I went full x25 the whole time. And I think it breaks the game XD the score goes unreadable, the music starts to lag, and most importantly, your bullets don't hit people if they are not spaced properly. I don't know why that is, but it looks like they are blinking instead of sliding across the screen. So if the enemy happens to be inbetween the blinks (and they go real fast on 25) then they wont kill the enemy. Was fun, well done.
It wasn't too deep on features, this was my first game I made and I just started programming =P I had 6 different things, the homing ones, the spiral, and then 4 wall ones that came from each direction. After that, they just get faster. Yeah walls are dangerous haha. I'm not sure how I'd work out that outside the boarder spawn, since technically, they all spawn outside the board (besides the spiral). Maybe a blink when something is coming from that wall? Like a little color bar, single pixel long or something?
Amazing! Just. Amazing. You all killed it. Beautiful music. Art. And the gameplay was stellllllaaar. I didn't realize how to throw knifes until I beat the game xD MORE ENEMYS MORE MAPS MORE LEVELS PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAASE =) When a lot is happening, even though its a turn base, you can move so fast and it feels incredibly smooth. Well done. Super bon.
Lots of comments already mention the circle around the wall strat to just perma dodge all enemy shots---so I have a different thing: the difficulty increase. From a shotgun, three shot, lots of bullets to the single shot thing. I think better to make the enemy just have more life, and let you shoot a lot then one bullet. That's just me. I like to spray, it feels more fun than sniping in a bullet hell. So the outcome should be the same with the enemies just having more life, but we get to feeeeeeeeeeel like we are doing more than just missing our once every three second single shot sniper. Good job and keep up the good work =)
like the mood, the music is great for it. The gameplay was not my style. The overheat going up so quickly made it frustrating. Since I am forced to just sit still while I wait for it to go down again. I think the overheat mechanic is a good idea, but maybe not so quickly or so early for a weak gun. Or maybe I was just missing something in the game. Keep up the good work.
this is a great idea, the space to move works really well with the typing portion. I however could not read the letters well at all. The font color, the size, and speed, the way it spun as it got faster all very difficult to see. l's js and all those ; just was hard to work around. Did you try using words instead of random letters? Just curious if you had any reasoning behind for the game mechanic side of it. I could see if you didn't want to make sight read, to typing. But I think it could have been more fun if it was recognizable words. Good submission, great idea, and keep it up.
(ADDED FROM PAGE COMMENT) took me a second to get the controls down---at first I felt very drunk XD. They get a little clunky whenever your mouse gets close to it. PRO TIP for anyone who is playing it, keep your mouse as far as you can from your character. Only use your A and D keys to strafe, and it works really well. Good job, and good luck in your game dev journey, this is a great start =)
