Fun game and nice graphics :)

Submitted

The is a really nice platformer with cute graphics! being able to control the jump height is a nice touch of diffculty, though it does solw the gameplay down a bit.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!

Yes, indeed, probably not the best mechanics for playing with a timer.

Submitted

This was fun and the graphics were really nice!  Liked the use of time in this too! Awesome work on this!! :D

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Glad you liked it!

This is actually pretty cool! Very well done visually as well! One thing I'd improve is Frog's hitbox, I do feel it is a bit too large while jumping, I often got stuck when I was trying to make a jump between two platforms for example. I'd also add some visual indication of how far I've come. It could be just a simple meter counter, yet it would add so much in my opinion. Great stuff overall!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!

Really good ideas!

Was satisfying to play and visually it looked great. I definitely had a few very close tense moments trying to get the bug before time runs out. Well Done!!!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!

You gave me the idea that you can give the player a chance to eat a fly after the timer expires. I think this should improve the feel of the game, thanks.

Submitted(+1)

Yess I think that would be great. I actually had one run end just as I was about to grab a bug so it could definitely create some real clutch moments.

Nice platformer, a lot of details for a weekend jam. I specially liked the jump, in fact I almost did a game just with that mechanic. I would add more sounds or feedback (dust, trails, etc…) but otherwise is a solid entry.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!

Yes, I also wanted to add dusty tracks from jumps and so on, but when I opened the manual I realized that it would take at least half an evening to study all this 😅

Submitted

Was such a relaxing game! Everything felt super polished for being in a game jam!

Well done!

Developer

Thanks, glad to hear it😁

Really cool way to make a frog platformer. Had such a cool mechanic.

It took me a bit to realize the game was infinite, would have been cool to see levels, but jam time be tight.

very pleasant music too!

I did have a good few runs die to being stuck over spikes. Maybe would be good if the spikes teleported you back to the last ground you stood on.

fantastic work overall tho!

Developer

Thanks!

I think I guess where you been stuck. I wanted to add a place something like "you have no right to make a mistake", but probably this should have been implemented by a separate mechanic.

Submitted

Pretty fun. The best ive gotten was a score of 282. I did find a visual bug : hold space and fall down without letting go of space and the charging bar will stay at the last height the frog was. Other than that great job !

Developer

Thanks for the feedback and bug report!

It seems I forgot to add that the charging panel would disappear and be reset when the frog starts to fall.

I'll fix it soon.

Really fun game and I like the jump mechanic! It has a good level of difficulty to keep it challenging and replayable. The graphics are very polished and the sound and music bring it together nicely. I'd maybe put the 'eat' key to use mouse click instead to make it easier while also pressing a/d. Other than that, zero complaints, really impressive game & very well implemented!!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!

Yes, the idea with the location of the buttons turned out to be a little unsuccessful. I'm thinking of changing the attack button to shift.

Very cool, the jump bar detail makes the game different and more challenging, good idea and great work. congratulations on the game 😋

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Glad you liked the game.

I found the gameplay to be simple yet enjoyable. I like the idea of reducing the player's overall time limit when getting injured...definitely a nice twist instead of a health bar. I didn't encounter many bugs other than the jump meter being left on after taking a hit (which resolved after jumping again). Overall nice work!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback and bug report!

I'll try to fix this tomorrow.

Developer(+1)

It seems the bug has been fixed, thanks again for letting me know.

It's nice and cute game to play! The art was very pretty, along with the the nice music, creating a warm and comforting atmosphere. Catching the flies was a satisfying experience, pushing me to try to beat the clock in order to catch more of them. The control of the jump power was a great idea, as I had to assess how strong the jump should be; too little and I'll have to do it over, while too big means I may lose time from the slowness. Overall a pretty  good game!

awesome game excpecially cuz u made it all by yourself! that's fantastic very good job dude. amazing music, art and concept. great game, again

Developer

thanks for the feedback!

For the most part, I only made the code myself, a couple of sounds and a few sprites, the rest is taken from the assets that are indicated in the description.

Submitted(+1)

i saw u took things from the asset store but it's not a problem as u credited ppl and the game was fun; that's what's really just needed!

Submitted

The spikes were a bit hard to see but otherwise really nice game!

Developer

I repainted spike sprite so it might be more visible now.

The textures were really great and I enjoyed the relaxing music. A very nice chill game!

The presentation here was great! The little timer that pops out and rotates from the frog as time is running low is a great touch.

Submitted

I really like this concept, I've seen some entries that use the limitation in roughly the same way i.e. to time the jump right, but I think this one has far better controls than the others. Well done!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!

Glad to hear that😁

Submitted

Very unique use of the limitation!  It felt like the charged jump meter slowed you down a bit too much, but maybe that's the point - to eat up more of your time and make sure you have to find more bugs.
Good job!

I don't understand much about slowdown. Does it seem to slow down while preparing to jump, or is the jump speed not fast enough?

Submitted

As in it broke up the momentum of the gameplay because I would have to stop & wait for my jump to charge to progress.  A double jump would allow for more fluid movement through the level.

BUT: I also observed that it helped enforce the objective, because it would eat up your time and add urgency to you hunting for life-giving flies.  So all-in-all, it's probably a good addition.

Developer(+1)

Understood, thank you

I didn't even think about double jumps😅

But yes, you are right, I wanted the high jump to take more time and make you choose priorities.

This game was really fun! I sometimes had trouble distinguishing the background and the thorny bushes because they were a similar tinge of green. I liked the fact that you married time with collectibles here! Great work!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback!

Yes, the thorns don't look good and blend into the background because I drew them myself😅 I'm not very good at picking colors

Developer(+1)

I repainted spike sprite so it might be more visible now.
