What an interesting take on consequences. Oddly enough, it reminded me of another game which throws it in your face that you've killed a person and that they were a person; The Punisher game!
Wait a minute… are we the bad guy ? :O
Joke aside the game was pretty fun to play and feels very polished already. I really enjoyed the clean vector artstyle and the sea creature - inspired enemies are very darius like so that’s a very cool detail.
Didn’t have any particular issue with that one, well done :)
Thanks!
I love the art of this! I don't often see games with a vectorized style and it's done so well in this game, plus the designs are pretty creative
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it
So every kill of enemy, there's a display of their name a occupation? How did you do that without AI? Did you pregenerate a long list of names/occupation combinations? That's very interesting and makes me think that all the enemies have their lives...and killed by us.
Very fantastic arts and music combination. The feeling is very consistent and speed of the flight is great. The design of those health/bullets are really game saver and give player very strong feedback when they are at risk of lose all lives.
All in all, I like the feeling of the game a lot! Very nice work!
Thanks!
I actually did write up three 100 entry arrays, one for a name, one for an occupation and one for a descriptor. After that. It's just calling a function that grabs random indexes from each and prints a string. 😁
Fantastic art and the power-ups are cool but it was a bit too tough for me, a lot of the time it felt like there wasn't any way to avoid taking a few hits.
Capitan skuuuullface! Great game, with good visuals and music i really like it. :D
Thanks!
killed it! Well done =) Enjoyed the play, hate power downs with every fiber of my being XD I see something on screen, I collect hahaha. Rest in Piece Gianna the occupational therapist. Gina? I don't know, I lost so many people haha
Thanks ! I'm glad you had fun ☺️
this game is so epic! I enjoyed it, I had so much fun, the visuals are awesome and consistent the audio is perfect the enemies and their attacks are challenging i loved it. keep going mate!
Thanks!
One of the best entries I've seen so far, I think I wiped out the entire profession of occupational therapist xD
They will recover. It just take years of intense training.
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)
Pretty smooth gameplay and you seem to be very generous with the health and damage which is a plus at keeping me in the game ;)
Glad you enjoyed it :)
Small screenshot thumbnails made me raise the eyebrow, but the actual sprites and the flow of the game is amazing! I think that this is a hell of an entry
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it 😊
This was awesome!!!! The moment I saw the first "Jeff the hopeful was an aspiring mechanical engineer..." type of quote I cracked into a smile. I kept my eyes glued there as I continued to kill more enemies and...well, this isn't making me sound too good, is it?! But the point is, I love what you did with the theme, it was a lot of fun, and the ending made me feel consequences for having had so much fun. Kudos! Oh, and I like the gameplay design you went for - the character's hurtbox is too big to really dodge everything, so it became a test of choosing where you get hit and tiding over until the next health drop. This made both the bullet up and health powerups feel really significant. The art was fantastic too! Overall great entry, good work!
Thanks so much! You've made my day 😁
"knox the willful was just a jerk" had me in stitches. Great job!
Thanks!
I like visuals and audio. It is fun to play.
I think you should use WASD for movement.
Thanks!
To be honest, I usually set up for both arrows and wasd, but this time around it kind of got away from me and I just plain forgot :P
Overall the game looks good, audio is nice and it's quite fun. I do have some suggestions:
- My main keyboard doesn't have arrows keys, so WASD movement would be nice.
- Maybe tweak the movement a bit or projectile count because it is hard to navigate around without getting hit.
