Thank you! We're glad you enjoyed it. :)

Howdy!

We are @DandyMcStebb and @Candleh3arts.  McStebb speaking.

We decided to combine my programming hobby with my partner's art skills to create a fledgling game studio. We completed a couple of game jams and have some bigger projects in the works. Candle has a soft spot for retro horror, so I can imagine a few of our projects will be themed around that. We look forward to our future as game developers!

This is fun! Thanks for making this!

Linux is listed as a compatible platform. How can I get the linux version? Thanks

I really liked this!  The interactivity of maintaining the drill was really satisfying and added a lot of urgency to the game.

A couple of times I tried to do preventative maintenance, such as when the battery died I would try to refill the fluid levels, but noticed that they were only "Full" or "Empty".

This was a clever design choice to prevent me from working ahead and defeating the game's primary urgency mechanic, so well done there haha.

Overall I really enjoyed this.  Very atmospheric and the chunky feel of the drill made it satisfying to interact with.

(Spoilers!)

Also, the creature at the end was friend-shaped.

The art is great.  I think the levels could be a little shorter and faster paced to match the mood.

Interesting and kind of funny.  Had a good time.

There was actually a plan involved to draw a bobber at the water line, but I couldn't figure out the complicated math involved in making sure it was always in the right place relative to where the fishing line (which is a purely graphical thing and has no physics) meets the water.

I'll probably try to include it in a future patch.

Thanks for the feedback!

Good variety and retro feel!  I would like to see a wario-ware -esque version of this where all the games last 10 seconds lol

Nice relaxing music, and I liked how more of the map was revealed as I explored.

Wasn't sure how to equip the knife.

^v^ McStebb

Eerie vibe, I wasn't expecting to see something resembling a horror game for this jam.  But you pulled it off!

^v^ McStebb

Neat little game that reminds me of Frogger.

^v^ McStebb

I was hoping for a frog golf game!  We were thinking of making one and settled on fishing instead.

I liked this a lot, especially all of the different sprites for the frog; they made him feel squishy and weighted just like a frog would.

Nice job!

^v^ McStebb

These are great suggestions.  If I polish this out and extend it to a complete game, I'll take all of this in mind.

Thanks for giving it another try :)

Thank you!  The sunset transition is something my artist and I are both very proud of.

You can also use <R> to reel your line, so I encourage you to give it another go if you'd like.

I didn't anticipate the screen scrolling when I implemented that feature.  That was kind of silly of me.  :P

Another fishing game, nice!  This was fun!  I kept trying to catch the axolotl lol

A fishing license as a unique way to make use of the limitation.  Good thinking!

^v^ McStebb

Great!  It was interesting keeping track of which frog was next so I could plan the best route to avoid bees and eat as many flies as possible.

^v^ McStebb

Nice game!  A simple change that could make this game much easier & more enjoyable would be to allow the player to strafe in the air.  I could jump and then adjust to land where I need to.  Trying to line up running-jumps from the ground is pretty challenging.

If you like it the way it is, maybe consider adding a lower difficulty level?  Just a thought!

Well executed concept nonetheless!

Unfortunately the game doesn't display properly on ultrawide monitors, and I can't seem to resize the window or make it smaller.  But I did get some hilarious physics happening which sent me flying through the walls, so I enjoyed that part.

^v^ McStebb

I came here to give this one a try because of how similar it is to our submission, but I didn't expect to be subject to a beautiful bit of prose about making one's own path.  Thank you for this.

^v^ McStebb

Fun game!  I found the tongue to be hard to control, but otherwise enjoyed this a lot.

^v^ McStebb

Great!  This is very polished.

Wizard is OP and I used him every time there were more than 4 cards on the opponent's side lol

^v^ McStebb

Funny!  The music was amusing too, it matched the theme

^v^ McStebb

You put a lot of thought into the visual elements of this game.  I especially liked the lillypads that doubled as countdown timers, that was a nice touch!

^v^ McStebb

Thanks for playing!      I got the idea from that old Frogger 3D game where you would use your tongue to catch bugs, and they would give you stats based on their color haha.  My artist was just happy to draw a bunch of bugs and fish.

^v^ McStebb

That's okay!    You're encouraged to take the entire day to experiment with different baits&fish to see what works, so continue fishing even if you catch all three from the list.

Granny will give you hints occasionally.

It's definitely not your fault - The game is a bit difficult at first.

Thanks for playing!

^v^ McStebb

Oh... I didn't think about that.  :S

This is a hilarious & well realized concept.  I greatly enjoyed panic-selling and panic-buying my Fronks.

You're encouraged to use the whole day to experiment with bait & fish combinations, even if you catch all 3 early.

Also;  keep an eye out for Granny to give you hints!  She'll give you 2-3 hints a day, usually.

I will concede that hooking the fish is kind of inconsistent and hard to feel out, so if I continue to support this game I'll probably tweak the minimum hook distance.

Thanks for your input!

As in it broke up the momentum of the gameplay because I would have to stop & wait for my jump to charge to progress.  A double jump would allow for more fluid movement through the level.

BUT: I also observed that it helped enforce the objective, because it would eat up your time and add urgency to you hunting for life-giving flies.  So all-in-all, it's probably a good addition.

Very unique use of the limitation!  It felt like the charged jump meter slowed you down a bit too much, but maybe that's the point - to eat up more of your time and make sure you have to find more bugs.
Good job!

^v^ McStebb

The movement is hilarious 10/10

^v^ McStebb

For some reason I get LSD Dream Simulator vibes from this, especially in how you touch objects to be transported to different levels.

I enjoyed it!

^v^ McStebb

Very cozy retro handheld feel to this.  Gameplay reminds me of Frogger.

^v^ McStebb

The art is fantastic and the "boing" sound effect is fun to spam.
I didn't understand how to use the tongue grapple mechanic, it seemed like it should be omni-directional but it only works in the cardinal directions.  Maybe it would be better on a pad, I was playing with M+KB

Movement mechanic was pretty hard to figure out, but I managed it in the end.  Stand by for Titanfall Frogs!

Hey there.   Found  a  non game-breaking  bug  after  you reach day 5.  The "continue" message displays twice, but it should say "press Q to return to the menu".

So keep in mind that after day 5, you can keep playing endless mode or press Q to start over after each day.

Thanks!
