I thought this did a good job of giving character to the developers over a very short span of time
I loved playing this game and the narrative was great! Definitely one of my favorites in the jam so far. Only thing that felt weird was the wall jumping a bit and the level where you constantly move, I'm not sure if it's intended to but after wall jumping a bunch, the character just gets a massive burst of speed. Other than that 10/10
Solid platformer, I like the commentary a lot and how that plays into each level, and also how each level is a variation of the same level, it adds a nice sense of cohesion. Fun all around and the color swapping was well done!
Very original ! Liked it through and through
I absolutely love this. I was a touch confused how it fit the theme at first and just thought it was a neat little platformer with switching colors, but NO. This was phenomenal. I love the meta elements and quaint story. Quite possibly the best game I've played so far. Amazing job everyone!
This is AWESOME, I loved the splat stage xD, also the conversations are very cute!
Amazing work !!!
That was great, super original and funny concept, extremely relatable. wonderful work.
A wonderful platformer with gradual and deliberate addition of bugs. It's somewhat reminiscent of That Level Again with nice pixel graphics.
I really like this game)
Can't stop playing! very attractive gameplay. feel surprised by every single entering stage. I love it.
Very cute game! I really liked the simplicity of the gameplay, it's like play testing for a friend.
Very "meta" for some mechanics to be buggy at some points : )
Oh. My. God??? This is definitely one of my absolute favorite games of this jam, incredibly funny and relatable to the dev process.
The art is so so adorable and the banter between you guys is absolutely gold. Loved Tereza constantly changing the color schemes, hilarious and a super pretty effect!
The rotation level has to be my absolute favorite. It's so silly and fun, and the way you have to end it sliding down a chute like a Tetris block cracked me up.
One of the most fully realized concepts I've seen this time around. You all should be proud of what you made!
Hello, Tereza here :D! We are thrilled you enjoyed our game and really appreciate the feedback on what you enjoyed the most. The fun thing is, we (not me, haha) ALWAYS forget about the Z-rotation, so whenever we press "play" for the first time after having some basic movement implemented, this is EXACTLY what happens - as if we haven't made a platformer before.
Thank you again for the kind words, they made our day. :))
Nice game ! I like the take on the theme !
Nice game!
it was kinda hard the first or second time I played it, but when I got used to the mechanics and I enjoyed the game
Super cute game, felt nostalgic and reminded me of the atmosphere of flash games and xbox 360 arcade. I found it quite difficult as someone who sucks at platformers but overall great job :) this game has lots of personality
Such a charming game.
Implementation of certain mechanics in their "unfinished" state was done super well and the personalities of the developers were wonderfully written.
Ending felt surprisingly wholesome.
EDIT: There is a dash mechanic. The devs have been very kind to ppl like me who suck at platformers. :) If you find yourself stuck like I was, keep trying because there's definitely a way to progress. <3
I love your use of the jam theme. The game made me smile while playing it and that's has to be the entire point of a video game, right? It has tons of character and I think the writing is very fun.
Everything I'm about to say I'm prefacing with the fact that I'm not a gifted platformer and only play a small number of them.I did find it too difficult, this level in particular. I died a tremendous amount even in the first couple of levels, and this level was where I gave up.
I think this is probably about the right difficulty for people who enjoy platformers, so I'm still giving good ratings, and am assuming I just am a slow reflex noob.
Since I can't actually get too far in the game, I would really love to see some screenshots of the later levels, would you mind attaching those to your game entry?
Great job guys! Keep making games
Adam
Hello, Adam, thank you for your kind words! Did you maybe miss that there is a dash mechanic when you press shift? This level was specifically designed so that you can not finish it without it. Either way I'll try and make the screenshots, and put them here :).
Yeah I figured out the dash at that point because I realized there was no way I was going to jump, through it. I'm just so twitchy and not good at these kinds of games. I think I'm going to practice it more and hone my skills a bit so I can get further.
Oh one more thing I wanted to mention was I really like the character design :D
Good luck! Glad you like the game enough to try again :)
Thank you for mentioning that, we appreciate it
Neat concept, I love how overtime you lose your mechanics and the art gets worse. I also enjoyed the interactions between the developers.
5 stars for all metrics !!! If there is a metric about the story. I would give it 100 stars. I really enjoyed the chatting between developers inside!!
Superb idea, one of those game that make me sad there isn't a "writing" rating, it's clearly one of your strong points. Every dialogue was fun without becoming invasive, the kind of balance that old flash meta-platformer had.
Really well executed and those last levels absolutely feels like a starting project, excellent entry overall.
First of all, I like the game mechanics are keep changing, so I want to go to next level and next level to see what wiill change next. But, for me, the difficulty of level is too high. I even tried several times in tutorial and first level, which let me feel sad. I stopped the game at "more colors" level because I tried five minutes and cannot pass the first section of that level. If there is an easier version, I will be very happy to play to the end. Oh! By the way, the design of having a conversation bar on the top to see the words from designers are so interesting! Like that!
Hi, I'm sad to hear our game is hard to play. Could you maybe specify what was hard? Did you have trouble with the controls? Did you know you have more mechanics than just jump? (At the beginning, you can double-jump, dash (shift), wall slide and so on, and you can overcome many obstacles multiple ways).
I can dash? I think I miss that part in tutorial, that's why I think it is hard! I'm struggling in the part there are both stabs up and down. I think it is because I didn't dash! I'm gonna play it again!
Yes, that will definitely be it! Thank you for giving us a second chance :)) If you have any other feedback after, we will be glad to hear it, too.
You know what? After dashing, I finish the game with huge fun! 5-star game Lol. So yeah, there might also be someone the same as me who are careless and doesn't see all the text, this might need more fix? Otherwise it is a very interesting game, just like my original post, the mechanics are all interesting and it is fun to see that you are blaming another designer who miss the collider but you did that design in purpose. Haha, kind like how meta game works. So don't be sad anymore, forget about my comment that says it is hard, it is my bad.
