give feedback --> get feedback

Welcome!

This is a never-ending feedback chain. It works like this:

You give feedback to the previous post (50+ words maybe?). And at the end of your feedback you put a link to your project and say what you want feedback on. So then the next person who wants feedback gives you feedback and posts his project. And so on, and so on...

Rules:

  • Before giving feedback to the previous post, it's a good ideato first post "feedback in progress", and edit that post with your feedback and your request later on.  This will make sure that only 1 person is giving feedback at the same time. Dont take longer than 2 hours after writing "feedback in progress" to finish your "link in the chain".
  • Only computer games.  No 18+ content. Must run on a Windows PC without install. (unpack ZIP is okay)

Let me know if you have any ideas for improvement!

Alright, lets get going!:

FEEDBACK:

-none- (1st post, some effort went into it.)

REQUEST:

Fall Ball by woodsmoke (itch.io)

  • It's supposed to be a quick and hard game, but is the gameplay too frustrating?
  • Do you like the gameboy color palette or should I go for sth more colorful?
  • Any ideas to make it more "juicy"? Or any other thoughts?

FEEDBACK:

  • It's supposed to be a quick and hard game, but is the gameplay too frustrating?

It is frustrating cause you have to click rapidly to position the light in correct position. I prefer simple control: click on desired light to turn it on.

  • Do you like the gameboy color palette or should I go for sth more colorful?

I could care less. As long I can distinguish objects, I can accept it.

  • Any ideas to make it more "juicy"? Or any other thoughts?

Add SFX when ball scores and when ball fails.

REQUEST:

Robz Rush

It's a boss rush game so expect challenging boss fights when playing it.

  • I wanted to give challenge by making upgrade for shots expensive but do you think those upgrade costs should be lesser?
  • Can you predict bosses' attack without any visual clue/hint?
  • Do you like the random boss system or prefer selectable boss system (with menu or something)?
  • Any other feedbacks?

FEEDBACK

I did not manage to REALLY get into the game for several reasons:

  1. the splash screen is way too long.
  2. I did not manage to figure out, let alone master, the controls. "press jump to jump" is not a good tutorial, since I there is no jump key on the keyboard.
  3. I didn't understand how I can attack the first boss because it was too high for my reach

I will end by saying that if you have enough passion and put in enough effort, this game has great potential!

REQUEST

It was hard for me to pick just one… out of all of my games, I picked this one:

Bunny's mushroom hunt: https://ozaki-studio.itch.io/bunny-mushroom-hunt

  • What do you think about the graphics?
  • Is this game too easy?
  • Is it juicy enough?
  • generally, what could I do to improve it?

anyway, if you like it, please rate it.

I've never given or received actual feedback on itch, so this should be fun :)

FEEDBACK (I'm hoppy to help! (that one wasn't very bunny... (okay i'll stop)))

Overall: Fun little game that has lots of potential!

  • What do you think about the graphics?

- They're simplistic and cute enough for the aesthetic, and they get the point across. Don't really have a problem with them.

  • Is this game too easy?

- Eeeeh... I'd say it's easy enough for a pick-up-and-play, especially when you get a hang of the controls. I'd only expand on the difficulty if you want the game to be something bigger someday, like adding more block types or adding traps to buff/nerf the rabbit guy.

  • Is it juicy enough?

- I was not served ANY juice while playing (not even carrot juice!), so I can confidently say that this game has NO juice quality WHATSOEVER.

but yeah, it's kinda juicy i guess...

  • generally, what could I do to improve it?

- Maybe some background tunes would be nice (hmu if you want some, I'm a novice composer), and maybe set some goal points/checkpoints/level system for extended gameplay. Possibly a scoring system with to how many mushrooms you get, etc (this could potentially increase your juice quality; Then all players can have a more refreshing, juicy experience!)

REQUEST (My humble plight...)

My very first game ever, and the first part of a much larger adventure! Grass Elemental Demo (demo): https://wasabiiii.itch.io/grass-elemental-demo-demo

(jumps into the future after u play the game)

So! Whaddaya think?

  • Is the game too short?
  • Is the game too long?
  • Is knife-throwing a sport?
  • Did you like the song?
  • How about the retro style?
  • Or the RPG feel?
  • Is it boring after a while?
  • D o n ' t   f o r g e t   a b o u t   t h a t   d e a l . . .

Feel free to comment on the game page and rate if you'd like!

(jk you don't have to answer all that if you don't want have a nice morning/day/night)

  • The game didn’t feel too short or too long - every second had something new or engaging.
  • Hell yeah. You could add more knife types or make them come at different heights for more interesting gameplay.
  • The music was really nice, and fit the retro style well. Maybe the start scene could have some light BGM.
  • I liked the retro style, and the characters were well-designed, but some more colour would definitely make things better on the visual side of things, especially for the knives and UI.
  • I don’t play RPGs, so can’t comment on that, but it’s a good basic gameplay loop that is supplemented by the jokes.
  • Humour kept the game fresh. Dialogue was spot-on and I really liked how you made normally bland parts of RPG games (not gonna spoil anything but the name select and disclaimer both made me smile) funny.

Request: Grid of Yendor

My biggest project yet. It’s a minimalistic roguelike set on a spreadsheet where typing is your attack, and the characters you type are your health. I just made a big update which adds many gameplay mechanics. Please download for better sound quality and less input lag

  • Is the help text helpful?
  • Did you understand the element system?
  • Did the sound effects feel coherent? (I’m no sound designer so I had to download from a bunch of sources; hopefully I did a good job of normalising them)
  • Did you like the art style? Not sure if it’s too minimalistic.

Leave a comment or review if you like!

Request: Grid of Yendor Hello,

Is the help text helpful?

I answer yes

Did you understand the element system?

Difficult at first, but once I understoodit, it was very good.

Did the sound effects feel coherent?

The sounds are OK and I liked the music a lot.

Did you like the art style? Not sure if it’s too minimalistic.

It’s too minimalist in my opinion. I’d love to see pictures next to the monster’s name, for example. The image of a door for the exit, healing potions etc…

Overall It’s a great and fun project, I really enjoyed it:-))

@The 13th Call did not request feedback.

Request: Faye Chen

I'd like feedback on the story and whether the ratio of words to images was enjoyable or a deterrent. If you think it was the latter, can you tell me why? Thank you.
