WHAT WAS THERE >:c If yes - that's good because of the ruined ending.

Misinterpretation of the topic: I think that game kinda fit into theme?

Overall irritation/disappointment/cringe:  Overall - very crappy, well done! Not frustrating to play, but crappy anyway.

I hope you had fun and will join future CrapJams as well <3

Hello everyone and thank you for the participation!

We appreciate that you decided to waste this weekend with us while making something completely crappy.

Some may say that making bad game is useless, why would you want to do that? Well, I say:
- you need to know what is really good to make something really bad,
- to increase creativity, get a fresh look at game design,
- famous "so bad, it’s good" exists for a reason,
- for fuuun!

Having all that irrelevant things said, let me present the topic for the very first Crap Jam!

"The Ancient Prophecy"

Have fun, I'm looking forward your creations!

P.S. If you'll include your twitter/instagram username in game description, I'll mention it on my social media while making #CrapJam summary!
