The graphics are really pretty handdrawn. Movement is nice and smooth but some bullets hang in the air after dying. Gave you a nice rating! If you like to check out our game too! :)

Overall: ✨ This game felt great overall. Loved the art style and VFX. Great game and submission!

Fun: 🎉 The boss was really neat—it reminded me of Terraria bosses, which I had a ton of fun with. The game was engaging and enjoyable.

Visual: 🎨 The visuals and VFX were impressive. The UI was nice and fit the game art style well.

Audio: 🎶 The audio was mysterious and well-suited for the setting.

Theme: 📚 If the theme revolved around the weapon overheating, it could use a bit of tweaking. The mechanic was a bit annoying as I had to stop and wait for the gun to reset. Increasing the reset speed would make it more fun.

Other feedback: The game was very polished. The only issue was the weapon overheating mechanic, which could be improved for a smoother experience.

So, I understood everything correctly :) Very cool idea. And it can be greatly expanded: the enemy respawns with the weapon you had, shoots with the same accuracy... It seems like this could turn into something very meme-worthy in the future.

I feel like you had something going, but the overheat mechanic kinda slowed everything down. It felt like such a tease to give me a dang minigun like that, only to constrain me from using it!

I managed to beat the boss: I like the art style of this game, pretty good enemies and music is fine too. The biggest problem for me was the heating mechanic, it really slows down all the gameplay to a boring cycle: shoot a few bullets and take a sip of coffee until you can shoot another few. Besides this, I appreciate it, good job!

like the mood, the music is great for it.  The gameplay was not my style.  The overheat going up so quickly made it frustrating.  Since I am forced to just sit still while I wait for it to go down again.  I think the overheat mechanic is a good idea, but maybe not so quickly or so early for a weak gun.  Or maybe I was just missing something in the game.  Keep up the good work.

I saw the enemies drop power up when defeated then I was hit with game over screen when collecting it.  Then again, that "power up" looks awfully similar with the enemies' bullet. 

Anyway, I like shooting in this game. The gun feels powerful. Still, I would prefer if the gun doesn't overheat that fast.

 I also saw the gun heat reflected on the enemies' bullet. That's a neat detail.

I  kinda expected DOOM-like atmosphere since the protagonist has the "too angry to die" face.

HAHA, it’s a small bug with object pooling, instead of fixing that I thought why should make it as feature like a consequence of killing XD

Pros:

  • The art style was nice and well executed. It felt totally fine with the combo of classical statues with "Cyanide and happiness" characters.
  • Both the overall feeling of shooting, as well as the overheating of the gun felt very satisfying
  • The bullet patterns looks really nice and area reasonable to dodge

Comments:

  • The fact that all enemeies are static makes the game a bit to easy at times
  • it is hard to determine how much damage an enemy takes (especially the boss)

Love the style. Gun overheating is a great idea, and really pretty visual. I'd suggest to restoring it quicker. Some kind of a death effect would be great too. But overall i think it's an amazing entry!

Thanks for the feedback! I spent most of my time with the boss and its attack variation and its boss phase, haven’t got too much time for polish stuffs haha

Fighting my ghost was really fun and the boss' bullet patterns are fun and simple too. Great artwork. The UI fails in most submissions but in your game it fits perfectly. Only thing it's missing is a bit of enemy variety

Thanks for the feedback!! I originally thought of 3 enemies + 1 boss but creating one enemy and boss already had taken a couple of days so I focused on completing the game! BTW don’t appreciate me for artwork it is all thanks to Itzy Bitzy Artsy!
